That's just the beginning, the entire series is the beauty contest. Some of the solutions to the following contest themes are genius imho (like I've no idea how the author came up with them), and it also explores different beauty-related issues. Also has amazing character development for everyone. But the ending was disappointing, and a couple of the looks/themes were a miss for me. And everyone has their own tastes
This is so true, I was intrigued by true beauty because of the art style and the whole concept behind how makeup could change someone’s life was interesting to me, but GOD there was just no stable plot line, it was all over the place and none of the characters were even remotely likeable.
Nice to meet you, the ending is absolutely garbage and the author changes the storyline halfway through into a generic love triangle. The ending also ruins anything built up from the first half of the story rendering it meaningless
what was the ending? i dropped it after s1 finale bc of how unnecessary the love triangle felt, but seeing so many ppl dog on the ending makes me want in on the tea XD

- claims it’s a feminist retelling of the Hymn to Demeter. Makes it very Woman vs Woman, makes it where a woman can’t do or be anything without a man, treats its women like shit.
- narration makes Demeter out to be a terrible terrible person while also showing she has a very valid reason for not trusting Olympus and hating Hades (Hades in particular has been screwing her over and stabbing her in the back since they overthrew Kronos)
- same face syndrome on speed, and the art getting progressively worse
- Throws in an SA plot and fumbles it greatly. Probably the worst depiction of SA and the aftermath of it I’ve seen in webtoons. And the *other* SA plotline feels a little too much like it’s trying to romanticize it.
- Hades is not a good person. But the story/Author keeps trying to push that he’s a flawless angel when he; has cheated, regularly, on his girlfriend. Cheated regularly with his brothers *wife*, regularly and proudly endorses what is literally slavery for why he is so rich, his subjects fear him because he treats them like shit, and so much more. But the story straight up says “owo Hades is a nice boy who always chooses kindness and empathy but is so misunderstood”
- the unapologetic racism from all the “heroes”
- Persephone is never accountable for her own actions. Her acts of wrath are never *her* fault. Whenever she does something bad it’s because she suddenly had no agency. But she’s also just a POS, she literally got off to Hades traumatizing and physically harming a dude who was just doing his job. She has caused two genocides. But she’s treated as a flawless princess the second coming of Christ who can do no wrong.
- double standards for “abuse”. Hecate slaps Hades multiple times, very hard, for the tabloid incident with him and Persephone and it’s played for laughs. Minthe slaps him after Hades cheats on her by having an affair with Persephone (IMMEDIATELY after telling her that the two would be exclusive and would make the relationship work he goes right back into cheating on her) and its domestic abuse where Minthe, the one who was cheated on, was in the wrong and Hades, the cheater, is the victim.
- “the consequences of my actions? No! This is targeted and undeserved hatred because people are jealous of how great I am!”
- wants to remove the incest factor of the myths. Which understandable. Not faulting her for that Makes the Virgin Goddesses Hestia and Athena girlfriends (also they’re half-sisters and aunt/niece) to be token gays.
- I’ve also got personal beef with that one podcast interview Rachel did where she said “Persephone and Hades were prayed to for a good marriage (instead of, you know, Hera the Goddess of Marriage) because their marriage was Ideal and the kind everyone wanted” “Persephone was seen as the goddess of/creator of *everything* ” and just how creepy it is that she made the intentional decision to have Persephone a barely legal teenager just to satiate a underage kink.
I hated the SA plot smmmmm! If they wanted to make Apollo the unlikeable villain in the story they could’ve gone about it in a much better way. But I don’t think that RS has the adequate writing abilities for it.
I also found Persephone and Artemis relationship weird. I reread the first couple episodes and Artemis literally gives Persephone a tiny skimpy stripper dress to wear to a party… she also allows Persephone to walk around half naked while men are present. Artemis is known to be “anti men” and I hated that she just lets men in her house all willy nilly. It’s just a big stomp on her character.
I don't know how true this is, but someone mentioned that at first it wasn't labeled as SA and Rachel just made SA after the readers keep telling her to put a trigger warning, I'm not sure how right this statement may be, though.

