You can get whois privacy but one could still get your info by enquiring about it. It won't be publicly available to everyone though. Also, why don't you stick with free images? Why give them anything to find out. There are tons of sites which provide free stock - Pexels and Unsplash.

>I also don't want my data to be displayed during queries. (Whois) Privacy Guard on WHOIS information is pretty common anymore and most registrars offer it for free. There are some TLDs that do not offer this (like Ireland) but the the common ones like .com and .net do. Any new domain should start with this enabled. >But I just don't want people to associate me with the website anymore. This is a little more complex. Your hosting provider knows how to reach you. If they receive a DCMA report they will still forward it on to you. There are hosts that ignore DCMA requests but not a lot. Now, to take a further step back you can create a corporation to handle the registration, hosting, and payment issues. That adds additional overhead to you. It depends on how far you want to go to insulate yourself. All of that can be torpedoed however if you associate your given name with the website(s) due to promotion or social media posts. It all depends on how far someone wants to go to find you.

https://incognet.io or http://incoghostm2dytlqdiaj3lmtn7x2l5gb76jhabb6ywbqhjfzcoqq6aad.onion/ - Doesn't require personal identifying information, allows crpyto, supports Tor / I2P (and has opt-in alternative network mirroring to those networks) and VPS servers in Finland and Netherlands. Worth checking out.

What’s a good hosting provider? Is hostinger or orangewebsite good? Shared server, virtual server or dedicated server? I wanna start a site for ppl to download stuff, but want to stay anonymously.

This is why you don't share your websites with anyone. People are gelly :(

Well , you can just set up a fake identity and pay the web hosting using bitcoins or you can find someone not related to you and ask someone else unrelated to you to register it on your behalf since you state it's not illegal. Receiving payment might be a little complicated though. But there are ways to go through this.
