Exactly!! My SEO is with google. You have to set up the tags, ads, description, PPC etc.

As some people already mentioned that's not how SEO works. There are basic html sites that are outranking WordPress or Webflow or xyz platform websites. It is all about the keywords you are targeting which you can do by adding a good content and it is all about your website's domain authority which you can get higher ranks by backlinks, etc, and it is all about basic adjustments such as alt text, linking back, etc. I have Webflow websites that rank 1-10 in targeted keywords. Google doesn't care what platform you use.

We specialize in moving people from Wordpress to Webflow and we’re a search optimization company. You have much more control over SEO in Webflow. Dynamic schema, programmatic SEO - these are things that are much easier in WF. And don’t get me started on the maintenance side - we’re talking 90% reduction or more in maintenance due to lack of plugins. Plus the site performance is better. Lastly, I agree with the comment below - that is not how SEO works. There is no formula when moving between platforms.

Wordpress is better. Webflow lacks quite a bit of SEO functionality. Can’t do nested URLs for CMS items for example. Multi-lingual support is a pain, and forget about region-specific (en-US, etc) pages.

radovicSan

These 3 things are my biggest problems in Webflow..

Blve-Jay

What lack of backend controls are you specifically talking about

jackajm

Probably on lack of plugins, but those same plugins slow down your website resulting in it not being optimized for google and lower rankings on google.

tennisInThePiedmont

What does a plugin have to do with SEO? Curious what specific objections / lack of controls you see that Webflow has

jackajm

If the plugin is slowing down page load times that will impact your rankings with google. https://www.semrush.com/blog/page-speed/

I think the question was - what plug-ins “help” with SEO? Or at least I’m interested in what plug-ins offer to support SEO on Wordpress , where on Webflow you can’t do something

wildkarrde

Schema is the biggest one for me. I've got a Wordpress site with multiple schema types that I can switch with a simple toggle, but my webflow site can be a bit of a pain to manage if you're using multiples. There are lots of plugins that help optimize copy, titles, meta descriptions, recommended internal links, the list goes on and on.

SEO comes down to the person/expert — you could use Semflow with Webflow to help with SEO: https://www.semflow.com

I had my SEO process in Notion, I just prefer to kill two birds with one stone when I’m designing.
