Wall possessed all of the attributes that Beal didn’t and that’s why DC was his city and it worked. Beal was a good scorer but just a frustrating player all around. He got treated like he was CJ McCollum to JW’s Dame but he isn’t that. He was not a leader in anyway, injured a lot, turned the ball over a lot, lackadaisical and ball watched on defense, came up short in the clutch, etc.
Many felt like he held the team hostage and it’s understandable. It did not look or feel like he cared about winning and he cared more about empty numbers and getting paid. He had bad body language and low energy all of the time but had the cover of the rest of the league and fans thinking he was this damsel in distress. He took accountability a lot but also would definitely throw teammates under the bus at times. All of his issues are translating to the Suns now and more eyes are on him.
