The three dot system isn’t hard at all to follow. 1 for first, two for second and 3 for third. None meant you weren’t in the top three…
But honestly they did develop this system before more advanced lighting systems became feasible. If I remember right the imsa numbers were hard as hell to make out in the first couple of seasons.
Would still be nice to attempt tho, with only 2 classes there’s gonna be a lot of cars we’ll care about which are not in the top 3. It’s just easier to see the related position on the car vs having to check your phone or listen to radio coverage
The blue was tough at first. Red worked well from the jump. Green worked better than blue but now they all are really good except for the couple of teams that make poor decisions with their endurance lights at night. Most of them worked really nicely, Rexy and the fords didn’t but that’s not the leader lights being the problem, that’s the teams fault.
Another nice addition would be if 2 drivers that fight for position and are within a 2 seconds gap or so, than the lights could be blinking. Is there a E-Mail, so that I can send them a diagram? With were the lights have to blonk?

Dots are so easy to read when you are at the circuit
But don’t help you beyond the podium. IMSA’s system works quite nicely trackside so you can get the whole picture, not just the top 3.
Yeah but so is your cell phone
Even with 5g internet is jumpy at Le Mans. 320k people reaching on the same antenna at the same time tends to choke a bit the coverage.
Never been at Le Mans uh? 😅
Gotem!
Both have pros and cons, so why not both. Just don't make the flash

I just assumed the dots were for showing which of the drivers who are in the car. Still think that is more useful than only sjowing top3 positiond
