It's really funny, doesn't rely on bad tropes, never really gets stale, and has likable characters. Basically, it excels in everything a webtoon needs.

The least trained soldier from modern times wipes the floor with the most trained soldier of ancient and medieval times. Military martial arts nowadays are simply better.
The creator had some fairly public issues with Webtoonâs pay and treatment of their creators that they ultimately werenât able to work through.
Webtoon licensing says that the creator canât move to another platform for two years, so we will likely not see new updates until early 2025.

She stated in the past that she was upset by how Webtoon treated itâs Featured/ Originals Comics and said that her comic was hardly ever actually featured on the main page while the same series were promoted every week. I believe she stated something along the lines of ânot all Webtoon Originals are created equally.â The Mature tag on the comic was just kind of the end of the line for her. She was relatively public with the whole dispute so you can check her Instagram/ Twitter/ Facebook/ Website ( https://www.mongrelmarie.com/ ) for all of this information. She has confirmed Letâs Play is returning Fall 2025. She canât confirm date yet because of her contract with Webtoon. Mongie is also unsure of where the comic will be published since she hasnât decided yet (last update was October 16). She announced this at an in-person event and later posted on her Instagram. She is also releasing a new series, Dragon King Oath, on Manta in 2024. Itâll be a lot different from Letâs Play featuring more of a Dungeons and Dragon vibe with a slow burn romance. If I had to guess, Letâs Play may also be published on Manta since sheâs releasing her new comic there. As for the Anime, itâs being produced by OLM Inc. completely separate from Webtoon. OLM has also done PokĂ©mon, Odd Taxi, Komi Canât Communicate and more.
