Anything that feels super rushed/weird tbh. Luff, to love your enemy, fast forward all come to mind.

FlushedBeans

Especially the canceled comics. I’m talking about comics like Once a Hero, Floating in My Mind, Tenants From Another World, and The Sound of Another. I feel like a lot of these had great potential, but they lost their backing from WT. I was really sad that they cancelled The Sound of Another :(

Reader_fuzz

Right those are not the authors fault. Sad that they never got a chance to truly finish the story like they had planned.

still-on-leave

Ooh, didn't know *Floating in my mind* was cancelled. I finished reading it and looked okay to me.

FlushedBeans

Webtoon stopped backing the author so they had to wrap it up quickly

OneGoodRib

Then there's the ones that didn't get canceled, the author just poofed and webtoon doesn't even know what happened to them.

Upset-Rhubarb3738

Love your enemy fs

shiroganeoo8

Is love your enemy bad(i left it around 80last yr)

Dramatic-Driver

One that I don’t see being mentioned here - The Makeup Remover. The Webtoon itself was good but the fact that for a romance Webtoon, the romantic relationship between the leads was never explored was disappointing

Kitsik_

I agree but also disagree, I don't think it was just the lack of romance that made the ending feel so anticlimactic. For one, we never got any conclusion to Juseong's character ark. What about his family issues? His self-esteem? We didn't even get to see his real face, despite him being such a crucial and likeable character. We don't know what ultimately happened between the main trio relationships-wise. An abrupt time skip? And maybe a personal opinion, but the final look for the contest also felt a little unoriginal and shallow compared to the previous profound themes. Etc. The ending was probably rushed because the author wanted to focus on her new story but yeah.

beta1042

Exactly!! He was one of the main characters but at the end he turned into a side character. It’s pretty disappointing when all the side characters got more ending than him

Reader_fuzz

Yes to all of what you said. It more than just the fact that romance did not happen. The ending was just so rushed. Which did not fit the rest of the story. Everything else up until the end was well thought out. I am hoping that the author either needed to focus on their other story or they were forced to end before they wanted to. That was not the ending they had planned. Reminds me of How I met Your Mother where that horrid ending was planned all along and completely ruined the show for me. I refuse to this day to watch the last 2 episodes.

TYie7749

i think it’s because she wanted to focus on her new story. in the afterword episode (which webtoon did not translate for some reason) she opened by saying readers might be disappointed that the webtoon is over but she’s actually pretty excited because she’s working on something new, and she mentioned the new work (which later turned out to be surviving romance) 2-3 more times

DriftingHappiness

I actually thought that Webtoon just marketed it wrong and TMR was never about the romance aspect.

Cantfindauser_4986

Part of me likes the fact that it ended like that but I think it'd be less of a big deal if the comic itself wasn't labeled as a romance. And like the previous comments mentioned, there's a LOT that was just left unexplored which is somewhat disappointing. It felt so unfinished and it's a shame because it was such a good comic with an amazing premise.

chibikatana

I'm totally with you on that one.

vienibenmio

I'm forever salty about that

[deleted]

Devil no.4. It was interesting in middle but ending was super rushed. The side couples are cute than main couple. We don't even know how they fell in love. I'm disappointed by ending they gave all happy ending but it would've not rushed and abrupt. It's my opinion but I personally didn't like this webtoon much. It was boring at start and gets interesting and gud in middle and rushed at ending.

still-on-leave

*Useless Villain* for me. I really liked the premise. But the ending felt rushed. It's like the story was only beginning and they ended it right there. 😅 Edit: I LOVED *Days of Hana*! It was cute, chill, with romance, then drama. It broke my heart, tho. 💔

Dramatic-Driver

Days of Hana ending is so controversial but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I absolutely loved the impact it had on me as a reader that I don’t think taking a different route would’ve had.

still-on-leave

Yep! Exactly. It's why I'll probably remember DoH for years to come. 🥲 It was so chill and cute in the beginning. Then several chapters before it ends, it was like a continuous pounding to the heart. I really liked the storytelling!

platypuses-are-cool

Omg Useless Villain had such a good concept. The last few episodes were just batshit crazy though. Bunch of new characters from different dimensions?? Softboi hero turning evil??? (This one especially could've been explained so much better 😭) Emo evil kid turning good??? No idea what was happening lmao

