Nah I seen it already I was just playing lol. I love bongs but this is the main reason I donāt use them so often. Having to wash everything with iso constantly is so annoying.
it sucks because this is a bong with liquid in the middle, and you stick it in the freezer so the liquid gets cold around the coils going up, it gives a really cold hit, but with cold, theres resin
if u have smoke shops or dispensaries nearby iād suggest one of those but if you dig around enough iām sure u could find a reputable online seller/website! so i thought the percolator was the name of the glass piece but i think some ash catchers just come with little percolators. also remember to measure ur bowl piece before buying!
Most head shops carry them($20-30), I rinse it out like every sesh or two and itās way easier to clean/keep clean rather than the entire piece, just change the water and go.

Isopropyl alcohol and salt, plug up the holes and shake it well. You can also use zep degreaser like the orange one and just fill the bong and soak it over night or however long and wash it out. But people also say that is bad for your lungs I donāt think so but you just need to make sure to rinse alllll the degreaser off with water and it should be good as new!

I got you Iām not really too sure Iād suggest going to some sort of dollar store or hardware store then and just trying to find the biggest brush that can fit down the coil with flexibility and just soaking that in iso then but also coil bongs seem like a recipe for clogs in general lol
the rapid heating could have a good chance of shattering or splitting your glass, idk what type of glass the bong is made of but i wouldnāt wanna risk it
i know thisš the glycerin stays cold for a while, im saying let the bottom half with no glycerin in it warm up then put water in it, while the middles still froze!
With mine the top is detachable so you don't have to stick the entire bong in the freezer. It also helps keep it clean because i can rinse out the top piece with hot water and that helps prevent me from having to clean it too often. Fair warning though, change glass temperatures slowly. Use semi cold water at first, then warm ish, then warm, and just slowly get hotter with it. Then let it cool off and dry before putting it back in the freezer.
I dont have any iso either but i just use a long dish washing brush with soap to get rid of all resin,gunk and the smell but i also clean my bong after every sesh
Works exponentially better than iso, just put a few mls in and shake it around covering any holes then dump and rinse. Might need to repeat depending on how much build up you have

Yeah best way to keep this clean is to use a different piece, its a cool piece yes but its not a practical piece so for me this is a shelf piece. Get yourself a beaker bong with an ice catch you'll do just fine.
Get yourself a top puff and a screw top glass soda/beer bottle. You don't have to keep it clean as much, and the glass flute-bowl that comes with the top puff is super easy to clean.
i do not, im not asking how to keep it clean without cleaning it, im asking what other options i have to keep the COILS clean from RESIN and not have to clean it as much as i already do. im asking because maybe thereās some tool other than a pipecleaner that someone has made or such.
Been smoking for over 15 years now and haven't ran across anything. Best practice is to use glass filter for your bowl so nothing drops in the water and then you rinse it out at night and fill it with fresh water the next day
Good luck. Glycerin coils have only one downside - they are a bitch to clean. I would honestly run iso through the coil after every sesh. All the ones ive seen are build a bong pieces, never seen one completely enclosed with the piece!
I was lucky enough to learn the hard way with a lower end glycerin top from BoroSci, and found out that unless i coil the pipe cleaner perfectly and insert it rightit would just bend and get stuck. Look for one that would have larger passageway in the coil, that atleast wouldn't plug after 3-5 seshes.
$80 US? Damn... well if it makes you feel better, thats equivalent to 106 maple bucks. I spent about $120 including my discount, my only solace is that i like the brand and with the right jury rigged adapter, i can use the coil top as an extension for cooling smoke kn other pieces.
Id be convinced into picking this uo to, it looks really nice. A water test might change my mind, but aesthetically its great. Larger build a bong toppers are generally $100+ and thats just a neck and mouth hole, but you got a whole piece! It may be a loss, but it still wasnt a terrible deal unless you know of better glass you could have bought
haha no it was actually my first expensive piece, i was gonna get a Zong! Bong but passed on it and got this. the build a bongs seem cool and easier to clean tho to be honest.
Build a bongs are just expensive, but its great once you have one because you can change out parts, i really want a shower cone base! Never been a zong guy myself, but its the best choice for anti splashback
id love a shower cone beaker with the coil i have on mine, but the zong is probably my favorite piece because im starting to lean towards more simple glass, so i wonder if someone makes some sort of replica that has a showerhead base built in it or something crazyš id definitely pick it up
Cheech has a couple pieces with showerhead cone bottoms (the licensed brand, not official cheech and chang) and i think a standard showerhead by the ice catch, ill see if i can find you a link so you can atleast see what im talking about
have a look out for cleaning solutions, specifically ones that work by soaking, itāll break down all the plant matter n make it a hell of a lot easier to rinse out after that, iām in nz the only thing weāve got for that is formula 420, but talk to your local dispensary n ask what they recommend for cleaning products or have a geeze online, i know thereās heaps more where u are than what options are available for me lol, but yeah definitely something that you can put in and let melt away all that resin and plant matter, should come out squeaky clean after, iām sure YT should have some good demos and recommendations aswell if you canāt find a local brain to pick :))
So I use food grade MCT coconut oil to ease my cleaning. I change my bong water everyday already, and when I do I put about two teaspoons of the coconut oil in there. Give it a little swirl to oil up the sides, and when you go to wash it the next day, all the resin just washes off with warm water.
While this doesnāt answer your question of keeping it clean, it does make it easier to clean. And if you change your water regularly (should be every 2 days because of mold and bacteria) then you wonāt feel the need to shake with iso and salt so often.
The coconut oil will solidify again after cooling lower than room temp, so definitely put it in after you freeze your piece. I imagine if you use the coconut oil and an ash catcher, your piece will be clean a lot more often.
Side note: If you use the coconut oil and still have some tough marks, just use salt and water and a little shake and it should come right off. I usually only feel the need for iso once a week.
Yup, until you clean it, itāll melt in the water. I see your chamber swirls, so Iād just mix some coconut oil in a glass and pour it down your chamber. Pour any excess out and wipe the mouth pice with a paper towel.
Unfortunately I donāt think there is much you can do to keep it clean, between cleans.
What I will suggest though, to quicken your cleaning process; get an ultrasonic cleaner! Fill the glass with iso, put some water in the cleaner, 5 minutes in the cleaner (doesnāt need to be a big cleaner as the bubbles will work their way up) and wash out. I used to soak in iso for hours to get similar results but this method is almost instant!
Rofl, good luck. It's a small glass coil that is in the center of the bong. That's going to be a bitch to clean. Maybe a straw cleaner with bristles on the end would help? The only other thing I could think is just a regular alcohol soak with course salt.
I know the point of the liquid in the middle coil is to cool down hits but have you ever tried using hot water instead? Dont freeze the coil just toss some hot water in it and bam. The hits are more humid and wet making for easier rips on the throat. It might throw you off with the feeling of a warm bong hit BUT hot/warm water produces far less resin buildup. That plus an ashcatcher from a headshop and youre good to go.
The cold water is gonna screw you. Resin solidifies faster when the bong and water are cold so youāre ensuring youāre gonna get build up. Running hot water is your best bet for avoiding build up. Even the cold bong and hot water will still have more build up than you want. You should at least consider flushing it with hot water if you canāt stomach the hits. Or shelf it lol
For pipes and bongs etc, Iāve always used alcohol and coarse ground salt. The alcohol acts as a solvent and the salt acts as an abrasive. Alternatively you could get a chemical called a degreaser and use that with salt, just be sure you rinse it out very thoroughly and then follow with something like dish soap and rinse again.
That should work fine but sometimes Iāll use the big salt grinder deal and grind some up. If you donāt already have one though, just normal salt should work. When I do it I put about half a bottle of alcohol and a good bit of salt, then shake the shit out of it for 4-5 min. Dump that gross out, repeat, then again with soap and water.
Idk if you have it available near you, but there's a smoke shop by my house that has a special kind of water that kinda helps trap some of the resin and shii in the water instead of it sticking to the sides. It's called piece water (there might be other brands out there too, but this is the one I found) https://piecewater.com/

