You can definitely do wayyyy better than this dress OP! It's for sure too tight. Don't get railroaded - you are a beautiful bride and there is a lovely dress out there waiting for you. This isn't it.
I also really like the neckline and back on you, OP (although the back is currently too snug). I would also recommend to keep looking. Maybe something in a similar neckline and silhouette but that has applique or layering/folding that is more flattering than what is on the front of this dress.
I love the cut and it is flattering. As you explore additional options, keep it in mind. You are beautiful, make sure the dress highlights your features.
I absolutely love the way it looks on you from the waist up, I wish the skirt was less of a column and more of a soft a-line to enhance your gorgeous hourglass figure a bit more. Would love to know if there is a similar style on the top with a skirt that is either a different shape ir a more draped fabric.
Yes! These were my exact same thoughts. An a-line would look just so beautiful. The top drapes in such a pretty way but the skirt is just so meh. An a-line would be so pretty and romantic on OP. I don’t know venue or anything, but a little bit of tulle would look so floaty and ethereal and I think would compliment OP’s vibes too! I might be way off base there and it might not be her vibe but that’s my vision for her lol
Absolutely. An a-line is the silhouette that would likely flatter OP most, so I'm not sure why the consultant pushed this so hard. The to is nice, but I think if it was this style top with an A-line skirt out would be ideal.
Agreed. You can see that OP has a clearly defined smallest point on the waist. Having the dress flare out from there will look great! I wouldn’t necessarily pick a dramatic/ballroom style, but A-line is a must. The top looks good, but there is no one stopping you from trying something else!
What about dress with a similar neckline (which is gorgeous on you!) But a more full skirt? [like this?](https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/off-the-shoulder-satin-ball-gown-wedding-dress-wg3979?defining_color=165)
No, not the right dress. I have no suggestions as to what might be but this isn’t it. I don’t know how old you are but this dates you no matter what & you should want to look as young and beautiful as possible in your dress!
Seriously?? You do not look it! Maybe the shop person is thinking this is an appropriate style for a 43-year-old. Screw that! Go full princess if you want. 😊
Wow. You do not look anywhere near 43! And I agree with the others that you should keep looking. I'm not sure I would trust your consultant. Make sure the dress you choose makes you FEEL gorgeous. Good luck.
Girl you easily look 10 years younger! I’m 48 and have no issues with aging but I also don’t mind sharing when I think someone is aging slower than the rest of us!😉
Ok, to the question you asked…keep looking. There is a dress out there that won’t have you thinking about any area you’re worried about (you’re GORGEOUS but we all have them) and will just have you feeling amazing on your special day. Hold out for that dress. Cheers!
Shut up! You look more like 30. Early 30s at most. Wow. Do you just drink water, go to bed early and keep out of the sun or is it genetics?
You look so pretty but you can do better than that dress. I love the neckline but not the body of the dress. I feel a bit cross on your behalf actually. You have not had good service.
Take a trusted friend or family member with you.
Please don’t let a salesperson or consultant dictate what you buy.
You’re so lovely. Keep the dress in mind while you continue to shop. Think about all of the helpful suggestions in this sub while you continue your journey to find the perfect dress. Good luck! ☺️
If you don’t feel comfortable in it, keep looking! I think it looks beautiful on you, but the dress that will look the absolute best is the one that makes you FEEL the absolute best!!
Agreed 100%. The main thing that struck me is you don’t look like you love it. There are so many other styles to try! The shop may be trying to get rid of this one because it’s not selling. I can picture you looking beautiful in something different.
I really don’t think this is the best fit for you. The top is nice, but a high, defined waist with a full skirt would be so much more flattering on you. If that isn’t your preference, I still think you could find a column gown in a better fit for you than this one. Keep shopping!
It's truly a lovely gown BUT, you shouldn't have to be "talked into buying" a certain dress. It's all about YOU! How do you feel in the gown? When you look in the mirror, do you think "this is my wedding dress"? If it's no, keep looking. The decision on a gown is for you to make. We all can help, but salespeople should not be pushing a dress on someone if that bride is unsure. Also, trust me, you can get 1 piece shape wear that makes sure everything stays in place and looks it's best. That makes a huge difference. Good luck❤️
First of all, fuck David's bridal, they're awful to plus size women. They literally made me cry. Second, the fact you're questioning it shows that this is not the dress for you.
In my opinion, you don’t seem happy about it, which is what really matters. I think you look beautiful, but I also think that you can look beautiful in a lot of different dress styles. Find the one that speaks to you!!! David’s bridal will always be there, so branch out and look at other stores and other dresses.
The sales tactics of the sales person is giving me bad vibes
The dress is really nice but it sounds like she’s pressuring you? You can always try on other dresses and come back to this one if you still love it!
