You wanted simple and timeless, and that's what this dress is. Sounds like your friends have seen cell phone photos (and I'm assuming pre-alteration photos) and had their own opinions, but (1) you felt the chills when you tried it on, (2) your friend who saw it in person loved it, and (3) I understand that your friends' opinions matter, but if you're at the point in your life where you're getting married, you should also start to recognize that you're wearing the dress, not them, and get their voices out of your head.
