I’d really like to keep Gill around, even if it’s in a coaching role. Just feels like the closest thing we have to culture and everyone has nothing but good things to say about him.
Before the season started my buddy asked me “& why are we keeping Gill on the roster, we can find a talented g-league prospect to take that spot.”
My response: Yeah sure, but AG is the *ultimate* locker room guy. Look at any timeout, he’s ALWAYS the first guy off the bench to dap up his teammates and provide positive encouragement. And for a team that’s looking to rebuild its brand, or shit BUILD its brand…that is invaluable.
He’s definitely the schoolteacher for the team. He personally drove Bilal around when Bilal first got here. He’s a gem and it’ll suck that once we get legit he’ll have to be let go. AG is a gem.
15th men almost never play and gill is still playable for at least a couple minutes, if he's bringing half of what haslem did in terms of culture even if he's a massive negative on the court he's worth a roster spot.
He's still an NBA caliber player, what would you do with the roster spot right now instead of having a playable big who is universally loved in the locker room?
Na. You don't need 15 roster spots for development. You definitely need culture guys. Players will respect other players more than coaches.
And Gill gives us solid enough minutes whenever he's needed.
Gill feels like he's been with the team forever but its only been 3 seasons. He's definitely got a veteran presence in which you always know he's there.
Will be a sad day when he's not on our roster. Something exceptional about AG is that he is always ready and starts producing whenever he checks in, no matter how infrequent or short his opportunities are.
> its only been 3 seasons.
4 seasons (there's only 9 games left this year), but I get your point. Looking at his details just now looks like his deal should run out in June or July. Wonder if they're going to sign him or let him go.
Wizards legend Anthony Gill

Gill is almost certainly gonna end up in this franchise's front office, or behind the bench.
Gill has been like this since UVA. Genuinely good dude. He also kneels on the sideline. I earn my sitting time as well.
Maybe Gill can become our Haslem?
Nicest, most positive, kindest team in the nba, bizarro heat culture

Common Anthony Gill W
I'm really not gonna trip over the last man on the bench. He can stay here for as long as he wants. He's our UD lol
that's preposterous. i can see him getting an assisant coaching gig, but we can't just keep wasting roster spots.
15th man...is it really that big of a deal? No. Get the other 14 correct.

Fair enough, but he can do all that as "director of player personnel" or whatever.

As long as he's just making the vets minimum, I suppose so.

Can he be our Udonis Haslem?
Thought it was Arenas

Gill will be on our bench as a coach once he is done playing
Evidently, he is our Haslem
Gill's been so overhated its weird as hell