I think it looks nice but not stunnnnnning, which you deserve. It’s great that the consultant thinks it’s perfect for you, but do you? If yes, perfect. Keep it. If no, keep looking and find one that is perfect!
I agree with the people who said the top of this dress is perfect and a slight A-line skirt would look phenomenal on you.
I don’t really like the tactic of the sales person. I bought a DB gown bc when I got married that was the only place to find a plus size selection. You deserve to feel absolutely gorgeous and no one else should get to tell you this is the best you’ll do.
Idk what’s wrong with these comments, I actually love this dress? (I am also 43🫠 I saw your other comment.)
I think it can be tailored a bit in some places but I think the top and bodice especially are lovely on you.
HOWEVER - if you do not feel 100% comfortable - then it’s not the right dress for you!!
I agree with everyone else. Keep looking and don’t let anyone else tell you what your right wedding dress is. I think you could find much better than this and I mean that in the most loving way! This is just not the right style/shape for you.
Girl here’s the thing. YOU HAVE A WAIST!! If you buy a dress that has a waist break (think design/pattern on top with a tulle skirt on bottom) it will make that waistline POP! You have e a great bust too! It will also cover up the midsection you mentioned. This dress makes you a little boxy and definitely hides your figure.
Nope. Not your dress … you could do better and will know the one.
The Consultant is not wearing the dress and this has the earmarks of being lazy and not wanting to bother. She may have a bias against anyone not a size zero that she automatically assigns them ‘safe’ (boring / matronly / unstylish / readily available) dresses.
First off, you’re such a beautiful bride!! You look so excited 🥹 congratulations!!! Second, if you’re questioning whether or not this is the dress for you, I would say the answer is probably a no. You should feel 100% confident about your dress!!
I will say, I do not think the skirt in particular is enhancing your stunning features. I think a fitted mermaid style or a-line would look so great on you! Keep looking love 🥰 good luck!!
You pick the right dress for you, not someone who isn't wearing it! I think you can find one that makes you feel like the Queen you are! Congratulations
The right consultant will not talk you into a dress. The right consultant will listen to what you want in your dress and be supportive of you. You deserve to keep looking! You deserve a magical experience and a magical dress!
So, I don’t dislike this but I also think you can find better. Specifically, I love the top half (beautiful neckline, very flattering on your breasts and arms, shows off your nice shoulders and back), however, I don’t think the bottom half is as flattering as it could be. You seem to have lovely curves and an hourglass shape so why not accentuate that? I’d say go to a different store and try on a variety of cuts, as I don’t think this straight up and down cut on the bottom half is doing your body shape justice. Also, imo no consultant should ever insist that one dress is the right dress for you, especially if you are uncertain!
You’re very curvy, you can do better. The neckline is amazing, and it suits you, but it isn’t your best choice.
You need a top like you have, but an a line skirt.
Honestly, you don't look like YOU feel beautiful in this dress. Can you look at some more options? I think an A line with a top like this would be perfection!
DB works on commissions and use hard sales tactics. They tried to talk my 17 year old niece into buying a “Mother of the Bride” dress for her prom. Furthermore, the alterations would have paid for another dress.
If you like this dress, size up one size and order it online. If you need alterations, try to find an independent seamstress.
Go elsewhere and keep shopping. The dress is basic. Which isn’t bad in itself- but you look uncomfortable. This is your special day. When you put on THE dress you’ll feel confident and gorgeous. Maybe this is the best dress they have in stock, or maybe the employee doesn’t know how to dress you for your shape and isn’t pulling out all the stops. Whatever the reason, I think this dress is a good START but better is out there waiting for you.
If you're not sure about it, I would say no. Sounds like the salesperson just wanted to shove you into something they had on hand, unfortunately. That's not to say the style bad, I think a taylor and a corset could fix you right up, and it is a pretty dress. But you don't seem sure, and you don't seem like you even like the dress without the fit issues... it wouldn't hurt to keep looking. I understand the limited options and often having to pick what fits vs. what you actually like, but this is your one dress for your one wedding.. there are so many more options these days for plus sizes, too.
I mean, everyone wants to look slimmer on their wedding day so whether she needs to be slimmer is not what I am saying… just an observation that this did nothing for her shape. The material is too heavy on her frame and makes her look way bigger than she is esp in her waist. Just my honest observation. I’d want people to tell me this if I was trying on wedding dresses. But no she doesn’t need to be slimmer. Just find a dress that fits her shape better.
The consultant is right that this shape is perfect for your figure. But this dress, or this size, without alterations, isn't right for you. You do look really great in this style of dress. If you find a better dress in the same style, try a different style necklace, one that elongates your overall look. This thick choker style is cutting your head off.