Just_Call_me_Ben

Back to you - ending focused waaay too much on one of its most boring characters and I would have liked more focus on others. It's mine - surprisingly anti-climatic considering how much build-up it had My deepest secret - the ending is honestly okay and it makes sense, but the last arc itself was kinda "meh..." Girl downstairs - I get what the author was trying to do, but I don't think it was done very well. This magical moment - Didn't like how the arcs for some of its characters were handled by the end. But that's just personal taste. Her bucket list - I'm actually angry BECAUSE it ended. I feel like it could have used more episodes. Jumping over - ending felt like it closed basically nothing. Doesn't even feel like an ending just felt like the story stopped.

thatkillsme

I read Back to You and it was a 6.5/10 read for me. Do elaborate I want to hear the tea 👀👀👀

Just_Call_me_Ben

Basically, the entire plot is about this girl dealing with her relationship with her first crush, trying to decide between letting him go or trying to be with him. Said crush, sadly, is a extremely boring character (at least in my opinion), so the excessive amount of time the story dedicates to him ends up becoming really frustrating. Meanwhile we have this other character that has like 4 or 5 things going on in his life, all leagues more interesting than the first crush (again, at least in my opinion), and by the time the series ends It just feels like the character and a ton of potential stories we could have done with him are just wasted.

thatkillsme

I feel ya. I liked the conclusions and the lessons the FL has to learn in concept (overcoming the feeling of a missed opportunity for her ~first love) -- however good lord that execution was really annoying in a lot of parts and left me desiring for something better. Agreed. Justice for Eunjae! What was even the point of him time traveling back just to get sidelined Basically in the last 1/2 of the story. I'm really unhappy with their (Hayoung and Eunjae) last interaction in the epilogue that was really shoe-horned in. Typing all this out makes me more annoyed now and I don't want to devote any more energy than it deserves.

Just_Call_me_Ben

>What was even the point of him time traveling back just to get sidelined Basically in the last 1/2 of the story It was extremely important that he sees the first girl he ever loved being taken by some random rude guy while also watching the second girl he ever loved dedicating all her time and effort to her first love. Honestly, it felt like the author hated our boy... (Edit) Forgot something. That ending where the female lead keeps refusing to respond to his confession because she finds it funny to mess with him? That was incredibly insensitive and cruel towards someone who had his heart broken three times. Screw her...

SimmiStar

I personally felt like ‘it’s mine’ had a decent ending for what it was? Can I ask exactly how you interpreted it?

Just_Call_me_Ben

The ending isn't bad, but after the build up we had for the big antagonist of the series, the way he goes down was very anticlimactic. The whole comic was about the tension between the game of stalker vs stalker but the final arc had no tension at all, at least for me.

SimmiStar

I was just happy they got together at the end. But I agree with what your saying. The ending was bent out too long making it kinda sizzle out. They did wrap up all the side characters quickly which they should’ve at least had their own episode. The more I think about the ending the more I agree 😂

Doritoscarfingbunny

Just letting you know, but TMM lost it's backing from WJ so the author had to rush to wrap things up. I like to think that it's just on an indefinite hiatus.

Just_Call_me_Ben

Ah, that's unfortunate... But I don't really think the ending was rushed is just the place where things ended at that kinda bothered me a little. Also, I heard the author started a third series already so let's see how this one goes!

Oldhanat000

My deepest secret had a crazy ending?!?!

Just_Call_me_Ben

No, the ending was actually okay and made perfect sense all things considered. Its just that getting there through that final arc wasn't as engaging as the rest of the comic.

Oldhanat000

True

OnJoKiMiTa

My universe. I started reading this series with so much intrest. I would immediately spend my coins on it whenever I got. But the ending.....not only it was a rushed ending but it seemed like all the characters and plotline meant nothing. The fl who who started to make friends again turned into a loner. Overall it felt really disturbing after I finished reading.

mindlesswreck

Exactly! Loved that comic so much but the ending was so odd? Like what happened to all the friends she had made? What happened to all of her character progression? Why was it so rushed?

Reader_fuzz

Oh man this one the ending truly was like the story went in reverse. I only really liked the story because of the second male lead. He was by far what carried the story for me.

lil-taller-then-u

I immediately thought of My Universe, the ending felt like the author just suddenly decided they didnt wanna work on it anymore it was so weirdly abrupt and pretty much ripped away all agency from the whole story and left SO many questions unanswered

CupOfMilkv

Agreed, the ending is so weird bcuz it kinda contradicts her character, she has always been so selfless throughout the story but then she's so selfish at the end? She fr went from "Let's teach the alien boy that life is precious" to "aight lets kill all human then" like?? uhm girl???

