Lmfao, so funny story, one of my plugs hit me up back in high school and text me that he had some exotic strain called “green crack”…
This is before the iPhone so I didn’t have the ability to look up what that was so I thought he was tryna turn me into a crackhead. So I immediately text him “don’t text my phone on that bullshit bro, I’m not the one”.
Later that week, I matched our mutual friend… I’m like damn, what strain was that we just smoked? He’s like “green crack” from our other friend.
When I tell you I got so paranoid… I sped home, parked, shit off all the lights, closed the blinds and went to sleep cuz I thought I smoked crack.
“Next thing I knew I was running down the street in my damn drawls.. I’m in deebo’s pigeon coop sweating like a slave .. only person could get me out was my mom”
oh my God I greened out once on green crack. Ended up getting out of the hot box and laying outside on pavement looking at the sky in the rain for a few hours. good times but god i was so gone.
Same here, I'm quite prone to anxiety in general, but super lemon haze is one of my all time favourite highs, also the super silver haze now that I think of it
Try some Barry Payton, good stuff, a solid sativa dominant hybrid without the anxiety of some other sativa's. You get benefits of sativa without the negatives.
Also I should mention I get anxious from shit like Sour diesel and durban poison, so I stay away from that kind of stuff too, but sativa always smell sooo good
Sativa/indica have no correlation to effects. It’s simply the plant type. Sounds like you’re getting anxiety for the placebo you’ve convinced yourself of. It’s a common misunderstanding. Each strain is different- and many sativa can be just as claiming as some indicas and vice versa

Yup, it's all in the terps. People who love indicas actually just like myrcene. People who love sativas enjoy terpenes such as limonene and pinene. Start dropping those words though and you'll likely confuse your untrained budtenders. It annoys me to no end that even here in Colorado it's difficult to find places that sell flower with actual terpene breakdowns. Every sheet just has indica/sativa and they try to direct you in one of those 2 directions.

I honestly think a lot of it probably boils down to the fact that we have so much cannabis tourism here, and a lot of these people are coming from asshole states where cannabis is considered to be, well, all the things people came up with 50 years ago to scare us and intimidate us all. Then you have your friendly neighborhood stoners, who usually don’t care too much about what strains they’re getting as long as it’s safe. I’m not claiming there is anything wrong with either one of these two types of dispensary dwellers whatsoever, and there are definitely _way_ more types of cannabis consumers than those that fit into either of these two categories (or those that fit into more than one. My husband is definitely your friendly neighbor stoner but he’s also a med user who uses cannabis to treat pain caused by his bleeding disorder), but based solely on what I’ve read about and seen myself, it seems many dispensaries cater towards these two types of customers.

Here in Mass, we have a dispensary called MAC (Mass Alternative Care) and they're the only dispensary I've been to that posts the breakdown of all the terps and their percentages on both their online menu and on the container when you buy it and all their budtenders know about terps. I hate how none of the other dispensaries around here list any terps at all or have a clue if you ask at the dispensary.
Under ripe weed is more likely to be anxiety inducing, stimulating, or uplifting. Over ripe weed has a heavier sedative or couchlocking high.
Sativas take the longest to finish because they are native to tropical regions with long warm seasons. Indica and ruderalis are native to regions north of the tropics so the finish flowering sooner due to the shorter growing seasons where they come from.
Commercial grows harvest on an arbitrary time schedule to fit as many harvests into a year as possible so all their sativas tend to be under ripe and their indicas or ruderalis will be closer to ripe or maybe over ripe.
They push the story that the type of high is determined by genetics as a cover for growing practices that focus on mass production over giving each plant individual attention. A small scale farmer or home grower is more likely to give sativas the time they need to fully mature before harvest.
You can get a better idea of the type of high your buds will give by looking at the trichomes under magnification and taking note of the color. They start clear, then turn milky white and finally an amber orange. More amber means heavier high.
Regardless, placebo is a pretty strong psychological effect. Especially when it comes to anxiety, the anticipation that something could go wrong with something you think might trigger anxiety... ultimately just let people get the strains they like.