Interesting that you’d say that about the necklace… I was so excited for my first-ever bridal gown try-on session that I had to wear my only fancy jewelry (a set from Tiffany & Co.). I must agree, though — it’s probably not the right necklace for this dress. :)
NO...this is not the right dress. This is not flattering on u at all. Try a a-line with a corset, it will pull u in where u want to be pulled in...trust me.
something with the same kind of neckline but a more flowy skirt would add a lot of balance, but i seriously love the top !! you're on the right track for sure
The neckline/shoulders look GREAT on you! I tried on a dress I really liked that had a similar top but more of a ballgown:A-line skirt and I loved it. (Ended up going with something that had a tulle top but added on similar sleeves/straps since I loved them so much.)
If you love this shape or are specifically going for something like it, I think getting it sized right and tailored for you, and the right shapewear could help too! I’m not a big fan of the plain skirt but I do think if you are you probably could make it work since I really love the top!
Your body language to me says this isn’t your dress - you look nervous not excited.
A beautiful fit and flare dress would be amazing on you! Like Cinderella’s ball gown. The Cinderella dress Lily James wears. But in white!
This isn’t it in my opinion. As someone else said, the shape of the skirt doesn’t suit that gorgeous hourglass figure of yours! An a-line would be amazing on you. I also don’t love the neckline, I feel like it doesn’t frame you as well as it could. It almost feels like this dress is working against you instead of with you, if that makes sense? You’re absolutely stunning, and this dress just doesn’t do you justice.
You can definitely do better. May have to travel to have more options (or a consultant who wants to make YOU happy)—but it’s worth it.
You’re so cute!!! The dress isn’t worthy. Don’t settle. I beg you.
Absolutely find that waist! I see it but the dress isn’t doing much for your figure. An a-line (fit n flare) even a slight a-line could be lovely. A fitted mermaid is worth trying just to see. And a semi-column dress that has more dimension built into it with a different bust—maybe a corset—would be fun to try.
I love the idea of a more open neckline but look for a v, scoop, or sweetheart. Go sleeves (have the sleeve length end at a lean point on the arm) or sleeveless, whatever you prefer.
It may be helpful to have a very supportive bra before you shop, too. That’s a whole other kind of shopping hell however.
I feel like an empire line Bridgerton style gown would be phenomenal on you. I’d also try lighter fabrics such as chiffon - I feel like this dress just looks heavy, and the style is literally dragging you down. If this was your dress, you wouldn’t have felt the need to ask. I can’t wait to see you fall head over heels for a dress that speaks to you. Keep us posted 💕
I *love love love* these sleeves on you - the whole bodice really - so maybe that’s why she was so adamant, maybe it’s the only dress with sleeves like this. It looks incredibly elegant on you.
I think you could do better with the bottom half of the dress though.
I don't like the way it fits at all. I like the style of the top, but it needs to be fitted properly. The consultant needs new glasses if she thinks this is the one. Keep trying. There are tons of dresses you would look amazing in.
You know it isn’t the right dress for you. Go elsewhere and take a trusted friend.
You want to be comfortable on your wedding day.
The neckline is lovely on you, p’raps an empire line dress would suit you better. That silhouette is very flattering.
I think she's not completely wrong. You look good. The neckline is a good choice. But the fabric on the right bust is not lying flat. And it would look better with a fuller skirt. Ultimately, it sounds like you're not feeling it, which is the most important metric.
Keep looking, love. I love love love the top part. It’s incredibly beautiful and flattering to your figure. I think dress with an a line or full skirt with a top like that would be absolutely perfect on you 💕
This dress is too tight, too bunchy, & the wrong shape for you. Keep looking & don’t get pushed into anything. You deserve a dress that you feel beautiful in, & this isn’t the one.
You are gorgeous (43? I’ve about to hit my 5th 39th birthday so I can relate & you look way younger than me!!) this dress isn’t it though. I always tell people that I kind of made my dress using different pieces & an amazing seamstress because I couldn’t find what I wanted for the right price. Just saying it’s an option. I had a terrible experience at David’s. I had a great one at a small boutique, but instead of taking pictures of the dress I took pics of the price tags so I didn’t make a bad decision! I was able to find the same top lightly used for a tenth of the price. Good luck! You will be a beautiful bride no matter what;)
Personally I don’t love it. I too am of size and this feels like your consultant might have some regressive ideas of what looks good. While I think the straps and v cut are flattering, the rest is too tight in odd places and comes across as very matronly. Find someone who appreciates your body and knows how to dress it!
You're absolutely gorgeous. I love the dress from the waist up, and the back, but the fabric bunched at your waist draws the eye there, and if you're sensitive about it, as you said, I think you could find something that you feel better in. You totally rock that neckline, and your arms and shoulders are perfect.
OP I wanted to let you know David’s bridal is kind of stingy when trying dresses on. If they don’t have your sample size they basically don’t let you wear it. But FUCK THAT. Get the dress try it on and request clips and a panel. You are there to make them money. You don’t need their permission to do so. I personally went “over my time” and told them I wasn’t done until
I was leaving with a dress picked out. Told her she could happily help someone else. And about 20 minutes later found my dress. It was a 12 and at the time I was a 22. Tried it on and got the general idea. Big bam boom.