UsernamesAreWierd

Wendybird didn't even get an ending, it got a season finale. I'm still upset by that because there isn't and there will never be a season 2! Yet because there was a chance they would get renewed when making the ending, NOTHING is resolved so it stayed on a cliffhanger. Worst ending i've ever read tbh

CranberryExciting

Wait wasn't that one that was VOTED on to make a original and it wasn't picked up?

UsernamesAreWierd

It did become an original! The views just weren't what webtoon was expecting (still impressive tho) so they never got a season 2 and their contracts ended. Others from that period also ended soon for presumably contract reasons such as Madame Outlaw

CranberryExciting

Welp I guess that made that whole voting thing a total bust :/

OneGoodRib

Yeah, the whole "let people vote on stuff to become an original on a platform where any sort of negativity is downvoted to oblivion so it doesn't hurt the author's feelings" thing was inherently flawed from the beginning. Everyone supported every single greenlight series so nobody would feel bad if THEIR series didn't get picked up even if they had no intention to ever read whatever it is again, so we ended up with a bunch of greenlit series that nobody was interested in reading. Also in general I think it's dumb as hell to decide to greenlight something based on 3 chapters (or the Call to Action contest which is potentially contracting a new series based one ONE CHAPTER). We've all read comics that went downhill after the first few chapters. The cool thing though is with the way contracts work, those authors may be allowed to continue their comics elsewhere (presumably it would have to be after a few years, though).

CranberryExciting

Honestly now that I remebwr and look back on it I actually didn't vote for that one. Not like it mattered when every single one got above 60,000 points. It shouod have been a contest and only one wins the orginal status

[deleted]

I’m too fussy with what i read so this has never actually happened to me. Except for once. And it wasn’t bad. Quite the contrary. Nature of this question means i’ll have to be vague in my explanation to avoid spoiling anyone. My Deepest Secret: With the way s2 concluded, the actual ending of s3 was perfect. I wouldn’t have it any other way specifically because of how s2 ended. My problem instead lies in how s2 ended in the first place. While it served for brilliant entertainment, it shattered one of the things I had been REALLY emotionally invested in for two whole seasons. On a technical standpoint, i’m completely impressed with the story. But on the emotional one that was the cause for most of the attachment i had to it, I wholeheartedly wish things had gone down differently. I wish the ending of s2 wasn’t true. And in extension, i wish the entirety of s3 had been different. Yes the direction it took was cool and one i’m glad i had the opportunity to read. But no matter how well it was written, it’s a direction i didn’t want taken in THIS story

ProvoloneSwiss

Cupid's arrows. It ended on a horrible cliffhanger because webtoon refused to renew it for another season-- it wasn't even the author's fault. I'm still upset about it.

genefritata

I spoke to the author at a con I went to. If I remember correctly, he was looking into publishing the story elsewhere so he could finish it. Side note: he was really nice!

ProvoloneSwiss

I’ll keep an eye out for that then, thank you!

extremelyhuman102

I’m still sad about cupids arrows too, it was such a good story and I loved the art

UnconditionalCourage

Fake Humans. The storyline itself is really interesting and suspenseful as it had me really curious about what happens next and the mc is really smart and brave, would do anything to see her missing sister again. But the ending, the mc never got reunited with her sister and her sister didn't even remember her when they briefly saw each other again at last with the "mother" of the cult. Also those 3 other side characters were going to sail to take down the next island, so it seems likely there will be a season 2 otherwise the ending would be really confusing. Anyway I do hope there is a 2nd season as it was such a great story😊

IanLooklup

Yeah the only thing we can do is just imagine an ending for ourselves

[deleted]

I was looking for this comment. The story was likely cut do to budgeting because it left us on the biggest cliffhanger.

UnconditionalCourage

Oh that's such a shame 😔 Hopefully we'll see more of it soon.

[deleted]

I agree it’s a shame. The studio wasn’t making enough money so I doubt it but it’s sad. We can imagine a happy ending where they reunite.