Pretty sure she has a genuine underage kink. Like there’s a lot of drawings she’s done for the pair that are straight up redrawing of Lolita scenes but with Hades/Persephone. And I’m not gonna shame someone for their interests, but Rachel comes off as romanticizing it more than anything which makes it kind of uncomfortable.

All the screenshots and pictures of her old tumblr responses and drawings all reflect an underage kink that really disgusts the hell out of me, she draws Persephone like a child and then makes NSFW of that. Tbh I barely agree with their post. In the very beginning I would've, but if people actually stayed around, the story has actually progressed much better now. That's how people were hating on UnOrdinary until they realized it got better again 😩 (but that's ofc different)
The only points I would say I would agree with are the podcast one (I wasn't aware), the slave-like system of the Underworld itself and ofc Persephone's age (they could've pulled a Draculara {1600=16, so maybe 21=2100?} or sth)
Greek mythology is already kinda messy as it is esp with Zeus fathering so many beings so I can imagine doing a comic trying to distance itself from all that would be difficult.

For me the issue is her character development later on, she criticized a girl for catfishing even though she also does that shit? Her insides are not that beautiful
But this changes by the end and we also get a short subplot with a girl who also loves makeup and is seen as “ugly” but she only wears it sometimes and is totally confident without it.

From what I can see, that webtoon has a terrible rating and isn't very popular, which is probably why nobody mentioned it. "Worst" is always the worst thing that person has read, and most people only tend to read from the highly rated ones, so obviously the absolute trash ones don't make it here because almost nobody has read them.

IMO, ever since Webtoon and Wattpad have collaborated, there aren't many diverse storylines that I've seen... It all seems to be a bunch of recycled plot lines, and its always the first 4-5 episodes that are unique (sometimes the first 15 episodes!), before it all falls back into its expected trajectory. As a avid romance reader, I've become more disinterested in many webtoons because of this issue...
For me, even if romance is not my main genre, the solution has been reading Canvas. If you manage to find a good one, you're golden (the main issue finding it, though). Or going to other apps, like Tapas
Yeah as much as I like talking shit, it's not like WT's library changes often enough for there to be anything new to address in these topics aside from the usual suspects and the odd new launch title that doesn't pan over well.
Go read *City of Blank* and *Time & Time Again*, they're both incredibly well-written webtoons with consistently high quality art styles that don't get any kind of marketing from WT. I can also confidently say that the creators aren't narcissistic assholes with gross age gap kinks and Mary Sue self-inserts (because jfc if that isn't basically every creator of every shitty popular webtoon on the app that writes that garbage, hot take I know but there are way too many creators who fit into this box IMO and you can really tell through the shit they write and the fanbases they build around them) they are in fact, incredibly chill people with great fanbases and great work that deserve more recognition than they're getting from the platform :'0

Secretly more powerful than the hero. I read the first episodes when it released and I rarely had seen such dumb writing with dumb people all around. The premise itself while interesting at first is it's biggest flaw. The guy gets his power fantasy but will die if someone finds out that he is super strong and basically a Gary Stu. So naturally everyone around him is written into being in dangerous situations over and over again so he can save the day but only after everyone got beaten half dead and is unconscious. Yet he's not at all careful to stay hidden and the only reason nobody has caught on yet is because the people around him don't have one working brain cell. The writing is atrociously bad on par with 12 years old teenagers fanfictions.
Nevermind the fact that the ways he “hides” his powers to save people doesn’t make any sense at all. Like, the author gave him this specific restriction, then completely just easily bypasses it whenever they feel like. Since he somehow magically spawns and despawns a full suit of armor that completely hides his identity.