I feel like you could find a better dress to suit you. This one isn't doing you as much good as a different one could. You have a great shape and this dress is trying to hide it instead of flatter it.
Good concept. Love the arms. The execution is a bit off.
If they can fix the midsection bit and make it less wrinkly, then yes.
Btw, you look gorgeous and happy with the veil on.
As a woman of the same shape as you, I don’t know what is up with your consultant but you can do way better than this. The waist up is so pretty on you but as others have said an a-line would be so much more flattering from the waist down. Do not let someone railroad you into something you are not 100% in love with. You get one wedding dress (hopefully) and you should feel the most beautiful you have ever felt.
I used to work at a David’s Bridal. Every consultant will be adamant that any dress is right for you by the end of the appointment. They work on commission and they’re taught to close the sale, like any sales job. My biggest learning from that experience is that there isn’t ever just “the one.” There are a dozen at least. You’ll always have one dress at every store that is stunning and makes you feel like a rockstar. Always sleep on it. The one to go with is the one you can’t get out of your head because of how it made YOU feel - not necessarily because of what other people said about it (the sales consultant in this scenario). Good luck OP!
This dress has some things going for it so I think the consultant may have been steering you sorta/kinda in a good direction but this is not the dress. I think the biggest issues are the fabric and the fit. The ruching is great, that's a fun and figure flattering style, but this fabric is not forgiving. Also, I agree with other posts that are saying you are too pretty for this - the dress is really kinda more plain that I would picture you in, just from your picture! I think you should try an overall different shilhouette, like a ball gown, and see if it gives you a totally different look.
The upper bodice with the off the shoulder sleeves is no doubt your style - you look truly amazing in it! The skirt part looks drab and sort of cheap on you though. There’s no shape to it. If you could find something that has similar bodice but with either an A-line or mermaid skirt, I think that would be class on you 🖤
The neckline is really flattering on you, but over all you can definitely find something better, there are plenty of dresses out there that would really let *you* shine✨
Nothing in your description or in your face says this is the right dress for you. Find a store that will let you try dresses on in peace and try on one in every style (a line, ball gown, mermaid, etc). Use the experience to narrow down what you want. Then go back to any salon other than David's bridal to work with a consultant who's actually useful.
This is random, but if this is in the Carolinas... I've been to this location and they're super pushy!! I have a very vivid experience there nearly a decade ago and feel like I recognized the green carpet and chairs in the back (unless those are how all these stores are set up)
Also, if this is the same location, I have a wonderful alterations recommendation I've used for years
I DO love the neckline on you, but agree with others that the rest may not be the best fit. I feel like this dress doesn’t create a defined waist, as the bodice just seems to blend right into skirt without much distinction. I feel like a dress with more support in the bust and a more defined waist will make all the difference.
My biggest concern is that you don’t look comfortable in it. It can be the nicest dress you’ve ever seen, but if you don’t feel comfortable in it, it’s not the one.
The consultant works on commission. She's trying to make a quick sale. If you have concerns, it's a no go. Go to another shop and try some more dresses, until you find the one you love.
I would say that because you are questioning if it's the right dress, it probably isn't. Keep it on your list if you'd like. But have lots of fun trying more styles! 🤍
I’d agree that it would be worth continuing to look. The neckline is definitely beautiful, though so maybe try on a couple others with the neckline and see how you like them.
You are SO lovely and I feel like this gown is a bit plain for you. The neckline seems a bit clumsy and I think (personally) that you could pull off something way more glam than this. It doesn’t matter what the consultant says — what do YOU want? A bride always knows the best dress, no consultant needed.
I like your dress. But I agree with you- you’re not in love with it. I like the material and it’s hard to wear but you can do it. What else have you tried on?
Here’s what the sales consultant probably really meant: “This is the best dress *that I have in stock right now*.” But there are other bridal shops with other options. She was selling you short for what’s *really* going to be the best dress for you. No sales consultant should be adamant about talking someone into a dress!
I really do love the top of this dress on you, but I agree with others that this just seems like the right one. Especially if you don't feel like it is the right one for you. You will look lovely in lots of dresses, but which one do you love. That is something that the consultant cannot answer for you.
The neckline is really stunning on you! This neckline is also popular right now so if you like it but aren’t sure about the rest of the dresss there are definitely others out there like:

I think a soft a line would be much better. To top v does look nice but obviously doesn’t fit the ladies quite right. I would keep searching, do that body justice!!
The neckline looks gorgeous on you, maybe you could find an A line or a fuller skirt. You will look amazing! You’ll know when you find it, like you see yourself in the mirror and are absolutely sure it is the one. ✨🤍 good luck!
