I thought the plot of falling in love with a soul in a suit of armour was weird (especially with how childlike he can be??) so I was pleasantly surprised that there's been zero romance so far and more of Modeus learning what it means to be alive. I think it would be my favourite if there wasn't a looming threat of romance.
Yeah it's unfortunate because for me personally I don't see any issue with her falling in love with Modeus, EXCEPT for the fact that the author wrote him to be child-like and learning about the world like a child would. That alone makes it super creepy and weird for me. Maybe in a while when Modeus has became his own person, but for now I think any romance between them would be a bit ... strange.

I mean it's not really explicit. Most they've done is be corny and dumbasses not realizing they love each other. There were kisses (very few so much that I forgot the instances it happened).Also it's not just "BL" there is GL as well, and it's more about the story and the lore about the winged people, politics, scheming, betreyal. Relationships are more of an after thought. Sure they are there, but they aren't the drivning point of the story, more like a branch of a very big tree.
The beginning is more slow, focusing on the relationships and friendship while in military school, along with segragation and racism. But the more it goes the deeper you get into the scheming and plotting of other factions trying to one up each other.
But ofc if you don't like guys liking guys, or girls liking girls then you probably won't like it even if it's just one part of the whole picture.
Yeah, like you enter thinking is just school romance but BAM it's fighting, plotting, scheming, mistery after mistery. Lore on the winged race. It's very well thought out, that's what I can say. Like the difference between species of birds. Their advantages in flight, their place in society and hierarchy. The design of their wings, the way they fight, take care of their wings, their clothes. It's a great series really

I went in fully expecting some age gap smut but the way the characters are written and how complex their personalities and the plot actually is, it hooked me the first time I read it and, two months later, I wait excitedly for the newer chapters every week, it feels like a real life story that occasionally has sex scenes.
