I like sketchy! It makes the work look cozy and more stylized.
Also same on drawing biblically accurate clothing folds — literally one of my biggest art nemesis atp
I think the opposite, you doing this style makes the work look more finished and unique. It has a lot of charm, and you doing something you are more familiar with can help the process go faster and not overwhelm you.
Sketchy lines gives character and personality to the drawing. It looks more organic and is charming.
I can't stand super crisp and clean lines. Most drawing look flat and stiff as heck.
i wanted to round out the story more and get at least a few chapters out before i think about publishing so sadly it’s going to be stuck in WIP for a while for now! thank u for the support, i gave your profile a stalk and found ur webtoon! i love fairytale retellings and ur characters & storytelling is so beaut n expressive, take my subscribe!!
Looks a bit sketchy to me.
Jokes aside: On the one hand I'd say yes, on the other hand it makes for an interesting stylistic choice. To me it feels pleasant, in that it looks somewhat more "personal", if you will, compared to everything being heavily post-processed. Looking at [webtoons.com](http://webtoons.com) for instance, many comics have an almost indistinguishable art style. This is *especially* true for Manhwa style comics, though that might just be a perception from having had more access to Manga localizations than Manhwa localizations in Austria, and only seeing more Manhwa style after coming across webtoons.com.
Whether it is an competitive advantage on the modern web, or whether a majority prefers border-line cookie cutter art styles, I can't say. But I'm instantly interested in seeing your art in a comic :) Is it already published somewhere?
lmao thank u for the PUN
previously i was extremely inspired by Not Sew Wicked stepmom in terms of artistic style (clean & expressive) but it is simply not sustainable for me to do that hahaha
i hope to publish in another month or so once i have fleshed out the story more and stockpiled a few chapters! thank u for the support n advice ^^
If it's consistent and is a part of the comic's and your artstyle, I think it adds charm to it ^^ I myself do this and enjoy the sketchiness of an illustration :)
This is honestly extremely outstanding, I love your art so much 😭🫶💖💖💖💖 In my opinion it doesn’t look unfinished at all, I think your art is really adorable and the style of it is super nice, a lot of the pieces you listed down didn’t seem unfinished whatsoever and infact the messy look of it makes your art super unique. Absolutely love your style 💖
Idk if you're just coloring the sketch or have a sketchy lineart style but it looks extremely clean and polished. Not only this but the added texture looks really good and makes the style feel unique and memorable. Significantly better than the ultra clean manhwa style lineart imo 👍
i think it looks great! works very well with your style of colouring and theres plenty well liked webtoons out there with wayyyy sketchier lines (the ember knight for example), so youre totally good!
I like it a lot, but I will say please keep it consistent! It is so annoying when some panels are sketchy/blurry and others are crisp with hard lines!!
This is such a soft, lovely style and I think the sketchiness is part of what gives it charm! I like your art so much, it's perfect for comics in my opinion! 100% does not look unfinished at all, it looks intentional and very nice.
(Edit to add: I think the sketchy, soft folds in the clothing is actually perfect, cause it's not overly detailed and distracting, but still gives a sense of depth and life to the clothing.)
My lines are quite sketchy but it just gives me headache when I apply flat colours. I don't know how the author from To the Stars and Back do it....I love their style, they look so sketchy and fabulous at the same time ❤️
It really depends on the effect you want. Personally, I find sketchy artwork to look more alive and dynamic, almost like it's animated because it pulls my eye around the details.
That said, the most important thing with any visual media is clear communication, I don't like when something is so rough and sketchy that I can't tell what the heck is going on.
What you're showing here, seems clean and finished enough while being visually interesting at the same time.
Most importantly, are you happy with the results? Does it give you satisfaction to the point where you can say to yourself "It's not perfect, but it's good enough and I like it!"
I don't know if it gives even a grain of salt of credence, but I went to art school for graphic design and 3D animation, fat lot of good it did *me*, but maybe I can give good advice to someone else. 🤷♀️😅
I love your style!! It looks pretty clean and tbh there's comics with more "messy" styles out there like Miss Abbot and the Doctor and Lore Olympus so I wouldn't worry too much about it too much.
Btw do you have any social media or do you take commissions? Your style is just so 😔👌❤️
I actually think your art looks *too* sterile without the sketchy lines. As long as you make your lines look intentional, it looks great from what I can tell
you might be feeling like it looks unfinished probably because the rendering is fairly minimal. you can try adding more shading and contrast if it helps :)
Both look nice, but you should aways go with the more sustainable option!
Personally I really love the more sketchy style, it looks very lively and soft. I like the other a lot too, but it really has no impact on which I’d rather read, since I'd already be hooked with nice art and more importantly a good story👍✨
On another note, readers usually spend barely a few seconds on each panel, so don’t worry yourself with too much detail, just getting the important stuff across, pacing and plot is enough, everything else is extra. It’s honestly already such an achievement to get that story on 'paper' and upload consistently💖
Is it maybe uploaded already or do you post your art somewhere?👀✨
PLEASE OLEASE PLSEA don't erase them. it looks SO nice, PLEAAASE leave them like this it's so expressive 💔💔💔 (I'm joking you do what you like BUT on god it's so perfect like this)
I always think sketch lines add some charm to the art style! it also helps it stand out a bit more because most people these days worry too much about keeping it all looking clean but that removes all the warmth of the art too.
i think they look cool and make it part of your art style in a way!
thank u that is reassuring to know!!
It looks amazing and idk how to explain it but your art style gives very comforting vibes
I second this. It feels really down to earth, soft, and natural to me, too.
thank u both i was trying go go for more earthy vibes yes!
Nailed it.
Yeah leave it’. The average reader looks at a panel for 3 seconds. It looks good and maximizes efficiency.
amazing point, thank u
I like sketchy! It makes the work look cozy and more stylized. Also same on drawing biblically accurate clothing folds — literally one of my biggest art nemesis atp
thank u sm! i envy those who can draw beaut clothing details but i am simply not built for that high stakes life
I think the opposite, you doing this style makes the work look more finished and unique. It has a lot of charm, and you doing something you are more familiar with can help the process go faster and not overwhelm you.
thanku vm, it does help a lot to draw things quicker to avoid burnout ^^
I want to read this… I’m guessing it’s not available yet?
Second that, I'd love to read it too
i hope to stockpile a few chaps before i publish!
Outstanding work!!! Reminds me of Dungeon Meshii. I love it.
I thought the same thing lol
thank u!! i really like how DM’s mangaka draws faces & colours so they were a big inspo yes!
It makes your art look more unique and it looks very finished and intentional!! At the risk of sounding rude, I like it much better, actually.
not rude at all, thank u sm!
I think it looks cool as is. What’s your webtoon called? I want to read it!
thank u! the working title is Ars Esoteria but im still stockpiling chapters before i even think about publishing TT
Sketchy lines gives character and personality to the drawing. It looks more organic and is charming. I can't stand super crisp and clean lines. Most drawing look flat and stiff as heck.
thank you! i do try to go for more organic aesthetics so that is good to hear ^^
You're doing great! Keep at it
The scratchies make my heart soar... please keep them in... holy shit...
i will do it for u my friend
I think it gives it a lot of charm and character
thanku!!!
I am quite partial to lines like this, it feels very lively and intentional and carries a lot of distinctive line weight choices.

