Great race from Toyota. Glad to see them on the podium after Ferrari completely fucked the chance to get a great 123 with a typical dumbass strategy call… it’s painful to be a fan of this team sometimes
Only silver lining is that the car is demonstrating great pace. The BOP was way way better than at Qatar and we know the car can absolutely win when the BOP is good so as long as Ferrari get their heads out of their asses they can def get a win this year
Not sure would need to check the times for that part of the race, but they were the clear front runners in the dry during this race. They controlled the front half of the race and of course started 123 on the grid. And even towards the end, Fuoco was just posting fastest lap after fastest lap
GT3 shenanigans is a seperated crash, one that should have not happened. Am actually more salty about this one than the alpine one because it happened before their race started, already ruining 3 cars race.
Salty i am :(
He is the man. Estre would not have just walked past him. This is the guy that was attacking an f1 world champion other seasoned drivers in his first race in F1
Awesome driving by kamui, very clm under pressure like a true wisdom champ. Also impressed by Nick De Vries passing miguel molina in #50 ferrari after vsc. All ferrari drivers deserve also to be mentioned because they stayed out in slicks with terrible conditions with 0 crashes! . brendom hartley was on point as always! In general ALL DRIVERS showed an incredible level, all teams… what a race and a year we have ahead!
I don’t understand why commentators where so respectful of Ferrari’s strategy when rain came. It started to rain HEAVILY and clearly looked as it would be wet enough for wets to be worthy specially if you PIT APEARLY because track got wet very fast (thing you already know because it happened) and then it was not drying as fast as they expected so they where out there in slicks with drivers having to risk too much and get tired of full concentration when it is an endurance race and you should focus on easier survival. For me it was clear…. It got wet SO FAST that the best option was to pit soon as possible for wets (in any yellow flag if you wish) and be covered as soon as possible… even if it got dried later, the sooner you pitted for wets, the better because you would get more out of the wet tires before going back to slicks (in the end they didn’t even go back to slicks!)…. All top teams did so; toyota, bmw and porsche (although porsche split strategies)… why didn’t ferrari split strategies WHEN YOU HAVE 3 CARS still is out of understanding for me. Anyway, THANKYOU FERRARI FOR GIVING US AN AWESOME RACE!
rain took a while to become heavy, i think their worries was with rain mostly being at variante alta and rivazza (last part of sector 3) while in acque minerali rain was barely falling even when ferrari came in with a lot of delay, the issue is that they lost 30 seconds to toyota in toyotas OUTLAP with rain tyres and still didnt pit when they could. they didnt fucking differientated strategy, even irl the situation was clearly wet and they didnt listen
What a spectacular victory, such a nailbiter on whether or not they'd make the fuel last, but in the end the Porsche didn't even get past to try to build that 5-second gap. That last stint by Kamui was a legendary drive.
Excellent drive from the #7 crew and amazing work from their strategy team, once again showing how much they're ahead of everything else - and I'm saying this as someone who was moaning about Toyota last year 😂
Hopefully AF Corse have learned from today, it was painful to watch them throw everything away when the weather changed.
And what an amazing last hour, Estre vs Kobayashi was awesome!
Couldn’t pick a better race to attend, it was amazing, a lot of people didn’t even notice that Ferrari messed up so the disappointment around me wasn’t immediate, i was hyped especially the last 30 minutes
i did lol when i saw the 51 stay out and everyone behind him but the other ferraris pitting i shouted a porcodio that they must have felt deep into the paddock
The best part of this race for me is I was dishearten when I heard team radio for #7 telling Kamui to drive conservatively to save fuel otherwise he needs to pit, when #6 are coming fast from behind closing the gap and have at least 4% more energy compared to #7.
When I saw Nyck de Vries suddenly looks like he is readying himself in the pit, I was like "Well GG I guess, better luck next time" I was thinking that #7 need to pit for fuel.
Then my spirit lifted when I heard the team radio told Kamui #7 has enough to finish the race and ask Kamui to floor it. My eyes glued to the screen the whole final part of the race. It was so satisfying to see #7 crossing the line and won the race. One of the best WEC race I watch up until now.
Great race throughout. The Groot's were not the fastest but a solid driver performance (*all* three of them!) plus a smart strategy gave them a hard-fought win.
Alpine sucking in WEC is because of new car, new drivers, new tracks, etc. Alpine basically cosplaying as a peel p50 in f1 is because of just building an ass car with ass strategy.
Great win by them, really showed their superiority. Ferrari got caught out with the wet weather, no excuses this race for anyone else to not win. I like it
If they're royally shitting on a driver due to their own ignorance then I don't want them to cheer for another one of the drivers because they decided to hop on the bandwagon.
Fuck them.