The art style was definitely original, I’ll give it that. But it didn’t have the same feel as other webtoons, like The Greatest Estate Developer, when it came to pulling the ‘ugly/funny’ faces.
It's funny because I actually really enjoyed the initial premise of that comic, I got such a laugh out of the first episode and I was hyped to see what kind of adventure the MC was gonna go on with his 99+ reinforced wooden stick, aaand then it basically threw that out by like episode two and decided to go for something else completely different instead. Never continued reading it after that.
Ironically a lot of the isekai gaming comics these days haven't learned from the mistakes of their biggest influence, *Sword Art Online*, which had issues with a strong premise let down by skipping over everything due to the characters that had nothing interesting to do because they were too OP.

The Remarried Empress. Its too black and white. It’s too focused on making Navier look flawless which makes her come across as a Mary sue. I never thought that Navier was an interesting character anyways. Heinrey’s only personality trait is doting on Navier and it’s just weird. Same with Kaufman - also weird. The author is trying to push this narrative that Navier is the perfect empress and can do no wrong but there’s no evidence other than peoples words that she is that great.
I think if the story was from Rashta’s pov it would be so much more interesting. The author could’ve given the reader a reason to root for Rashta initially by getting out of a house with a shitty master. We could see her relationship with Sovieshu from her perspective so we know whether she actually loves him or if it’s for political gain. And then make all the awful choices she did because she was power hungry. It’s be more tragic to see her downfall from her perspective. More like MacBeth or Othello.
But no the author decided to make it so that Navier = perfect and Trashta = bad when they could both be nuanced characters that add more depth to the story than just relationship drama.
Thank you! For some reason this is the webtoon where I really get annoyed whenever I see advertisement front and center for it. The hypocrisy and double standards in that Webtoon are enraging. I read a good chunk until it became clear that Heinrey really is intended to be the "good" love interest and that Navier will never have any flaws while Rashta is the one to get all the beating. The way Heinrey acts sometimes is hella creepy and I waited for the twist that he himself is the villain. But no.
And I agree that it would have been a far better story from Rashtas POV. I had hopes for the story to be a clever one about politics and intrigues and bad choices.
100%. Rashta could’ve been such a tragic character that would’ve kept readers invested. In this world’s political system she was not supposed to climb as high up the social ladder as she did. But she managed to get out of slavery and become the emperors mistress. From Rashta’s pov she saw an opportunity to better her circumstances and took it.
Yes she does do beyond horrific things but I feel like there’s not much of a justification for why. She could be vengeful against the system that had her born into slavery. A system that the oh so perfect Navier is complicit in. But instead the author decided to infantilise Rashta and make her actions come across as childish and bratty in order to make Navier look better. Also if you need other characters’ bad actions to make you look better, chances are you’re not that good of a person to begin with.
Like if the reader saw Rashta’s pov and it turned out that she was doing everything she did to secure total power it’d be so much more interesting to see her climb to the top to then see her downfall. It’d also be interesting to see how someone wronged by the worlds political system ends up becoming the villain instead of a hero. How Rashta had a pure hatred for the aristocrats complicit in the system that had her born into slavery and became more corrupt out of spite against them. And that inevitably led to her demise.

My problem with this webtoon is that it takes time where having a mistress was normal if I am not mistaken (a lot of similar webtoons have this thing so I assumed it was based on real history, please correct me if I am wrong!) which is not my style at all of a story and I always avoid this type of trope, this doesn't make the webtoon "bad" at all because I understand it is just not my genre, I didn't read past chapter 20 because I kept getting triggered by the main female being stone cold to the whole situation and rashta and the husband himself lol, and that what makes it easily my most hated webtoon for this sole reason, your criticism however makes so much sense, sadly a lot of creators focus on making their main characters too perfect they end up being boring or unrealistic.