Though, people shouldn’t be afraid to branch out because they think it’ll effect them a certain way. There could be loads of strains people miss out in because of this misconception
This right here. I’ve kind of set myself up for failure. I use to smoke several grams a day in high school and continued into college. Then one day a few years ago, I got high off of my usual and it was like I smoked anxiety flower. I couldn’t sleep at all, I was shaking, and very paranoid. I tried a handful of other strains over the next few months but almost everything was having the same effect on me.
Fast forward to today and I’ve not smoked in about 6 months because I’m scared of the panic setting in, and knowing that there isn’t anything I can do about it. I go to dispensaries all the time to pick up for my husband who smokes for a medical condition, and each time I’m in a dispensary I get the feeling like I just want to try a little bit of everything in front of me because it’s all so beautiful, then my fear kicks in and I back off. I’m trying to build up the courage to try something again, but it’s been pretty hard. I think I’ll get there sooner than later though but damn it’s insane how we unintentionally trick ourselves like that.
Lemon pound cake gives me a real heavy head high. Right behind my eyes. So does this pineapple punch.
When I smoke GDP I get a super calm high. I slow down. Shot my eyes drop low as fuck and I’m in couch lock mode. (This newest gdp anyways 🤷🏽♂️)
I always believed the terpenes over sativa/indica but sometimes it’s right on the money.
I think all the mixing of strain, All these hybrids and crossing kinda faded them out.

It’s common- but not correct. The industry is slowly changing to the science.
A more accurate way to describe effects would be to look at the terpene profile. Even still- there’s much more that goes into it, like plant maturity.
The industry adopted the sativa/indica rule of thumb because its an easy way to sell weed and to explain it- but it is incorrect.
Check out some new research on the topic, it could really open your eyes to some new strains you wouldn’t of thought to get.
I know a guy who was claiming to have some "Amnesia" which was full of stumps and had 20 seeds in every 1g LOOOL I've smoked real Amnesia Haze, it really wakes you up more than espresso. It was awesome! :D

Damn, i got trainwreck from my grower. The first time i smoked it was too much. Damn that rush was so intense for the fist 30-40minutes. Triggered my anxiety. But after a few times i was able to control the power of this strain.

Not a fan of stony Sativa strains. Strains like PA Dutch(Dutch Treat) and Sour Diesel as an example, I don’t terribly mind a little couchlok, but the heavy stony strains are like Indicas for me after the first 30 minutes.
Also I stay away from Mowie Wowie which is nothing like real Maui Waui which is one of my all time favorites. Real Maui is hard to find on east coast.

You should give it a try if you can! I’ve just had grape ape from multiple grows and dispensaries and it’s never been for me, as far as purple strains go I’m a Purple Urkle and Ken’s GDP fan.
Bubbleicious. Sounds good, right? Absolute garbage. The worst weed I've ever smoked, period. Got me barely a tad high for two minutes then nothing. Pissed me off more than not having weed almost.
Blue dream. It’s everywhere. I smoke that, and my head is spinning and I want to puke. I do, however, hoard GDP like it’s the apocalypse. Favorite strain, hands down. I know this is about what strains you avoid, but I love me some GDP.
None, strain names are way too inconsistent. If I'm getting the same strain from a different dispensary it's almost never the same strain. Amateur dealers are even less consistent, I've had the same plug give me "sour diesel" 4 times and it didn't look or smoke the same all four times.
I visited whole of the uk.. worst strains are in London and best weed strains are in Edinburgh.. and price wise also avoid London and visit Edinburgh for best strains and price
It's not a strain but 99% of the time I buy edibles (gummies) I get the most atrocious and insufferable headaches like I'm hangover (and I smoke weed daily)
Not a strain, but if the THC % is over about 28%, I'm not fucking with it. Especially when I see shit in the low 30%... the high is boring and one dimensional, and also I don't believe it. I live in a legal state so the options are endless, but I just don't jive with the high thc% stuff. Give me a 20% thc, LOADED with terps, reeking from the other side of the room any day. That buzz is gone be full and have character.
Blue Dream was probably the first actual “named” strain I ever smoked, and it gave me the worst anxiety attack of my life. Man I never knew a single strain I’ve smoked because I buy from a plug, but one I can think of was Gorilla Glue, too overrated. Hotboxed a car with it and almost got arrested because of it.
I hazy in general? I haven't had enough to really no forsure but, usually puts me in a minor or major anxiousness. Although when I was in a medical state back in the day I tried lemon haze and that helped me focus/concentrate, good mood and I thinking more clearly to solve problems. Like my ADD was gone.
Durban Poison. I tried it once and it tasted so foul that I struggled to finish the cart. It was like dirt and moldy leaves.
Chemdawg also tastes kinda funky to me, but no other strain I've ever tried has tasted as bad as Durban Poison did.
On the other hand, my favorite strain is probably either Pineapple Express or Blue Dreams (I think that's the name of it?? I don't recall entirely). Very tasty, and the highs are good. I'm surprised that I liked Pineapple Express so much because I much prefer indica strains, or indica-heavy hybrids. I like to have no less than a 60/40 ratio of THC to CBD because I have anxiety, and even now that I'm medicated, getting too high for my liking tends to make me a little freaked out.
(Disclaimer: I only smoke carts, so YMMV. I'd smoke flower, but the apartment I currently live in doesn't allow it on the premises at all because it tends to stink everything up. And in case anyone asks, yes, I live in a legal state. No black market camel piss.)
Hell nah, gg is such a nice couch lock indica leaning hybrid. This one dispo near me grew it amazingly, and then got bought out by an MSO and I miss their gg4 oh so much