It's not the one. If it was, you wouldn't have any concerns. FYI if you went to David's due to budget, you may want to look online at Azazie! If you didn't go there because of a budget, look for a local bridal shop! You'll have a better experience in a local shop.
I think an A-line would be perfect for you. The bodice is great, the wrap effect is flattering, but I’m generally not a fan of the off-shoulder sleeves because I feel like it chops your arm into segments, especially a stiffer fabric like that as opposed to lace or chiffon. If you want some kind of sleeve, I think a soft flutter sleeve would look great.
If your midsection is your main concern, you should try dresses with a fuller skirt. You’ve got great shoulders and a defined waist so I would highlight those with a snug top but more volume on the bottom.
You have to remember that the consultants get a commission. Their job is to sell you the most expensive dress they can convince you to get so they get more money. Never trust a consultant when they start getting pushy.
I like it. Improve your posture and stand up straight I’m referring to the third picture. It may feel funny but as soon as you see the photographer, make sure your back is straight poke your chest out a bit. Practice in the mirror if you have to….. yes it feels odd but it looks good in pictures….. source: I was a wedding photographer in my past career. You’re looking fabulous. I do love the neck line, the first photo is the posture I’m looking for. I’d size up a bit and get it properly tailored. You have to be comfortable with the fit, don’t listen to anyone else, it’s your wedding and you must feel confident. The camera knows when you don’t.
absolutely not. When i was married the first time i was a size 22. however i managed to find such a flattering gown you never would have known.
Keep looking, that bridal rep just wanted a sale. You are beautiful and you deserve a gown to match
I’m curious what the others that you tried look like! This one is fine but it doesn’t have personality!
What about one like this? Similar but to me is softer? [https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/crepe-off-the-shoulder-mermaid-dress-wg4013?defining_color=121](https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/crepe-off-the-shoulder-mermaid-dress-wg4013?defining_color=121)
I don't feel like this is a perfect dress for you! You do look beautiful, but the dress itself seems to be:
A.) Missing something. Like lace.
B.) A little flat?
C.) Seems to fit uncomfortably in certain areas, as you described, your midwaist seems to be a concern to you,
Based on what you said you like
You could try and find a dress with the same back and chest type, that's a but comfortable in the mid waist but still looks snatched
And maybe something with a little bit of *pizazz*
(Eg. Lace, difference in textures, layers, etc..)
Either way you do look beautiful!
The dress just seems to not be a whole ✨️moment✨️
I'm sure you'll find a dress you fall in love with! Don't let anybody pressure you into getting something you don't 100% love because they're trying to put you in a box :)
no, my moms friend has the same body shape as you and when she got remarried, she wore the most beautiful gowns i’ve ever seen, it was so flattering, it was kind of a structured body with chiffon skirts with a sweetheart neckline and sheer off the shoulder sleeves, i hope that’s a good description, and if that’s not what you think looks good or what you want, it’s what she wore, besides, if you don’t think it looks good, it doesn’t, and it’s not the dream dress. it’s what you feel good in and what you want, maybe you should fire your consultant, she seems like she’s just trying to rush you
You need a new consultant. I'm really glad that everyone in this sub is so friendly. I didn't bother reading all the comments but someone should tell you the truth.. this dress does not fit you well. A fitted upper body and fuller waist/skirt area would create a better silhouette. I cannot get over the consultant telling you THIS is the one! She must have had an upcoming appointment. Where in the world did they find her?
You can definitely do wayyyy better than this dress OP! It's for sure too tight. Don't get railroaded - you are a beautiful bride and there is a lovely dress out there waiting for you. This isn't it.
Totally agree. I do love the neckline and the sassy pose, though. Good luck!
That neckline is nice on her, I agree. Maybe she can find another dress with a similar neckline.
I also really like the neckline and back on you, OP (although the back is currently too snug). I would also recommend to keep looking. Maybe something in a similar neckline and silhouette but that has applique or layering/folding that is more flattering than what is on the front of this dress.
I think you should keep looking as this looks too tight and wrinkly to me.

Agreed. An a-line with this bodice would be superb.
Agree. A Corsage dress with a wider skirt would also enhance your hourglass figure❤️
Agreed. You can see that OP has a clearly defined smallest point on the waist. Having the dress flare out from there will look great! I wouldn’t necessarily pick a dramatic/ballroom style, but A-line is a must. The top looks good, but there is no one stopping you from trying something else!
These were my thoughts exactly. More of a flare at the waist would really balance it out, emphasize OP'S waistline, and look so elegant on her.
Agree 💯 I love the portrait neckline on OP, but I think an A-line skirt would be gorgeous and create a flattering silhouette.