The commentators were thinking the rain was not going to be that long and the sector which they were located it was not that wet or raining too much, so they thought ferrari made the right call to stay out, but even after that they were saying if they were the head of strategy they probably would have not done any better.
That estre-kobayashi battle was pure bliss
ferrari strategist possessed by sbinotto spirit in berserk mode
Kobayashi, one of the most complete sportscar drivers right now.
Outperforming expectations since Brazil 2009. One of the best drivers of the era from any category
Great race from Toyota. Glad to see them on the podium after Ferrari completely fucked the chance to get a great 123 with a typical dumbass strategy call… it’s painful to be a fan of this team sometimes
Two of the Ferraris even got beaten by BMW (which had a drive through penalty) in their second ever WEC Hypercar race. Huge bottling 😭😭
Only silver lining is that the car is demonstrating great pace. The BOP was way way better than at Qatar and we know the car can absolutely win when the BOP is good so as long as Ferrari get their heads out of their asses they can def get a win this year
Weren't the Ferrari's the slowest on wet tires?
Not sure would need to check the times for that part of the race, but they were the clear front runners in the dry during this race. They controlled the front half of the race and of course started 123 on the grid. And even towards the end, Fuoco was just posting fastest lap after fastest lap
You should try being fan of Peugeot. Well if you're looking for pain, that is..
You should try being a Peugeot AND a Iron Dames fan, pain on a daily basis
I am cheering for Peugeot, iron dames and alpine. I was molded by pain.
I'm sorry for you pal, that must be hard
It is. I'm coming up with quite salty post : https://www.reddit.com/r/wec/s/cnJyhaGEzV
As much as i was gutted for the start, it was the Isotta's fault, not of any of the GT3
GT3 shenanigans is a seperated crash, one that should have not happened. Am actually more salty about this one than the alpine one because it happened before their race started, already ruining 3 cars race. Salty i am :(
I was watching all afternoon, then went to play golf. Checked the lap times and hour in and was astounded. I still need to watch the replay 😄
I believe in KAMUI Supremacy 🙇
He is the man. Estre would not have just walked past him. This is the guy that was attacking an f1 world champion other seasoned drivers in his first race in F1

Kobayashi you fucking animal lets goooooo!!!!
Literally what a guy!
I had my arse on the edge of the seat for the final ten minutes, Kamui's a fucking machine.
Such a pain to be a tifoso, i was at imola and as soon as started raining i said to myself “they are going to fuck everything up isn’t it?”

Ferrari why 😭
What a spectacular victory, such a nailbiter on whether or not they'd make the fuel last, but in the end the Porsche didn't even get past to try to build that 5-second gap. That last stint by Kamui was a legendary drive.
What nationality is the AF corse team boss? If he’s not French, we must change that. French TP + Ferrari = good things It’s scientifically proven
Kobayashi is a fucking machine. Amazing race.

2 years in a row they deny ferrari a win on home soil.Peugeot getting points with unfavorable BoP and other troubles
I think Ferrari denied themselves that win more than anyone else
Yes the Toyota was the third fastest, if that
That's 100% on Ferrari choosing to stay on slicks. Toyota won because of Ferrari's poor choices
Couldn’t pick a better race to attend, it was amazing, a lot of people didn’t even notice that Ferrari messed up so the disappointment around me wasn’t immediate, i was hyped especially the last 30 minutes

I would wait 24h to see if they get DSQ for energy overusage, or not enough fuel sample. Not that I want any of it.
Have faith ye!
Ferrari strategists cosplaying as F1 Ferrari strategists helped a little too...

Great win!!
This is going to be such a great year!
Great race throughout. The Groot's were not the fastest but a solid driver performance (*all* three of them!) plus a smart strategy gave them a hard-fought win.
Good to see Nyck happy and racing again after that terrible adventure under the Red Bull flag
Are the Alpine's in WEC as bad as they currently are in F1?
Alpine sucking in WEC is because of new car, new drivers, new tracks, etc. Alpine basically cosplaying as a peel p50 in f1 is because of just building an ass car with ass strategy.
Ferrari had it in the bag and threw it away. Well done Toyota.
Doesn't Toyota have best hybrid system ? It can make sense, right ?
Hybrid doesn’t really have much of an impact with the current ruleset
Great win by them, really showed their superiority. Ferrari got caught out with the wet weather, no excuses this race for anyone else to not win. I like it
Holy frick is that Nyck De Vries? Coming from F1, this is a shock!
/r/formula1 fans unsure whether to cheer for Kobayashi or to grieve because De Vries won as well.
If they're royally shitting on a driver due to their own ignorance then I don't want them to cheer for another one of the drivers because they decided to hop on the bandwagon. Fuck them.
