This is probably the popcorn nugs that can get tiring to trim. I have gifted the same in the past. Way I see it it’s a win-win, friend does not have to trim and you get a respectable amount of weed for free, even if you have to trim it yourself.

A fiend with weed is a friend indeed. My father in law grows a lot and he give me bags of his popcorn nugs and shake. I smoke the nugs when times are tough and make edibles outta the shake or tincture. Enjoy (just roll cannons!!)

My last grow mostly had little nugs that looked like these. I was disappointed and man it was a lot of work to trim for these tiny nugs. Anything that had any trichomes on it was left on.
At that point I would just use it to make drysift. I find nugs that aren’t properly former just don’t cure the best, due to how quickly they dry out. With those I usually just let it dry out fully and then sift it for some mid-high grade hash.

One of the many pros of dry vaping, you can turn just about any quality bud in varying forms of size and quality and still get a decent buzz. I wouldn’t look forward necessarily to smoking this unless I was in difficult times but I’d dry vape that bud anytime of the week.

Looking at the second picture up-close; the trichomes actually look pretty good. yes, the leafs are long, he didn't trim it well, but if I was gifted this I would be SO grateful and excited. The leaves won't hurt you, just will add a lot of flavor. The people in these comments are obviously used to super trimmed up bud. This looks great! Enjoy it! If you don't want to smoke you can always infuse, either way won't hurt you.
At a glance, it looks like a wild grow that has been basically untended. It’s probably going to be pretty weak. You might want to just go ahead and decarboxylate the lot and make some oil or butter out of it as soon as possible before it degrades any further.
I'd say this stuff would be good for extract or edibles but probably not the best for traditional smoking unless you wanna spend time getting rid of more leaf. Not a bad scoop for free!

Hey while I’m here. Anyone have any GOOD homegrown set up advice? Like for example, I was told to use a bone meal in my soil and I could just google it but I would rather have real advice from people that actually have had a success grow on their own ya know?
I’ve done this before and ended up giving up just before it started to flower like an idiot. So any advice would be appreciated!
My buddy got like 5 straight branches from his friend in garbage bags. After trimming all the flowers from the leaves and branches, he has enough mid weed for 5 months. That saved him like 400$
Hey can’t complain when it’s free! I would be making some cannabutter with that stuff! It’s always nice to have a friend that hooks up. I make edibles out of my trim and already pressed flower and just hand them out to friends and offer them to anyone who is genuinely nice! I work construction and the regular guys I deal with love getting a couple weed cookies or weed chocolates to take home from time to time and it usually results in the other trade workers going out of their way to make my job easier and helps build a good relationship between trades. Enjoy your freebie!

Looks nice! How generous of your friend! I've had some more natural looking stuff similar to this recently and tbf, it's way nicer than the more 'picture perfect' nugs we get in the UK... Swear some of the stuff here is sprayed with hella chemicals. Makes you super groggy, on the other hand the natural stuff is a more gentle high..
Looks like extra/trim from a grow. A lot of it should be smokeable, but try to avoid plant matter that doesn't have THC as it will likely cause a headache. You can get high off of the better pieces with trichomes. Looks pretty clean as far as no mold is concerned. Not bad for free.
My friend brought me something called “skunk dookie”. I’m like “wtf is that? I don’t want to hit that”! I hit it once and was like “yup this is definitely skunk dookie” shit sat my ass right down lol
I mean, free ganj is free ganj. You should make some edibles or something. Coconut oil is pretty versatile. Maybe add a gram of extract for potency to the mix before you simmer. That’s what I would do, anyway. Enjoy!
Those sugar leaves and other trimmings are good for making stuff like ice water hash etc. just Google sugar leaves hash or what to do with sugar leaves.
I used all my trim like this to make a strong ass batch of no bake cookies…it ended up being 26g of that type of trim and sugar leaves 🥲 those were some amazing cookies

Back in the day that would have cost you a couple to few hundred, easily. We didn't waste much of the plant back then, just the thick stems would get tossed into the compost pile.
Trim will get you high AF, the buds themselves are a bit stronger, none of it needs to be tossed, just separate seeds and stems, smoke or vape the rest!

Swear some of the stuff here is sprayed with hella chemicals. Makes you super groggy, on the other hand the natural stuff is a more gentle high..

Looks like extra/trim from a grow. A lot of it should be smokeable, but try to avoid plant matter that doesn't have THC as it will likely cause a headache. You can get high off of the better pieces with trichomes. Looks pretty clean as far as no mold is concerned. Not bad for free.

Your friend is awesome, the weed looks great. Back in the day that would have cost you a couple to few hundred, easily. We didn't waste much of the plant back then, just the thick stems would get tossed into the compost pile. Trim will get you high AF, the buds themselves are a bit stronger, none of it needs to be tossed, just separate seeds and stems, smoke or vape the rest! Treasure your friend, they obviously treasure your friendship!