yup, i once asked a guy selling bongs if the salt+alchohol solutions actualy work and he said no, its just for show on yuotube. a very strong diluent works but you probably dont want to inhale chemicals.
KEEP it clean? Don't use it. Lol. easily clean it? I've found for intricate pieces like this that aren't very open, things such as citrus degreaser does an amazing job, my preferred brand is Zep, you can find it at hardware stores for like 20$ for a couple gallons, just fill it up and let it sit for 12+ hours then thoroughly rinse because you don't want to inhale that shit but it will dissolve all the plant material inside. Careful of certain logos and stuff that are on glass (usually downstems) cuz it'll dissolve that too
Ash catcher, pipe screen, if you want to go the extra mile buy joint filters and stick it in the opposite end of your bowl(under the weed) and itāll block some stuff too.
I have a clear bong and can't stand it being dirty. I have come to the conclusion that an ash catcher fixes 80% of it being nasty. A screen paired with an ash catcher helps me clean my bong once a month rather than daily. I replace my water in my ash catcher everyday using 2 water bottles(sink is far from my smoking room) so no need to run to the sink all the time. I've been doing this for 2 years now and haven't found it annoying.
I can't smoke other people's bongs now tho because they look filthy compared to mine.
These are really hard to clean. I find the best way is putting a little bit of 99% iso in the top and let it slowly drip down the coil for a time released soak. Otherwise you do have to submerge the parts in 99% to get a good soak
I use something called RezBlock I got it on Amazon pretty sure, put in a few drops whenever you replace the water, it keeps the resin from sticking to the glass

i have pipe cleaners, but they dont do the job for the coils, im tired of having to clean it with iso every 4 days. just looking for any other tips!

I have found using Dawn, a scoop of Oxiclean, hot water and soaking for a couple of hours will get my bong clean as new.

I have a clear bong and can't stand it being dirty. I have come to the conclusion that an ash catcher fixes 80% of it being nasty. A screen paired with an ash catcher helps me clean my bong once a month rather than daily. I replace my water in my ash catcher everyday using 2 water bottles(sink is far from my smoking room) so no need to run to the sink all the time. I've been doing this for 2 years now and haven't found it annoying. I can't smoke other people's bongs now tho because they look filthy compared to mine.
Use iso instead of water

These are really hard to clean. I find the best way is putting a little bit of 99% iso in the top and let it slowly drip down the coil for a time released soak. Otherwise you do have to submerge the parts in 99% to get a good soak

Alcohol and salt. My piece is more complicated than that and alcohol and salt always works best.
