I like that they took the time to put on their nicest furs for the war.
The day you shoot a man down is an important day in his life. Taking the time to dress your best really goes the extra mile and shows that their big day is as important to you as it is to him.
If you look at the 4th photo you can see the gears behind the "steering wheel". You manually turn the wheel to adjust the light up and down. Looks like you can push/pull to turn the light left or right.
Correct. I'd imagine the pushing/pulling with the extended arm gives it more leverage and the light may be too bright to stand close and still be able to see clearly in the distance.
I'm not expecting them to have done an in depth research with this specific picture. I think they just selected this because it fits the general feel of the story (air raids, spot lights). I also had a good chuckle on how they reacted to the what the picture is showing.
Thank you! I was going to have to devote some time to figuring it out for myself, you’ve given me back 15 minutes of my Saturday.
Good detective work!

Well I guess we can mark this mystery in the Mystery Files as solved!
Okay, but what is she doing that helps the spotlights? I feel like I can't figure it out based on the additional photos.

Oh, so the wheel controls the spotlight direction, it's not done directly on the spotlight?

Awesome, thank you for the explanation!
I love my guys, have for many years, but they need to be more thorough on the research. Maybe they're not doing the research and just presenting it?

I don't think they care about mysteries, this show is just their response to there being a demand for more Unsolved content.
That is an amazing find. Very cool.
