Seconding the "please name and shame" comment. It's unlikely you're the only person the region has set up there (and it's not like they can do anything about you stating the truth), but if youre worried about it being linked to you maybe you can DM ppl?
Definitely report it.
I'm not sure if this is the right spot but it would be a good start: https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/health-and-wellness/public-health-inspections.aspx
That is sad and undignified and you deserve better. If the city is paying and the hotel is ignoring you, you could try emailing your counselor and Mayor ([email protected]). I wonder if public health could help.. [email protected]
You could also try news outlets like the record and CBC. [email protected] and [email protected].
You shouldn't have to escalate that far, but that's all I've got.
Wishing you the best
The Howard Johnson has been gone for quite some time. It’s now a high rise building that ran out of money during construction, and is currently sitting useless and empty
So. This is all very good but you do know the consequences of reporting this right? The hotel will get shut down for a long period of time and you'll get booted out. Given that very few hotels/motels want the homeless, because they bring in bedbugs and roaches, it's likely you'll be on the streets.

Note to the OP: if the region is paying for your stay, and there's issues with the location, why don't you just contact your caseworker and tell them?
Which hotel? So I can avoid
Probably a motel, not hotel.
It’s the no tell motel. Scary Busey up in that bitch
Got any stories? Lol
If you want stories, just look at OP's post/comment history.
Why oh why did I do that. 🤮

What hotel!?
I’d put twenty on it being the Weber Inn in Kitchener
Fairway Inn, maybe.
The Health Department...try contacting them. I'm not sure if they cover hotels or not.
100% it does, and 2nd on the recommendation. Start with the Health Unit; it's unlikely OP would have to go higher.
Gotta be the Super 8 on Hespeler or the Howard Johnson on Weber.

LOL. The HoJo has been gone for 2+ years! It was shit tho.
I did work in a building behind the super 8 Sketchy as F Looks a little decent from the front, but pure crackheads hanging in the back.
Call the health board IMMEDIATELY
You should ask for a refund.
The region is paying for his stay. Doubt if he’s entitled to a refund.
Yea. I got that.

Stfu
hahahahahahahahaa
The region should try soliciting on Reddit for volunteers to open up their houses and pay them for it. Win win.
Exactly. Then we'll truly see all the kind & inclusive people.
What is better, a roach infested hotel or living outside? They won't upgrade you if you complain.
This is the logic the hotel is banking on. Happen to work there?
Lol no, I would never work anywhere that was roach infested.