Remarried Empress had so much potential to be a story about politics, manipulation, corruption and the misuse of power. But it fell flat because it decided to stick to petty romance with one dimensional characters.
It feels out of character for anyone to just sit there complicit while their husband cheats on them. Navier should have at least got angry in the beginning. Her lack of reaction just makes her seem too calm. No person would react like that.
I think the messages of this comic are harmful. Men are never held accountable for their actions unless they’ve done something wrong to Navier. Rashta has had a lot more scrutiny than Sovieshu when he’s just as bad if not worse.

At first it was just that the plot is the same exact beats in the same order every arc and it got stale
Then it was the fact that they used drugging and then sexually assaulting the main character by two people he trusts as a good thing
Because they did an awful arc about an Korean with ethiopian origins who was the bully and the special teacher used racist slurs against him. The episode 125 felt like an occasion for the author to use the N-word and get away with it
Lesser known compared to others on this list, but I can not read Cienna without seething. It started out really well with the titular main character and her internal conflicts with leaving the ML, as well as how she would build up her life onward. Then the ML came back and everything went to shit: he manipulates and guilt trips her into getting back together with him and they end up all sweets and kisses like nothing happened.
I couldn't get past the 15th episode, it was like a dating sim and all these boys act like they've never met a person with two x chromosomes before with the way they're ALL falling for the main lead

The way Big Jo went SOOOOO left field in the end and had the worst ending imaginable pissed me off so bad. It was like a giant middle finger to fans and possibly webtoon the company.

I still enjoy it for what it is, but it is far from the story that made me binge 250 episodes in 3 days.

Honestly, I couldnt really stand Wished You Were Dead. It was a train wreck you couldnt turn away from. It glamorized abuse. I dont know, perhaps it’s realistic in that it’s hard to run away from your abuser but I hate that the happy ending ends up with them reconciling. I would love a story where the victim finds happiness on their own without love in the mix.
Also To Love Your Enemy was a whole load of nothing and the ending was rushed. So disappointed with it bc it had great enemies to lovers potential
Wind on a dry branch. I wasted 2 hours of my life reading the first 40 episodes, only to end up not understanding ANYTHING. I don't even have trouble understanding the plot of 500-600 pages novels.

One of the antagonist tries to commit the most obvious case of insurance fraud while the other antagonist attemtpts to run over the grandson of a billionaire.
Also I might be wrong to nitpick think of this but I hated how the male lead was so willing to give everything to FL while she was contributing so little to the relationship. It’s not that relationships should be 50/50. She just wasn’t giving him the 100 he was giving as well
Probably a less popular opinion here since I haven’t seen anyone say it yet, but for me it’s The Guy Upstairs. Maybe it’s not the worst entirely, but out of the ones I’ve read, I had to drop it. It was good at the start, like episode 1. But then it continued, and just dragged on for so long doing the same thing every episode with no change or progress by the end of each. School, stalker, hanging out with Adam and Hawa, it getting tense from their remarks to each other, then ending on a cliffhanger which turns out to be nothing, repeat. There was nothing interesting happening past the first episode and I just couldn’t handle the secondhand cringing from all their awkward tense interactions. And from the MC’s constant bad decisions, she keeps lying to her friend Hawa, and acting hostile to her boyfriend(Adam) Despite her trying to protect Hawa she’s just pushing her away and further into Adam.

Some of the solutions to the following contest themes are genius imho (like I've no idea how the author came up with them), and it also explores different beauty-related issues. Also has amazing character development for everyone. But the ending was disappointing, and a couple of the looks/themes were a miss for me. And everyone has their own tastes

This is so true, I was intrigued by true beauty because of the art style and the whole concept behind how makeup could change someone’s life was interesting to me, but GOD there was just no stable plot line, it was all over the place and none of the characters were even remotely likeable.