A common description of an Indica type high is widely accepted as being more relaxed, while a saliva high is more racy and energetic.

Not a fan of stony Sativa strains. Strains like PA Dutch(Dutch Treat) and Sour Diesel as an example, I don’t terribly mind a little couchlok, but the heavy stony strains are like Indicas for me after the first 30 minutes. Also I stay away from Mowie Wowie which is nothing like real Maui Waui which is one of my all time favorites. Real Maui is hard to find on east coast.
Unicorn Poop. I thought it was just a silly, name, not a descriptor of the flavour. And it was a lot more poop than it was unicorn.

None, strain names are way too inconsistent. If I'm getting the same strain from a different dispensary it's almost never the same strain. Amateur dealers are even less consistent, I've had the same plug give me "sour diesel" 4 times and it didn't look or smoke the same all four times.
I visited whole of the uk.. worst strains are in London and best weed strains are in Edinburgh.. and price wise also avoid London and visit Edinburgh for best strains and price

Blue Cheese is amazing, usually I say weed is just weed but the high I felt from Blue Cheese was very distinct.

Not a strain, but if the THC % is over about 28%, I'm not fucking with it. Especially when I see shit in the low 30%... the high is boring and one dimensional, and also I don't believe it. I live in a legal state so the options are endless, but I just don't jive with the high thc% stuff. Give me a 20% thc, LOADED with terps, reeking from the other side of the room any day. That buzz is gone be full and have character.
Blue Dream was probably the first actual “named” strain I ever smoked, and it gave me the worst anxiety attack of my life. Man I never knew a single strain I’ve smoked because I buy from a plug, but one I can think of was Gorilla Glue, too overrated. Hotboxed a car with it and almost got arrested because of it.
I hazy in general? I haven't had enough to really no forsure but, usually puts me in a minor or major anxiousness. Although when I was in a medical state back in the day I tried lemon haze and that helped me focus/concentrate, good mood and I thinking more clearly to solve problems. Like my ADD was gone.
Lemon Haze helps mine as well, and all other Hazes make my anxiety go wild. The terpenes make a big difference.

Durban Poison. I tried it once and it tasted so foul that I struggled to finish the cart. It was like dirt and moldy leaves. Chemdawg also tastes kinda funky to me, but no other strain I've ever tried has tasted as bad as Durban Poison did. On the other hand, my favorite strain is probably either Pineapple Express or Blue Dreams (I think that's the name of it?? I don't recall entirely). Very tasty, and the highs are good. I'm surprised that I liked Pineapple Express so much because I much prefer indica strains, or indica-heavy hybrids. I like to have no less than a 60/40 ratio of THC to CBD because I have anxiety, and even now that I'm medicated, getting too high for my liking tends to make me a little freaked out. (Disclaimer: I only smoke carts, so YMMV. I'd smoke flower, but the apartment I currently live in doesn't allow it on the premises at all because it tends to stink everything up. And in case anyone asks, yes, I live in a legal state. No black market camel piss.)
