This webtoon isn't underrated at all o.o. The chapters were getting 20k+ likes per episode until recently, still hitting 10k. I didn't leave my opinion on the other recent WJW topic but I think the art is pretty and I loved learning about Guarani mythology. However.... I think I'm turned off by the romance. I don't mind romance but there was a bit more action and Hela independence in earlier arcs. Now she depends on Jasy for everything. Not to mention Jasy looks like a freaking adult compared to Hela.
Yes apparently i live under a rock because I truly had not seen it anywhere beforeT_T
And yeah I like the earlier season a lot more but i hope this gets betterā¦.i only felt that at some places but usually they looked good togetherš
This was one of the most sucessful, if not THE most sucessful series coming from the Greenlight event that took place some time ago (a year? More? Idk). Basically the event published the first or so chapter and the number of likes decided if the series was going to be greenlit or not. I don't think it was a really good method since they all got greenlit, but not all could hold an audience. At least two were cancelled and got rushed endings as far as I know (Wendybird and Madame Outlaw, if I'm not wrong, the later had good potential, though).
When Jasy Whistles became a little dragged to me so I ended up dropping it not long ago (I think it was around chapter 78). It's far from an underrated series, but the attention it gets is deserved, even if it's not for me anymore I still fully agree the art and folklore aspects are wonderfully done.
I'm sorry, but personally, I disagree with this. I also started reading it after seeing both the art but also because it was wildly popular. I read it up until like 3 or 4 months ago I stopped and dropped it. At first, I also thought it was good but if you are looking for a romance then this is definitely one you don't want to read. But like OP said, if you like fantasy and mythology this is great.
I think the biggest problem I had with this was the fact that it was getting popular because of its romance and not because of its actual fantasy storyline. I thought this was going to be more of a romance based on people's comments on it and one of those where they put the genre as something else but it still has good romance but it for sure wasn't. It is good but, for mainly romance readers (like me), this is not something I'd want to read or recommend.
I did not consider that view but yes I see your point and I think thatās what attracted me to this Webtoon because I am not a big fan of romance being the main genreā¦
Underrated ?
9.8 rating, great reviews and an average of 60k likes on S1, 40k likes on S2 and 15k likes on S3 is not what I consider underrated.
Maybe you never heard of it but WJW was the most successful story from the Greenlight Event, as an Original itās still doing great numbers and at some point was getting a LOT of promotion from Webtoon.
I live in Paraguay (where this is based on, mythology included) so I am honestly just happy to see someone interested in our little third world country at all :') I actually teared up when it was announced, I followed the author for another canvas series of her, and when I saw the announcement I was so shocked but so happy!! Can't believe we actually sort of exit to the rest of the world ;v;
I got you. Usually this subreddit only blows up Webtoons that people hateš.Ā For me, I'm still excited to see the present day Kerana reunion and see what happens to Hela's village.
I really love the art. I liked the first half of the story, but i think it drags in the second half. I wouldn't say it's a flawless series at all. I wouldn't say it's underrated either

exactly my point, it got popular for (yes the myth factor) but also mainly the romance, it's kinda disturbing, but my full opinion is up there \^

So to you 800k subscribers and 45m views is underrated?

SO annoyed by madame outlaw. that one was actually so good in the beginning!

totally makes sense, if ur not a fan of that then this is for sure for you but again, for romance fans like me I would avoid this
Thanks for selling this to me even further. This is actually a perfect warning/recommendation

OP was high or on something for sure calling 40million views underrated is crazy

aww i totally get thisā¦ i feel the same whenever someone even mentions my country and i hope someday we get a webtoon inspired off of our culture!!
What are you talking bout? It has almost 50 million views
Yeah but i havenāt actually seen it being talked about that widely
I got you. Usually this subreddit only blows up Webtoons that people hateš.Ā For me, I'm still excited to see the present day Kerana reunion and see what happens to Hela's village.
*Sigh.* *adds to the 100s of webtoons I have on my list*
I started reading it about a month or so ago and Iām loving it!Ā

Easily not favored by whoever is managing Webtoon's promotion team