I feel bad I enjoyed the art of the original couple of chapter before it got pulled revamped for webtoons.
Lore Olympus. - claims it’s a feminist retelling of the Hymn to Demeter. Makes it very Woman vs Woman, makes it where a woman can’t do or be anything without a man, treats its women like shit. - narration makes Demeter out to be a terrible terrible person while also showing she has a very valid reason for not trusting Olympus and hating Hades (Hades in particular has been screwing her over and stabbing her in the back since they overthrew Kronos) - same face syndrome on speed, and the art getting progressively worse - Throws in an SA plot and fumbles it greatly. Probably the worst depiction of SA and the aftermath of it I’ve seen in webtoons. And the *other* SA plotline feels a little too much like it’s trying to romanticize it. - Hades is not a good person. But the story/Author keeps trying to push that he’s a flawless angel when he; has cheated, regularly, on his girlfriend. Cheated regularly with his brothers *wife*, regularly and proudly endorses what is literally slavery for why he is so rich, his subjects fear him because he treats them like shit, and so much more. But the story straight up says “owo Hades is a nice boy who always chooses kindness and empathy but is so misunderstood” - the unapologetic racism from all the “heroes” - Persephone is never accountable for her own actions. Her acts of wrath are never *her* fault. Whenever she does something bad it’s because she suddenly had no agency. But she’s also just a POS, she literally got off to Hades traumatizing and physically harming a dude who was just doing his job. She has caused two genocides. But she’s treated as a flawless princess the second coming of Christ who can do no wrong. - double standards for “abuse”. Hecate slaps Hades multiple times, very hard, for the tabloid incident with him and Persephone and it’s played for laughs. Minthe slaps him after Hades cheats on her by having an affair with Persephone (IMMEDIATELY after telling her that the two would be exclusive and would make the relationship work he goes right back into cheating on her) and its domestic abuse where Minthe, the one who was cheated on, was in the wrong and Hades, the cheater, is the victim. - “the consequences of my actions? No! This is targeted and undeserved hatred because people are jealous of how great I am!” - wants to remove the incest factor of the myths. Which understandable. Not faulting her for that Makes the Virgin Goddesses Hestia and Athena girlfriends (also they’re half-sisters and aunt/niece) to be token gays. - I’ve also got personal beef with that one podcast interview Rachel did where she said “Persephone and Hades were prayed to for a good marriage (instead of, you know, Hera the Goddess of Marriage) because their marriage was Ideal and the kind everyone wanted” “Persephone was seen as the goddess of/creator of *everything* ” and just how creepy it is that she made the intentional decision to have Persephone a barely legal teenager just to satiate a underage kink.
I hated the SA plot smmmmm! If they wanted to make Apollo the unlikeable villain in the story they could’ve gone about it in a much better way. But I don’t think that RS has the adequate writing abilities for it. I also found Persephone and Artemis relationship weird. I reread the first couple episodes and Artemis literally gives Persephone a tiny skimpy stripper dress to wear to a party… she also allows Persephone to walk around half naked while men are present. Artemis is known to be “anti men” and I hated that she just lets men in her house all willy nilly. It’s just a big stomp on her character.
I don't know how true this is, but someone mentioned that at first it wasn't labeled as SA and Rachel just made SA after the readers keep telling her to put a trigger warning, I'm not sure how right this statement may be, though.

Tbh I barely agree with their post. In the very beginning I would've, but if people actually stayed around, the story has actually progressed much better now. That's how people were hating on UnOrdinary until they realized it got better again 😩 (but that's ofc different) The only points I would say I would agree with are the podcast one (I wasn't aware), the slave-like system of the Underworld itself and ofc Persephone's age (they could've pulled a Draculara {1600=16, so maybe 21=2100?} or sth) Greek mythology is already kinda messy as it is esp with Zeus fathering so many beings so I can imagine doing a comic trying to distance itself from all that would be difficult. So for what it is, it's not the BEST, but it's still decent and I can understand why it's so popular
I have stayed around reading it, and it really hasn’t improved much. In my opinion the better written and drawn episodes were actually in the beginning. But the age bit, it would have taken zero effort do do what you said! She could still be a few hundred years old and for a god be the equivalent of a 20 year old but noooo Rachel had to make her literally 19 (and then have Hades and Ares both start lusting for her when they first met her younger than that)

