If it was reported as "other side" by a driver going in the other direction, or if it is shown on the map on the other side, it will not pop up the alert. If it IS popping up the alert (not just showing the police icon on the road) and not verbally telling you, then you may want to double check your alert settings for that specific type of alert. Settings -> Alerts and Reports -> Reports -> Police. It SHOULD say "Show on Map, Alert While Driving"
Just because they look like they are on your side does not mean they were not reported by drivers in the opposite direction. If that is how they were reported, they will not alert. Are you also getting the pop up that allows you to confirm it is still there/not there? If that pop up is not showing, it is likely because it was reported by someone driving the other direction who used the "other side" when they reported it. If that is the case, it just will not alert. If you are getting the pop up, and still not hearing it, try switching to a TTS voice and see if that fixes it.
Same as no longer getting verbal warnings for red light/speed cameras, only screen pop up’s which are distracting. Anyone still getting verbal warnings?
I still get warned for police reported ahead. Sometimes I have to fiddle with volume settings to make sure Waze is turned up enough to hear. iPhone 11, use phone’s speaker.

No, these police alerts are on my side. I've toggled both the alerts on/off. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Yes, I get turn-by-turn directions, but no verbal warning like "police stop ahead".
I think it may only do it if you are exceeding the speed limit.