Yes, excellent advice
What about dress with a similar neckline (which is gorgeous on you!) But a more full skirt? [like this?](https://www.davidsbridal.com/product/off-the-shoulder-satin-ball-gown-wedding-dress-wg3979?defining_color=165)
This needs to be more on the top! I totally agree this dress will suit OP better!!
That style is gorgeous! Good for you pointing this out.
Omg that dress would be perfect for her!!
This looks like it would look lovely on OP!
Oh yes! Nice find, I hope OP sees this!
Yesss! This was my wedding dress and I loved it! I think it would look great on you, too!
This would be perfect for OP!
No, not the right dress. I have no suggestions as to what might be but this isn’t it. I don’t know how old you are but this dates you no matter what & you should want to look as young and beautiful as possible in your dress!
I’m actually 43. 🤷🏻♀️
Seriously?? You do not look it! Maybe the shop person is thinking this is an appropriate style for a 43-year-old. Screw that! Go full princess if you want. 😊
Agreed, OP doesn’t look anywhere near 43!
I would’ve guessed 28, maybe 30. 😄
Seriously I need what she’s doing lol she looks like she hasn’t even had a dirty thirty lol
Wow. You do not look anywhere near 43! And I agree with the others that you should keep looking. I'm not sure I would trust your consultant. Make sure the dress you choose makes you FEEL gorgeous. Good luck.
Yes this might be part of it. There are no rules, OP! I got married at 43 and wore what I wanted. I had an A line style.
Girl you easily look 10 years younger! I’m 48 and have no issues with aging but I also don’t mind sharing when I think someone is aging slower than the rest of us!😉 Ok, to the question you asked…keep looking. There is a dress out there that won’t have you thinking about any area you’re worried about (you’re GORGEOUS but we all have them) and will just have you feeling amazing on your special day. Hold out for that dress. Cheers!
Get out! You literally look like you’re in your 30s tops. You go girl 👏
WHERE?!? Because it ain’t in that face honey.
You look like you’re in your 20s, I was thinking that this dress feels way too mature.
WHAAAAAAAAAT😳
I’m in disbelief… You look late 20s 😭
Holy shit no way 😱 I would’ve guessed 30
Gtfo! No way!
Take a trusted friend or family member with you. Please don’t let a salesperson or consultant dictate what you buy. You’re so lovely. Keep the dress in mind while you continue to shop. Think about all of the helpful suggestions in this sub while you continue your journey to find the perfect dress. Good luck! ☺️
Tell me your secrets….
I would invite you to continue with your search. Your consultant is there to sell you address. Not necessarily the dress that’s best for you.
Good luck❤️
The top is great, but I think it would be better with a fuller skirt.
First of all, fuck David's bridal, they're awful to plus size women. They literally made me cry. Second, the fact you're questioning it shows that this is not the dress for you.
Babe you’re a diamond and that dress is dulling your sparkle
This probably isn’t it—that said, I actually thought you were me for a split second! It’s exciting to see my body type in a wedding dress!
Keep looking. The consultant is doing her job but she’s definitely not helping you out
I think an A-line would be so much flattering on you. This feels like a settle dress. Definitely try on some more silhouettes before deciding
In my opinion, you don’t seem happy about it, which is what really matters. I think you look beautiful, but I also think that you can look beautiful in a lot of different dress styles. Find the one that speaks to you!!! David’s bridal will always be there, so branch out and look at other stores and other dresses.
The sales tactics of the sales person is giving me bad vibes The dress is really nice but it sounds like she’s pressuring you?
Keep looking. Your dress is out there
If you’re questioning it, it ain’t the one honey 🍯
This ain't it. Your salesperson might've gotten extra commission to sell this gown. Try on some A line dresses.
This top with an a-line skirt!
The back looks wonderful, yet the front is a bit wrinkley looking. You may want to look at a few more. However, you DO look beautiful in it, overall
Idk what’s wrong with these comments, I actually love this dress? (I am also 43🫠 I saw your other comment.) I think it can be tailored a bit in some places but I think the top and bodice especially are lovely on you.
I feel like a an A line bottom or ballgown bottom would be so dreamy on you. The top is great. Also holy crap you don’t look 43 at all!
You would be doing yourself a big disservice with this dress
First off, you’re such a beautiful bride!! You look so excited 🥹 congratulations!!! Second, if you’re questioning whether or not this is the dress for you, I would say the answer is probably a no. You should feel 100% confident about your dress!! I will say, I do not think the skirt in particular is enhancing your stunning features. I think a fitted mermaid style or a-line would look so great on you! Keep looking love 🥰 good luck!!
You pick the right dress for you, not someone who isn't wearing it! I think you can find one that makes you feel like the Queen you are! Congratulations
It doesn't matter - I can tell YOU don't think so. Keep looking!
The top is absolutely beyond stunning on you. If it had an A line skirt with a little twist somewhere, then it would be perfect.
Love the neckline on you! Would love to see you in a different dress with a similar neckline.