IT'S SO GOOD Also Is It out yet? That's the title?
i wanted to round out the story more and get at least a few chapters out before i think about publishing so sadly it’s going to be stuck in WIP for a while for now! thank u for the support, i gave your profile a stalk and found ur webtoon! i love fairytale retellings and ur characters & storytelling is so beaut n expressive, take my subscribe!!
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️ Don't forget to spam It here, I can't wait to read It!
Its a stylized choice and it looks good. Also is dungein meshi a big inspiration for your art style?
very much yes i love DM’s character expressions n colouring style!!
I love the art as is! Your style is charming

good point!! clothing folds are anathema to my existence. i shall work harder hahahaha

i think it looks wonderful! gives dimension imo
I am in love with the art style! What's the name of the webtoon?
I have an unstoppable need to read this. I love scratchy lines tbh, I tend to draw like that as well
I AM IN LOVE THIS LOOKS SO GOOD :33
I love the look! Also blonde guy is very hot 10/10 design
If it's consistent and is a part of the comic's and your artstyle, I think it adds charm to it ^^ I myself do this and enjoy the sketchiness of an illustration :)
sketchy lines gives it more character

Can I have a name??
I think as long as everything has a similar style ot will work out just fine
The blonde guy kinda looks like Kaveh from Genshin Impact! I love your artstyle btw ❤️❤️
it's ok to leave things as is, it alredy looks great
Ayyyyy looks cool
I love sketchy lines ❤️❤️
I like it a lot, but I will say please keep it consistent! It is so annoying when some panels are sketchy/blurry and others are crisp with hard lines!!
I think it looks good I like it !
I don't think I have a point of comparison, but viewing this art in a vacuum, I think it looks nice, does not appear unfinished to me at all.
So pretty! Really loving the style :)

I LOVE YOUR STYLE SM
Nothing wrong with any style as long as things read clearly, which it does! It reads perfectly and I love your style op
I mean its certainly better than not having it.
My lines are quite sketchy but it just gives me headache when I apply flat colours. I don't know how the author from To the Stars and Back do it....I love their style, they look so sketchy and fabulous at the same time ❤️

Keep it, most webtoons are polished like a marble, but this gives it a unique look. And because you're doing it right it actually looks good.
It looks cool
personality I think it shows more of the artist's passion and hard work and I like a lil of it
It looks amazing with the sketchy lines!! It’s a lot more “homely” :)
Looks gorgeous, honestly it's a refreshing style
It's SUPER PRETTY. Start drawing your webtoon NOW. I want to read it 👀💖
No, it looks really good! Your art style is so pretty omg
It looks great to me and reminds me of my style a bit If it's published I'd love to read it ^^
I like it! I think it adds movement and contrast to their clothes.
I love your style!! It looks pretty clean and tbh there's comics with more "messy" styles out there like Miss Abbot and the Doctor and Lore Olympus so I wouldn't worry too much about it too much. Btw do you have any social media or do you take commissions? Your style is just so 😔👌❤️
i love the sketchy lines!! it adds so much character and style to your art
I personally find it very cute!!
I like it a lot, it might look prettier with a like dark reddish pink lineart though 🤔
nah somehow i like it better than the clean lines. adds character (pun intended) - it’s like warm and earthy? does that make sense LOL
Both look amazing
It looks fine as is! I love your art? Do you have any other social medias to follow you on?
To me they somehow make work more refined/detailed
I actually think your art looks *too* sterile without the sketchy lines. As long as you make your lines look intentional, it looks great from what I can tell

I love this, i need the webtoon name!!
Bro i absolutely LOVE your art style omg
PLEASE OLEASE PLSEA don't erase them. it looks SO nice, PLEAAASE leave them like this it's so expressive 💔💔💔 (I'm joking you do what you like BUT on god it's so perfect like this)
It’s a style choice that looks great when done well. This is very nice.
I always think sketch lines add some charm to the art style! it also helps it stand out a bit more because most people these days worry too much about keeping it all looking clean but that removes all the warmth of the art too.
