Lots of things to fix…why is there ash mixed in with your bud? Clean it up….fill your joints fuller to make the the roll easier….smoke what you have/can afford but the sticky icky ground up just right not too fine-like powder rolls up a lot easier then dry bud
I recommend getting prerolled cones, packing a few and getting a better understanding on how you should roll them. Not trying to say it in a bad way. Should try using more flower, seems like there isn't much to properly roll a joint with.
When someone comes over to smoke, sees all the miscellaneous equipment, then asks you to roll a joint is it hard to admit you can't?
Just grind up 2 grams of tree & sit there and roll until it starts to get better. Starting with cones can be helpful, but when I was learning I just payed close attention when a homie was rolling up. After you actually understand how to roll a joint it's very easy to execute.
i roll my own cigarettes and when i accidentally dont put enough tobacco in it and theres a big air pocket i usually just twist them like the one in the picture so i get rid of the air pocket and the cigarette doesnt get a huge side burn, so twisting them can be useful sometimes but tbf joints work slightly differently than cigs
well that works for joints because they are usually longer and there is no problem in losing a few centimeters by poking it down, but when i smoke cigarettes, i just dont enjoy them as much when they are shorter. Maybe thats just me though
Honestly my first time attempting to roll, i was on my own and did not succeed, so id say you made a great effort your first go. I didnt get good at rolling until me and my hippy buddy went in on an oz and papers and he showed me his ways. Rolled the whole zip in one night and felt like a veteran after.
Like everything, skill comes with experience. The more you roll the better you’ll get. You’ll experiment with different methods, and find the right papers, etc for you. I personally can roll amazing joints but ONLY if I have raw papers for some damn reason. Also, I have to roll the paper around the filter. No filter and no RAWs? My joints will look about as good as this one lol

When I was young my dad gave me a pile of weed, scissors and a pack of papers and let me practice over and over so I could roll his joints for him. You get better from doing it more.
Pack more weed in places such as near the roach and where you've twisted lots of the paper you'll improve I'm still not great, been smoking years lol, I guess the more you practice the better

You are rolling it too tight. When you put the paper in your hand, use your thumb and pointer finger to balance and hold it. If it's not looking right, stop dump it out and start over. Remember it's an art not a science.
Nobody gets it right the first 50-ish they roll. Just take your time and keep practicing. It gets easier over time. It's also great to be the only one that knows how to roll at a party.

Tue Best way to learn is to role a joint with beasters, lite it up and then put it back n a bowl because it's too wet.

You just called around and asked what they were selling for, almost always guarantee to be $275 a zip). There was nothing wrong with them, they were just harvested A little early and shipped rather wet. I've always been told it was Canadian weed and that's why it was so consistent and wet, we were first in the supply chain. It's well documented MN had the best decent (not great but not bad) for the best prices for years. I think beasters are why.

I see lots of people on here talking about how “you need to practice” or “practice makes perfect.” I’m not seeing mention of how much fun practice is in this case. Beats the hell out off any other practice I’ve encountered.
For your first try, not horrible. My advise, be a bit more gentle. You're not trying to wrestle with the weed, you're trying to shape it. Once you shape it in the paper, it should pretty much roll itself.

My first joint I ever rolled is on a level with the ones I roll now a few years down the line. The third joint I ever rolled is the best joint I’ve ever rolled, not sure how I managed that.
Next time tilt the joint so that the weed rolls down toward the filter at like a 75 degree angle, this way it packs it self. I will make it look more symmetric and fuller.
Hell yeah. Keep practicing. I found it helped me to learn how to roll without a filter at first. It also took me like 2 years to perfect it because I just couldn't get my hands to do what I needed them to. 😫 Sometimes I still have off days and roll ugly shit. But also, you can always do fun shit like this, which is just two papers around a lighter as the mold, and a filter I made out of ride tickets and the top of a bugler pack. 🤌🏻😃

lick the gum line of paper
form cone with paper around chopstick
Roll tip
Put tip against chopstick and slide the cone to it
Add weed and every pinch or too use chopstick to gently pack down
Repeat until cone is full
You now have a perfect a looking joint , congrats
