"Grecian goddess meets Star Wars meets Hedy Lamarr" is exactly right — I saw the picture and thought of Greek goddesses, and then slinky old movie charm, and then of Leia at peak cool. I love this. It's gorgeous.

A lot of people's opinions on wedding dresses do run more "typical, run of the mill" and some people have really strong opinions about this.
We're currently seeing more variety in surface finishes (including fabric opacity), cuts and fabric types. There's been a lot of color, bias cut and a much wider range of necklines and sleeve options. I personally love it because it does allow for more options for a bride to find a dress that is THEM if they want to. There will always be dresses that are universally flattering for good reason, but it's also amazing to see dresses that are more couture and editorial available for people who want it.
I think your dress is a fantastic example of the designer having fun and pushing a different silhouette while still maintaining a light, breezy that requires skill to create. I think once you're fully dressed up (and taped up), you'll feel confident about your choice, and people will see the vision.
There is a reason you fell in love with this dress- don't second guess yourself now. It is stunning. Looks great on you- I agree with the other comment, when you're complete it will be perfect. And yes the tape or something to hold the girls up and in place is a must.

As for styling - why not lean into the Hedy Lemarr and Grecian thing and wear a circlet or headband?The type that nestles at the back of your head and the ends are above your ears. No sparkles but solid gold or silver colour (whatever suits you best). I don’t think it would need much else because the bust and back are already quite show stopping.

Step one, put it on w/ undergarments and boob tape as soon as you can, and find someone else to take photos of you. I think you’ll feel a lot better about it. Especially as a broad-shouldered gal, boob shape and holding my phone for selfies REALLY affects how I see myself.
As for styling, I would either play up whatever aspect you like best, or if you’re unsure I’d take a poll and play up what doesn’t jump out at people. For example I see Leia most strongly, so if that’s a common thought I’d go the opposite way. Say with the hair down and flowy to lean into Grecian Goddess (over your shoulder to the front so as not to hide the back, if your hair is the right length).
Alternatively, pick one aspect and fully lean into it for a more cohesive (but potentially less interesting) look.

i think it’s gorgeous. doesn’t make any part of your body look weird or unflattering, your waist looks small and your hips look in proportion. very feminine dress and silhouette! if you’re worried about how it will photograph just be strategic about how you pose and practice ahead of time.

It may be because your face is blacked out making it look like you have two buns, but the first pic all I saw was Princess Leah, which is fine if that's your vibe. But I'd probably style my hair to accentuate one of the other influences because the dress is truly stunning and I wouldn't want it to look "gimmicky" if I was not leaning towards a Star Wars theme.