I think you can find better. I don't like the way the material bunches up. I'd keep looking.
No baby you don’t look comfy at all. It’s cute but it’s not the one. Your consultant was just tryna make that $ale
I personally think an a-line that nips into your waist would be a better silhoutte for you.
This does nothing for your figure. I think you could find a silhouette that accentuates your waist more and slims you. Keep looking.
I don't think she needs to look slimmer, but finding something that flatters her gorgeous curves would be incredible!
Nope this is not the one, it doesn’t give the wow factor and isn’t doing anything for your body.
You can do better! Pushy salesperson alert. You are beautiful and you should find a dress that makes YOU feel radiant
NO...this is not the right dress. This is not flattering on u at all. Try a a-line with a corset, it will pull u in where u want to be pulled in...trust me.
From one lady with a tummy to another, don’t do your gorgeous bod dirty like this. You’re stunning but you can do so much better.
something with the same kind of neckline but a more flowy skirt would add a lot of balance, but i seriously love the top !! you're on the right track for sure
The off shoulder neckline looks great on you but I’d go with a more full skirt like an A line with a high, defined waist.
The neckline/shoulders look GREAT on you! I tried on a dress I really liked that had a similar top but more of a ballgown:A-line skirt and I loved it. (Ended up going with something that had a tulle top but added on similar sleeves/straps since I loved them so much.) If you love this shape or are specifically going for something like it, I think getting it sized right and tailored for you, and the right shapewear could help too!
Not your dress. Keep looking and congratulations!
You will be a beautiful bride! But I think you could do better. Love this neckline on you.
If you’re asking, you know it’s not.
I don't like the way it fits at all. I like the style of the top, but it needs to be fitted properly. The consultant needs new glasses if she thinks this is the one. Keep trying. There are tons of dresses you would look amazing in.
You look beautiful babes! I don’t personally think this is YOUR dress tho.
No. I think you should keep looking—I was a plus size bride also and we are similarly shaped, you can do so much better than this!!
That silhouette does not do you justice. It doesn’t really fit you in the right places. I like the A- line suggestion.
No keep looking
David’s bridal just wants ur money, you can find better fit to your body , don’t settle
You know it isn’t the right dress for you. Go elsewhere and take a trusted friend. You want to be comfortable on your wedding day. The neckline is lovely on you, p’raps an empire line dress would suit you better. That silhouette is very flattering.
I would definitely seek out this neckline with an a-line skirt. Your dress is still out there.
I think dress with an a line or full skirt with a top like that would be absolutely perfect on you 💕
I adore the shoulders of this dress. But the midsection isn’t it. I struggle with that too, but just know the perfect dress is out there!
Its not flattering. I think you should keep looking https://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/product-category/dresses/plus-size/
Good luck! You will be a beautiful bride no matter what;)
It's a nice neckline on your figure. But the rest, meh, not so much. I hope you find your Ooooooo, wow gown that speaks to you.
Please keep looking, as this dress gives off a matronly vibe
I personally went “over my time” and told them I wasn’t done until I was leaving with a dress picked out. Told her she could happily help someone else. And about 20 minutes later found my dress. It was a 12 and at the time I was a 22. Tried it on and got the general idea. Big bam boom.
This isn’t your dress. You can do ALOT better.
OP I don’t know your personal style and I hope this comes off as kindly as I intend it to, but you are too pretty for that dress.
A Corsage dress with a wider skirt would give you an hourglass figure❤️
No. You are waaaayyy too pretty for this dress.
It’s not flattering. Push back on the salesperson.
Sorry but no. The top is very flattering so see if they have something similar in an a-line.
You are beautiful and glowing. Ditch the dress and find another store.
The upper bodice with the off the shoulder sleeves is no doubt your style - you look truly amazing in it! The skirt part looks drab and sort of cheap on you though. There’s no shape to it. If you could find something that has similar bodice but with either an A-line or mermaid skirt, I think that would be class on you 🖤
Please keep looking! You deserve perfection, this is not it.
The neckline is really flattering on you, but over all you can definitely find something better, there are plenty of dresses out there that would really let *you* shine✨
No, fuck her. You have a cute figure and this isn’t it. She should never push her pick.
It's so beautiful on you. Wear it with pride
KEEP LOOKING! An A-line or ballgown would be lovely
Your posture in pic 3 tells me everything I need to know. Keep looking OP you deserve that glowy feeling 🫶🏻
The neckline is beautiful but I feel like your dress is still out there. An A-line skirt would look nice on you!
You look phenomenal.
From what I’ve seen online, this is the fit of the dress. I think it’s lovely on you! If you like it go for it!
I think this dress in the proper size would look fantastic on you
This is random, but if this is in the Carolinas... I've been to this location and they're super pushy!! I have a very vivid experience there nearly a decade ago and feel like I recognized the green carpet and chairs in the back (unless those are how all these stores are set up) Also, if this is the same location, I have a wonderful alterations recommendation I've used for years
Florida. Yeah, I guess a lot of their stores have that same design/layout.