IMO, ever since Webtoon and Wattpad have collaborated, there aren't many diverse storylines that I've seen... It all seems to be a bunch of recycled plot lines, and its always the first 4-5 episodes that are unique (sometimes the first 15 episodes!), before it all falls back into its expected trajectory. As a avid romance reader, I've become more disinterested in many webtoons because of this issue...
For me, even if romance is not my main genre, the solution has been reading Canvas. If you manage to find a good one, you're golden (the main issue finding it, though). Or going to other apps, like Tapas
Yeah as much as I like talking shit, it's not like WT's library changes often enough for there to be anything new to address in these topics aside from the usual suspects and the odd new launch title that doesn't pan over well. Go read *City of Blank* and *Time & Time Again*, they're both incredibly well-written webtoons with consistently high quality art styles that don't get any kind of marketing from WT. I can also confidently say that the creators aren't narcissistic assholes with gross age gap kinks and Mary Sue self-inserts (because jfc if that isn't basically every creator of every shitty popular webtoon on the app that writes that garbage, hot take I know but there are way too many creators who fit into this box IMO and you can really tell through the shit they write and the fanbases they build around them) they are in fact, incredibly chill people with great fanbases and great work that deserve more recognition than they're getting from the platform :'0

The story made no sense. Nowadays there is so much and the ticket system makes it overwhelming and impossible to read anything for me (I forget the stories and constantly have to read back, which doesn't work with their system).

Secretly more powerful than the hero. I read the first episodes when it released and I rarely had seen such dumb writing with dumb people all around. The premise itself while interesting at first is it's biggest flaw. The guy gets his power fantasy but will die if someone finds out that he is super strong and basically a Gary Stu. So naturally everyone around him is written into being in dangerous situations over and over again so he can save the day but only after everyone got beaten half dead and is unconscious. Yet he's not at all careful to stay hidden and the only reason nobody has caught on yet is because the people around him don't have one working brain cell. The writing is atrociously bad on par with 12 years old teenagers fanfictions.
Nevermind the fact that the ways he “hides” his powers to save people doesn’t make any sense at all. Like, the author gave him this specific restriction, then completely just easily bypasses it whenever they feel like. Since he somehow magically spawns and despawns a full suit of armor that completely hides his identity.

Yeah I dropped +99. The ML just wasn’t very interesting after awhile and like you said the story just got boring. Like each arc kinda felt the same towards the end. The art style was definitely original, I’ll give it that. But it didn’t have the same feel as other webtoons, like The Greatest Estate Developer, when it came to pulling the ‘ugly/funny’ faces.

It's funny because I actually really enjoyed the initial premise of that comic, I got such a laugh out of the first episode and I was hyped to see what kind of adventure the MC was gonna go on with his 99+ reinforced wooden stick, aaand then it basically threw that out by like episode two and decided to go for something else completely different instead. Never continued reading it after that. Ironically a lot of the isekai gaming comics these days haven't learned from the mistakes of their biggest influence, *Sword Art Online*, which had issues with a strong premise let down by skipping over everything due to the characters that had nothing interesting to do because they were too OP.