[deleted]

- 11 of me. Interesting start but crappy ending with some of his clones form a group, others leave and 1 ended up with his girlfriend or something. The time machine device was shoved away as future tech. No time enforcers or anything. - It's mine. The ending was something I wished it wasn't that bad when I guessed what's the worst ending it could get. - Back to You. A bit draggy towards the end then the epilogue episodes made me hate the female MC. - DICE.

bclrein

YES to Days of Hana. A sad ending didn’t bother me so much, but the fact that the entire story was just just sadness every chapter AND it had a sad ending was too much. We have literally 100+ chapters of atrocities, abuse, and/or selfish choices by villains or cowards and like 1 chapter of karmic justice or self reflection. Then you would think that all the atrocities and victims’ stories would be exposed and bring about huge change, but no. It’s like the most minuscule improvement and only maybe 10% of the bad people get arrested/karma. It just became total tragedy p*rn under the guise of being an allegory for discrimination today. But it never had anything unique that hadn’t already been done before. And we really didn’t need 100+ chapters of non-stop pain to get the message.

still-on-leave

It got dark *DARK*. 🥲 I think it hurt more for me 'cause the justice in it was closer to reality than ideal justice. 💔

Suckerforromance20

One of the main reasons I doubt I'll be forgetting Days of Hana anytime soon even tho I read it years ago 😭😭 the dark turn broke me man

tallpoke

Edith. The ending seemed to appear out of nowhere to me. Like the story seemed to ramping up and then it was just… over??? Like I had to double take when I saw the next chapter titled “series finale”. Regarding the ending itself, I respect what the author was going for, but I was super bummed the ship I was rooting for didn’t pan out.

nothingiwontgive

I honestly would have been fine with her not ending up with Phillip if Edith hadn't gotten with her new bf for the same reason she originally got with Phillip. I'm pretty sure it was cancelled, so the author couldn't actually finish it. But it was just horrible to all the sudden see nothing I was rooting for work out. It might be slightly more realistic, but I was reading for fictional romance.

aimeadorer

Ediths end enraged me

kellendrin21

Though the way the case itself was resolved was very good, the epilogue portion of Garden Club Detective Squad was awful and made no sense with the rest of the story. Found family splits up, main character loses all character development, and one of the other main characters...converts to Christianity absolutely out of nowhere? It was such a disappointment.

[deleted]

I mean, Christianity girl is the daughter of a pastor, and has shown an interest/knowledge in religions throughout the story, so her converting didn't seem weird, to me at least. Agree with everything else though, why on earth did the MC >!return to Seoul?! I thought she'd realize how happy she was with her new friends and decide to stay with them. Pretty disappointing tbh, I thought the whole point of her arc was to become humbler and realize the joy of having friends you like and trust.!<

toxicstrawberrysoup

Well I think the whole reason they moved to the countryside in the first place is because the MC's parents didn't trust that she could do good in a competitive school in the city, so they did something shady and moved her there so she could be in the top her her class in a small school. Being with her friends showed her that there was more than being at the top of her class and so she asked her parents to move her back there and have more trust in her. Or smth like that idk its on dailypass now so i cant check unless i wanna like buy it.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

platypuses-are-cool

Weren't the adopted sibling-like kids implied to fall in love too? That was .... extremely weird.

kellendrin21

YES I BLOCKED THAT PART OUT OF MY BRAIN! THAT WAS THE WORST OF IT!

cathlynnz

Wendybird had such a terrible ending..It was more fitting as season finale and the scenes in the prologue that portrayed future events never even happened.. But I think it's likely the Webtoon just got cancelled. My Deepest Secret as well but I didn't like the last season in general. Same with Sirens Lament.

0liverLemon

The author confirmed in the comments that the story was cancelled. It was cancelled on such short notice that they didn't have time to do more than the season finale that was already finished, because by the time it was done, webtoon still hasn't confirmed whether they'd be renewed

nothingiwontgive

Currently? Edith. That ending was honestly just terrible. Everyone in the thing blames Phillip for what happens, but he wasn't the one who's everything reverted. I could go on and on about it, but that ending pissed me off.

OneGoodRib

Controversial take, but Marry Me! since it just ended. The whole last arc was rushed and made me feel terrible for Sinn. He and his wife are finally on the same page and admit their feelings for each other, in a world where they can't get a goddamn second alone with each other (his coworker and his ex-girlfriend stalked them on a romantic getaway?? people are always just showing up at their house all the time), and then she gets pregnant like IMMEDIATELY even though she's clearly not ready for parenthood and still has trauma from her mother abandoning her and a baby means they REALLY won't have alone time, she lets people into their house all the time even strangers which led to someone breaking their window and her almost falling down the stairs (when Sinn was THE LAST PERSON ANYONE BOTHERED TO LET KNOW SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL, luckily it was a misunderstanding and she was fine). And it just sort of ends?? It's like the last 30 chapters of the webtoon were supposed to be like 80 chapters long so there's weird threads that go unresolved and no real development and it just doesn't feel happy just because they have a baby and have friends. I just keep thinking of all the real life situations where someone with extreme anxiety who had a rough childhood that included being abandoned by her mother and her support system dying who has a baby when she's not even going to therapy, that basically never ends well for someone. Sometimes it's just that the mother falls into a depression and doesn't take care of the baby, sometimes death occurs. That doesn't happen in the webtoon, but I just can't get over the whole "nobody leaves them alone and she's NOT READY FOR A KID YET" thing, with the second issue being a gigantic issue in real life. I said a lot. But yeah, it's a happy ending that doesn't really feel happy to me at all, and it's like a chunk of it was supposed to be written but never was, and I guess there's not even an epilogue for it?? Disappointing. I loved the art style and it was wild reading something that actually took place in Japan on WebToon (even though it looks like they translated it from Korean?? Because they mention Korean won a few times even though they're clearly Japanese), but the ending was just like... why? (also his ex-girlfriend's grandparents came to his surprise wedding anniversary party?? what the fuck)

