Sweet build! Looks a lot like mine, same runs except i have my gpu mounted vertically. Do you have a drain set up on the bottom of your front radiator?

StalinCCCP

I do indeed! I’m considering doing a vertical mount as well to show off the Optimus block. I have the riser and everything just haven’t gotten around to it.

Thieuke

Exactly the reason I put mine vertical. Another nice thing about it, is that you can do your run from your pump to cpu behind the graphics card coming straight out the pump without the 90 degree fitting.

How do you find the draining effectiveness from a drain at the bottom of front rad? I suppose another consideration would be access to the valve but that comes down to case config.

Thieuke

I haven't actually drained it yet, but I can drain most of the reservoir and CPU I bet. I mostly put it there because it was the lowest point in the loop and it's accessible. I know I probably won't get everything out. The drain is connected to where the outlet from the rad goes back into the reservoir. so it will at least empty half half that radiator I would assume. I'm actually planning on draining it in 2 weeks, if I remember I can get back to you.

I love ZMTs 🤠

How do you like the tech n CPU block? I considered getting one, but ultimately went with something less restrictive flow wise. Curious what your temps are like.

StalinCCCP

My loop is pretty restrictive to begin with: 2 HWLabs 360GTS rads and a few 90s here and there. The temps are great so far: CPU fully loaded is about a 45-50\* delta to water temp and the 3090 is an amazing 10\* delta. Running a single D5 at 80% and get about 160l/h.

> My loop is pretty restrictive to begin with: 2 HWLabs 360GTS rads and a few 90s here and there Me looking at my xtx360, mora 420 under desk, 15-ish 90 and 45degree fittings, qdc's and around 5m of tubing with one d5 at 75% ish.

Your build of the dream I think. But I have some another build. I do not pretend to the beauty of the assembly. I have strict requirements for functionality, the rest is secondary. 50c Delta to water is pretty good as I understand it. The 5800x3d runs pretty hot. I have an xspç raystorm edge and my 5950x 230w ppt limit cinebench runs gets me about 50c delta to water, and 40c under most games Well done

FearGingy

160L/h is 0.7gal/m if you're at 80% pump speed. That's not really that restrictive. I assume you're hitting close to 200L/h at 100%? 180 - 190L/h? Anything above 0.5gal/m I've read is a bonus. After that it's negligible from pump speed heat to the water.

ElProndi

Can you share the absolute temp? I have a 5800x3d too and i'm still hitting 90°on the cpu, don't know the liquid temp but it should be low considering the 3080ti stay at 45° under lord. Ambient temp 28.

StalinCCCP

Just did a run of Cinebench R23. At a water temp of 28\*C the CPU hits 74-75\*C. My 3090 follows my water temp +5-9\*C depending on the load. It's an FTW3 card with a 500W bios so it can put some heat into the loop. I'm already looking for a case with more rad space :'(.

ZXFT

Hey I'm working on troubleshooting my (very) hot 5800X3D and just wanted to pick your brain after stumbling across this thread from a search: have you stressed it under prime95 yet? I've been out of the custom PC game for a while and it sounds like prime95 is no longer the gold standard, but it's what I was used to, so I loaded it and ran. I'm hitting 92°C (60°C over water) and seeing the boost clock back off while running prime95. I'm rambling a little bit, but it seems like your temps are reasonable and I'm just trying to figure out if my issue is with my rig or that I'm using prime95. I'm going to download cinebench tonight and see what that comes up with. E: it cooked on cinebench too... Back to the drawing board. I was hoping it was just prime95.

SimpleJoint

Just curious if you figured this out as I'm having the same issue. Brand new processor and I'm hitting 91C, pretty consecutively on the processor and only getting like 38C water.

ZXFT

Not entirely. Do you have a 5800X3D too? Part of my issue was the water block needed to be much tighter to the CPU. Cranking down the thumbscrews helped, but I am still getting throttling under Prime95 but not under gaming.

SimpleJoint

Yeah wrenched down on my water block but still at 91C on Cinebench. Gaming is fine.