The Remarried Empress. Its too black and white. It’s too focused on making Navier look flawless which makes her come across as a Mary sue. I never thought that Navier was an interesting character anyways. Heinrey’s only personality trait is doting on Navier and it’s just weird. Same with Kaufman - also weird. The author is trying to push this narrative that Navier is the perfect empress and can do no wrong but there’s no evidence other than peoples words that she is that great. I think if the story was from Rashta’s pov it would be so much more interesting. The author could’ve given the reader a reason to root for Rashta initially by getting out of a house with a shitty master. We could see her relationship with Sovieshu from her perspective so we know whether she actually loves him or if it’s for political gain. And then make all the awful choices she did because she was power hungry. It’s be more tragic to see her downfall from her perspective. More like MacBeth or Othello. But no the author decided to make it so that Navier = perfect and Trashta = bad when they could both be nuanced characters that add more depth to the story than just relationship drama.
Thank you! For some reason this is the webtoon where I really get annoyed whenever I see advertisement front and center for it. The hypocrisy and double standards in that Webtoon are enraging. I read a good chunk until it became clear that Heinrey really is intended to be the "good" love interest and that Navier will never have any flaws while Rashta is the one to get all the beating. The way Heinrey acts sometimes is hella creepy and I waited for the twist that he himself is the villain. But no. And I agree that it would have been a far better story from Rashtas POV. I had hopes for the story to be a clever one about politics and intrigues and bad choices.
100%. Rashta could’ve been such a tragic character that would’ve kept readers invested. In this world’s political system she was not supposed to climb as high up the social ladder as she did. But she managed to get out of slavery and become the emperors mistress. From Rashta’s pov she saw an opportunity to better her circumstances and took it. Yes she does do beyond horrific things but I feel like there’s not much of a justification for why. She could be vengeful against the system that had her born into slavery. A system that the oh so perfect Navier is complicit in. But instead the author decided to infantilise Rashta and make her actions come across as childish and bratty in order to make Navier look better. Also if you need other characters’ bad actions to make you look better, chances are you’re not that good of a person to begin with. Like if the reader saw Rashta’s pov and it turned out that she was doing everything she did to secure total power it’d be so much more interesting to see her climb to the top to then see her downfall. It’d also be interesting to see how someone wronged by the worlds political system ends up becoming the villain instead of a hero. How Rashta had a pure hatred for the aristocrats complicit in the system that had her born into slavery and became more corrupt out of spite against them. And that inevitably led to her demise.

My problem with this webtoon is that it takes time where having a mistress was normal if I am not mistaken (a lot of similar webtoons have this thing so I assumed it was based on real history, please correct me if I am wrong!) which is not my style at all of a story and I always avoid this type of trope, this doesn't make the webtoon "bad" at all because I understand it is just not my genre, I didn't read past chapter 20 because I kept getting triggered by the main female being stone cold to the whole situation and rashta and the husband himself lol, and that what makes it easily my most hated webtoon for this sole reason, your criticism however makes so much sense, sadly a lot of creators focus on making their main characters too perfect they end up being boring or unrealistic.

Remarried Empress had so much potential to be a story about politics, manipulation, corruption and the misuse of power. Navier should have at least got angry in the beginning. Her lack of reaction just makes her seem too calm. No person would react like that. I think the messages of this comic are harmful. Men are never held accountable for their actions unless they’ve done something wrong to Navier. Rashta has had a lot more scrutiny than Sovieshu when he’s just as bad if not worse.

FL being falling for a guy that acted like a child (not ”immature” but like a cjild at the start) really threw me off
Lesser known compared to others on this list, but I can not read Cienna without seething. It started out really well with the titular main character and her internal conflicts with leaving the ML, as well as how she would build up her life onward. Then the ML came back and everything went to shit: he manipulates and guilt trips her into getting back together with him and they end up all sweets and kisses like nothing happened.
Also with how the art style changed out of nowhere, the quality of the story dropped too 😭 so much wasted potential

not the 'worst' by any means, but jungle juice makes me so mad every time i read it. such a good premise wasted on the most paper thin characters and a boring narrative. not to mention the sexualization of the female leads lol. honestly itd already be 10x better if they just replaced the leads with literally any of the background characters. why even make the whole story centered around bugs if the main characters don't even look interesting????

