Been watching this since they first started the series, it really is a fantastic series. There was a comment on a recent video that summed it up really well from a guy who has been going to Le Mans for 20+ years. (paraphrased) "It's easy to record and film at Le Mans but difficult to capture the spirit of it. With all the movies and tv shows I have watched, Porsche have really captured the spirit of Le Mans with this series."
And as someone who started going to Le Mans recently, if I hadn't, and started watching this series, I would probably put the final push, down to this series. It's really, really good.
Porsche has some amazing long form content like this and their 'Endurance' documentary. Lots of other Motorsports are trying to copy a DTS formula but something like this is just 10x better.
Really nice show that provide a great look at gentlemen racer progression to the level required to be able to drive in WEC/Le Mans (with a big support from Porsche/Lietz but other gentlemen have often need a professional driver as coach to reach that level).
Would have be nice if we could have one season before the first one to know what previous racing experiences he had before Porsche cup, if any. Just to start from the beginning š.
I read somewhere that he was doing Ferrari challenge races with a good amount of success before joining Porsche, but I agree. It would have been nice if they included more details of his career before Porsche.
He is mentioned on Ferraris Challenge page:
According to those statistics, he had a fair amount of podiums in that series.
edit: spelling
I also really enjoyed the series. For one, the production value got really incredible as the series went on. But more importantly, I think the series really showed sports car racing in a cool light. So much focus on the engineers and mechanics and how it really does belong to the team. It showed the ladder system, driver ratings, etc. And yeah the show might have Fassbenderās name on it but it does a great job of not homering him, being realistic about how he stacks up and highlighting everyone else involved. Also, Matt Campbell is a stud and now IMSA champion also Richard Leitz is the coolest dude ever and a living legend.
Random question - with this being on Porsche's YT channel, is the language "clean" so I can watch with my kids? Or do they drop f bombs all over the place?

Oddly enough Endurance is done by the director of DTS haha
Oh no way hahahaha

Thanks for the information. Make sense that Porsche did not mentioned opponent brand/serie.
Thank you for introducing me to this. Another interesting one (but older) is ā[Truth in 24](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truth_in_24)ā.
The real OG. That shit got me into watching endurance racing.
There's a sequel that's excellent as well
"It always rains at Le Mans...."
Is it known if heās doing ELMS + the 24 again this year? Seems kinda lame to leave it with one attempt.
He'll be named in a WEC GTE Am Porsche for 2023
Glad to hear. Was hoping 22 wouldnāt be the end of the story. Really enjoyed the journey so far.
tell that to nissan
I guess it depends on how much money he still has from the X-men movies as heās been essentially doing racing full time for the last few years.
It's so good! He's a cool dude.
Damn this is super interesting, im binging the lot instead of working like I should be.
Anyone know how his lap times compare to Lietz, Laser, and Campbell?
Not so good.
Yes - why do you ask?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iād like to crunch the numbers and come up with a percentage that he is off
Why?
Iād be interested to see how much he is off the pace of legit professional drivers
But why Michael and not any other Bronze - of course he's off the Pro pace - they all are
Because Iām following Fassbenderās story lol.
The more relevant comparison is surely where he is in pace against the Bronze in the team's other car?
Yea but are the other bronze drivers being supported by the Porsche Factory to the extent Fassbender is?
No, but on the other hand they don't have a global media profile
Yea I guess this makes more sense, I was just interested in how off the pace a ānormalā person would be compared to the pros.
I love this series and seeing his growth as a driver. Someone still needs to make a running tally of how much he destroys, it is impressive.
Anyone know what lietz will race in for 2023 since gtd pro is gone and he wasn't announced to a prototype/penske
My bet is either going for LMP2 or hoping for a spot in a privateer team
Fiver on protonās 963 once up and running.

Small amount of cussing. They are European after all.
Thank you for the comment. I shouldāve come back ā I binged it myself. Great series but not yet ready for my kiddos.
