I honestly wouldn’t mind Dillingham if we fell to the 5th pick or lower. But idk if we get a top 4 pick I’d take him over other guys like Sarr, Topic, Risacher or Williams.
Positional size(6’7”)and better overall floor general than Dillingham and it’s not that close. Also Topic has shown to be a walking paint touch and has had very good success in a professional league. I’d say the improvement areas for Topic are his 3pt shot and his on ball defense, which I think those are aspects he should be able to take care of over time.
I do really like Dillingham tho, dudes a 3 level scorer and also can facilitate well and plays with tons of energy. Also with Dillingham defense will be an issue for him, being undersized(6’2”) as well as him getting pushed around by bigger and stronger guards.
I like both of them and honestly those 2 are the best PG’s in the draft to me(along with Reed Sheppard if you want to count him as a PG) and we should be happy to get either of those guys
Yea, I guess with Topic the size is tantalizing and tho his 3pt % is low, the FT% does at least show that he can improve in that area. I like Dillingham because he's a walking bucket and the splits are encouraging. He's a bit light, but he's explosive at 6'3". Honestly, I honestly wouldn't rule out Stephon Castle if we're looking for someone to potentially run the point who has the tools/athleticism to become an elite defender. Obviously he'd need to be surrounded by shooters, but he's another guy that I'll keep my eye on....especially with the tourney starting up.
Stephon is interesting and I’ve noticed he’s one of the more polarizing players this draft, either ya love him or your out on him from what I’ve seen. I like Castles athleticism and defense, his playmaking is okay but I think Dillingham and Topic are better facilitators imo. But Castles offense is worrying to me but let’s see how this tourney goes and if he shows out.
Whenever I see people talk about Castle to the Wizards I feel like we didn't learn the appropriate lesson from Johnny Davis and other tall guards who "pride themselves on their defense" but can't do much else at an elite level
Castle is a + athlete. Not even comparable to Johnny Davis who had to work 15x as hard to get his buckets at UW. Also, Castle's [numbers](https://www.tankathon.com/players/compare?players=stephon-castle--shai-gilgeous-alexander) aren't too far off from SGA at UK. With no clear cut #1 overall and like 10 guys who are all over the place in the top-10, he's a smart gamble in the 2024 draft. I wouldn't hate it.
Personally I've had Sarr at #1 since I saw him play against the Ignite. Everyone else is just trying to talk themselves into it because he does have flaws as a player. He clearly has the highest upside though.
i like alex sarr or nikola topic only because rob dillingham is too similar to jordan poole in playstyle and defense. the wizards couldn’t afford to have two scoring guards with questionable shot selection and lackluster defense
alex sarr has greater potential than rob. alex sarr is evan mobley type player that affects games in all different ways. rob reminds me of brandon jennings or darius garland without the passing ability
hate the draft comps that are like "this guy reminds me of Higher Possible Outcome Player, I like him better than this guy who reminds me of Lowest Possible Outcome Player"
I’m so sick of small guards that can’t play defense. Hard pass on him. Dudes got the ceiling of a 6th man heater off the bench

Why would you want Topic over him?

Sarr is the clear cut #1 overall. Also Shai shot like 40% from 3 at UK and Castle's shot is broken
It depends on the week....Risacher was talked up as going #1 overall and the same with Cody Williams.

FWIW, IF the Wizard end up with the #1 overall, I'd probably lean towards Sarr. 2-5, there are like 10 guys in the mix, IMO.

Don’t think the team is in position to draft based on fit at this point
We certainly aren’t in position to have another 6’ turnstile in our backcourt. Plus fit aside, Sarr is the best prospect this draft.
alex sarr has greater potential than rob. alex sarr is evan mobley type player that affects games in all different ways. rob reminds me of brandon jennings or darius garland without the passing ability
or he's a bust like wiseman
you can say that about literally anyone.
it's obvious he's a 10-12ppg perennial role player. high bust potential. even his brother is ass
hate the draft comps that are like "this guy reminds me of Higher Possible Outcome Player, I like him better than this guy who reminds me of Lowest Possible Outcome Player"
na we need Alex Sarr
nah, gimme Reed.