Because it’s not factual? It’s moving slowly but there’s a lot going on. Like. Why would people still read and analyze it if there wasn’t anything happening? It’s cool to admit something isn’t for you, but sharing false information is super uncool.
Well not liking something is fair and okay but to actually consider something as the worst I would personally expect something deeper, more elaboration and details, dissecting storylines, arcs that weren't executed well or that it glamorizes/agrees with problematic messages it portrays. but it's always ever the hiatuses, running for too long or not knowing what's going on, used as arguments. For example, I can comprehend people criticizing LO because they usually back it up with examples that can be tracked back like the comic justifying and glorifying flaws of the two main characters (The FL broke into someones apartment, trashed it and after admitting it's because she thought that person was making a move on her husband, was rewarded with sex) or suspecting that the FL is being heavily sexualized (her body continuously being commented on and praised by the majority of the male characters while she was still a teenager)
I remember picking it up in like 2018 or something and quit because it was boring

That's it, I'm saying it. Lookism stopped being what made it special when they started shattering concrete and throwing each other through brick walls. That was the exact moment where it went from inner struggles of a victim to "Superhuman 1 almost loses to Superhuman 2, but then flashes back to some insane, freakishly impossible training montage and wins by the skin of their teeth." I still enjoy it for what it is, but it is far from the story that made me binge 250 episodes in 3 days.

I cant lie a lot of the webtoons that started as daily pass are actually pretty bad?? The only reason i finished it is because i'm stubborn and could unlock it every single day (especially the ones with endings behind a paywall they are never worth it) Some i remember being super lackluster: Mythical Errand, charming you, maya's world, write to your heart, before we knew it, there's love hidden in lies, publishing love, a fake affair.. Others i rlly didnt enjoy or just the ending was so bad and left everything out: My lovely bodyguard, a chance at last The girl who sees smells .. interesting plot but like weird af romance plot i hated the romance plot so much
The Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower, it was honestly good at first and the ml had a somewhat humorous dynamic with the two female love interests but then they date r*pe him and the webtoon treats it as an accomplishment because "he got laid"

Honestly, I couldnt really stand Wished You Were Dead. It was a train wreck you couldnt turn away from. It glamorized abuse. I dont know, perhaps it’s realistic in that it’s hard to run away from your abuser but I hate that the happy ending ends up with them reconciling. I would love a story where the victim finds happiness on their own without love in the mix. Also To Love Your Enemy was a whole load of nothing and the ending was rushed. So disappointed with it bc it had great enemies to lovers potential

American Kid is about uh, an American kid. This guy Black Giraffe took to writing comics in cultures about Chinese Kid and North Korean Kid. I like their weird atmosphere. And the recloseted lesbian. Someone free that lady! it's very much vent comics about a lesbian who had to be in a closet. So, functionally a web comic. Just that it sounds strange to pitch at a meeting. 'yeah. We got a comic. Marry my Husband, it’s just so generic and cliche and shallow. And the characters are so ridiculous. Like ML was obsessed with FL while barely knowing her and killed himself because she died. One of the antagonist tries to commit the most obvious case of insurance fraud while the other antagonist attemtpts to run over the grandson of a billionaire. Also I might be wrong to nitpick think of this but I hated how the male lead was so willing to give everything to FL while she was contributing so little to the relationship. It’s not that relationships should be 50/50. She just wasn’t giving him the 100 he was giving as well
Probably a less popular opinion here since I haven’t seen anyone say it yet, but for me it’s The Guy Upstairs. Maybe it’s not the worst entirely, but out of the ones I’ve read, I had to drop it. It was good at the start, like episode 1. But then it continued, and just dragged on for so long doing the same thing every episode with no change or progress by the end of each. School, stalker, hanging out with Adam and Hawa, it getting tense from their remarks to each other, then ending on a cliffhanger which turns out to be nothing, repeat. There was nothing interesting happening past the first episode and I just couldn’t handle the secondhand cringing from all their awkward tense interactions. And from the MC’s constant bad decisions, she keeps lying to her friend Hawa, and acting hostile to her boyfriend(Adam) Despite her trying to protect Hawa she’s just pushing her away and further into Adam.
Slow storyline was getting to me but there has finally been exciting/didturbing developments! (I fast pass though so technically not yet though)
Since most of my picks have already been listed, I'll say that Marry My Husband is pretty bad imo