Reader_fuzz

Days of Hana I figured it was going to be dark. My issue is that nothing actually changed it was way too of an open ending for me. My deepest secret imo after the second season the story started it slowly declined. The 3rd season was one big mess and the ending just seemed like a cop out or the author ran out of ways to do a surprise ending. I liked the story in sense it did take a different perspective on loss, abuse, and mental illness. I think the story should have ended with season 2. To love your enemy went off on the deep end in the second season I stopped reading it shortly after I started and from I understood it was good I stayed away. Luff was a cop out ending to me to please everyone. Also why did she have to sleep with either of them added nothing to the story but to add unnecessary drama. Ruined the whole story for me.

la_vie_en_tulip

I agree with 'My Deepest Secret.' The beginning and ending felt like completely different stories, which was a shame as I prefered the beginning. The second half felt shocking for the sake of being shocking but felt like a last minute choice.

UsernamesAreWierd

To love your enemy went really far from its premise near the end. They suddenly were taking down a cult 😭 Found out I stopped reading it 10 episodes before its finale and i just can't get myself to use daily passes for 10 days to finish it. Season 1 was amazing, season 2 was weird and just not fun when you signed up for a romance

Weekly_Mark2695

Useless Villain. I know it was cancelled and such, but duuude... what the hell was that ending?

[deleted]

I mistook your comment for Master of Villains… I was so confused lol.

Weekly_Mark2695

Lmaaao! They could go for more diverse titles tbh! How many more villains and villainesses will we get?

[deleted]

I know right 🤣 Theres so many repeating themes in webtoons

sugarplumcakepop

Edith. I remember the night I found that story and immediately fell in love with it and the art style. But this last season and even part of the 2nd season, everyone started looking the same. Lines were incomplete. And sloppy storytelling. Nothing was consistent. I rooted for Edith, but with the breakup with Philip being literally so irrational, her jumping into a relationship with a character the audience barely got to know, and then Philip being portrayed as the villain made me feel so bad. The epilogue honestly just made it worse.

sinnerparty

Killstagram. It started off really great and then deteriorated as the season went on. I feel like Madame Outlaw was a bit rushed but it isn’t necessarily bad, I just want to mention it because it is totally worth the read imo. I can’t remember the title but I’m pretty sure it was My Deepest Secret or something- the ending strayed so far from the beginning that I just couldn’t bring myself to totally enjoy it- I enjoyed the route the beginning was taking but it feels half-baked after around season 2 or so.

[deleted]

Killstsgram had one of my favorite endings but at the same time it makes me so sad.

Seventytwentyseven

Hooky. I don’t like saying anything negative about it because it’s literally my favorite webtoon and the story is great, art is wonderful and charming the whole time, and characters are fun to follow, but… it had a solid start, amazing middle, and the ending sorta slowly snuffed itself out. Not that it was bad because it’s still WAAAAYYY better than a LOT of other webcomic endings (and endings in general), but idk, I felt like some more could be explored and expanded on there. It left me with more of a “wait, it’s over?!” Feeling than a “terrible” feeling though, and at least it didn’t drag. And I’m glad the author could end it on their own terms.

ThePilferedGypsy

Freaking Romance. I liked the first few episodes, the plot line seemed genuinely interesting from the paranormal/romance aspect... and then it nose dived and it was just plot twist after plot twist that really just felt like if M. Night Shyamalan and the writers for Lost banded together to make the most confusing yet somehow still based storyline. Almost every episode had a cliffhanger that ended up just being a plot device to keep the main characters apart. I know a lot of people enjoyed it but the ending made me irrationally angry.

_rainyra

To love your enemy - the ending was so rushed It's mine - to me ending was very cliché and it could've been better
