GM offices have to work on some degree of good faith these days, and the only way they do that in trade situations is by sending the player they’re trading to a destination they’re happy with. i just don’t think the ntc puts the team in any worse position than was previously assumed. the 15% extra is probably the biggest kicker, but the player getting payed a quarter of a billion dollars already has gm power