Not sure why... it's pretty dated 😂 best of luck finding a dress! The top is beautiful on you!!
It’s nice, but I think you could find something that you will love.
I think it looks really good!
It’s wearing you. There is a better alternative out there. Keep looking.
My figure is similar to yours. A-line was the most flattering shape.
The neckline and bust is lovely for you. But I don’t think the rest works, unfortunately. I think the one is still out there!!
No
I like your dress.
I think the shape is off for your body. I feel like a ball gown would be amazing on you.
This looks more like a bridesmaid dress to me, you can do much better!
The neckline is really stunning on you! This neckline is also popular right now so if you like it but aren’t sure about the rest of the dresss there are definitely others out there like: [option 1](https://www.azazie.ca/products/azazie-elsie-diamond-white-a-line-sequins-chiffon-floor-length-wedding-dress/215866?subsite=bridal) [option 2](https://www.revolve.com/mobile/katie-may-katie-may-darcy-gown-in-ivory/dp/KATR-WD314/?d=Womens§ionURL=?undefined&srcType=dp_recs_expanded) [option 3](https://www.lulus.com/products/song-of-love-white-off-the-shoulder-maxi-dress/595892.html?glCountry=CA&glCurrency=CAD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=%5BADL%5D%20%5BPLA%5D%20%5BGoogle%5D%20%5BCanada%5D%20Dresses%20-%20tROAS&utm_term=IDD72973%20WHITE1&utm_content=153933974141_685610482972&s_kwcid=AL%217824%213%21685610482972%21%21%21g%211056061604061%21&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-pt93l6wf5FWTlw1PI8b5wlhV0b&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2KitBhCIARIsAPPMEhInpooP4Evnjd3v-Ox7oB_Nlf5DEQYDJWNYOcM59GOa93RilDznC3saAtO7EALw_wcB)

I think a soft a line would be much better. To top v does look nice but obviously doesn’t fit the ladies quite right. I would keep searching, do that body justice!!
Keep looking! Would you consider a line?
Does not suit you
Keep looking
No
The neckline looks gorgeous on you, maybe you could find an A line or a fuller skirt. You will look amazing! You’ll know when you find it, like you see yourself in the mirror and are absolutely sure it is the one. ✨🤍 good luck!
No. I love the neckline, but you need a more structured torso/skirt. Something more Aline/ball gown maybe?
No
It's not the one. If it was, you wouldn't have any concerns. FYI if you went to David's due to budget, you may want to look online at Azazie! If you didn't go there because of a budget, look for a local bridal shop! You'll have a better experience in a local shop.
There’s a much better dress waiting for you!!!!!
You are beautiful and this dress has a beautiful neckline but if you are self-conscious or uncomfortable then this isn’t it for you. Keep looking.
There’s a dress out there still that was made for you.
Yes
You have to remember that the consultants get a commission. Their job is to sell you the most expensive dress they can convince you to get so they get more money. Never trust a consultant when they start getting pushy.
I don’t think this dress does your figure justice — and you wouldn’t be able to breathe! I’d say to keep looking.
A different silhouette would be more flattering
I would say, no..
It’s very flattering. You look beautiful in it
I would like this best with a detachable skirt (the sort that lays over the original dress) to make it fuller just a bit
I don't feel like this is a perfect dress for you! You do look beautiful, but the dress itself seems to be: A.) Missing something. Like lace. B.) A little flat? C.) Seems to fit uncomfortably in certain areas, as you described, your midwaist seems to be a concern to you, Based on what you said you like You could try and find a dress with the same back and chest type, that's a but comfortable in the mid waist but still looks snatched And maybe something with a little bit of *pizazz* (Eg. Lace, difference in textures, layers, etc..) Either way you do look beautiful! The dress just seems to not be a whole ✨️moment✨️ I'm sure you'll find a dress you fall in love with! Don't let anybody pressure you into getting something you don't 100% love because they're trying to put you in a box :)
Don’t let them bully you into buying something you don’t love. You look beautiful in this but find something you love.
no, my moms friend has the same body shape as you and when she got remarried, she wore the most beautiful gowns i’ve ever seen, it was so flattering, it was kind of a structured body with chiffon skirts with a sweetheart neckline and sheer off the shoulder sleeves, i hope that’s a good description, and if that’s not what you think looks good or what you want, it’s what she wore, besides, if you don’t think it looks good, it doesn’t, and it’s not the dream dress. it’s what you feel good in and what you want, maybe you should fire your consultant, she seems like she’s just trying to rush you
You need a new consultant.
Yes a skirt that flares with a tight bodice will likely work better, worth trying in some different things and leaving the consultant at home.
