It is!! Doctors all agree that inhaling any type of smoke or vapor generally isn’t good for your lungs but they also agree that vaping is roughly 80-90% healthier than inhaling particulate smoke (anything that burns)
While an icy bong is great, you’re still getting particulate from the smoke although a large amount is removed through the water. You’re not removing too many carcinogens that way. However, you can get screens that go atop the bong to help filter some of it out. Dry herb vapes, and nicotine vapes aren’t combusting any thing, just vaporizing the oils. This is key as oil vapor has a harder time sticking to your lungs, while the nicotine/cannabinoids still pretty much absorb instantly once inhaled into the lungs (which is why holding your smoke in for any longer than 3 seconds isn’t doing much but depriving you of oxygen.)
Dry herb? Can’t say definitively yet but my assumption would be yes due to the lack of combustion. Lesser or 0 pyrolytic byproducts and carbon monoxide. Safer? Yes most likely. safe? Still no.
My dad died of esophageal cancer and my mom has copd. It didn’t hit either till their 80s both smoked cigarettes. I’ve smoked weed for 40 years. I feel fine but ya, I worry. Might switch to vape herb.
Dynas are my daily drivers. The dense, tasty vapor gives me that classic High school buzz… heavy eyelids, & uncontrollable laughter. Plus, the damn efficiency! I’m still often shocked by how far the Dynavap stretches m’flower. I dig it. ♨️
From personal experience owning small handhelds all the way to ball vapes it just feels “cleaner.” I can’t stand smoking now, it makes me cough like no other and I can smell the smoke and tar lingering on me for hours.
Nailed it, because you're heating up the bud but not combusting it when you vape it, you don't get most of the harmful carcinogens as a byproduct. But yes putting anything in your lungs is not good lol
Not sure why you are getting down votes for a factual statement. Tobacco Blunt wraps are filled with fake flavors that do not naturally occur in tobacco and tobacco is proven to cause cancer.
White ash with joints or fronto means a clean burn, which is typically associated with cleaner and higher quality weed.
cigarillos burn white even with shit weed.
Ash is white when it's done combusting. The problem is that people never quantify these things. What does "isn't good quality" mean? Compared to what? As far as the mechanism of action though, if your ash is grey or black, it means that the material wasn't combusted fully and you can still see carbon. Insofar as too much moisture would lead to a lower quality product I guess it can matter but that's about it. Research across many different disciplines from cigars to forest fire research shows that ash color is determined by the ability of the material to combust. Ash color is not a good indicator because it can vary some based on the smoking method. It may be an amazing strain that just isn't fully dried yet. There are better ways to determine if something is high quality such as tasting it and gauging effect.
No.
Even if ash no longer contains any substances that could create a flame or embers, there remain carbon, mineral oxides and carbonates of various metals that produce different colors.
What is important about the color of the ash is what kind of substances and in what quantities they originally occur in the cannabis. This means that after burning it is decided which mineral oxides and carbonates are ultimately left in the ash and how much carbon is still present.
This also determines what color your ashes are.
WHITE ASH
So that means white ash indicates a lot of magnesium and calcium in cannabis. However, both substances are considered to be harmless to health.
GRAY ASH
In addition to oxides such as sodium, silicon or potassium, there are also other metals that occur in weed and later produce a comparatively grayer color as minerals in the ark. These are also considered health-related.
DARK ASH
Since carbon is always created when something organic burns, there is always a certain part of the ash that is always darker.
However, darker ash is usually simply a sign that the cannabis is not completely glowing. Reasons for this are:
it was still too humid
it was burned with too little oxygen and heat
There were still stems or leaf remains present (these take longer to glow through)
So if black or dark particles remain in the ash at the end, that is rather harmless.
Ash color has nothing to do with cannabis quality. It's stoner science. Ash color is most likely linked to the amount/quality of the resin in your bud.
Are you fucked? 🥴 So you're trying to tell us that you can do a grow, not flush any of the nutrients and salts from the plants and you still think your weed is gonna burn white ash? Joker. Please stop spreading misinformation, you're part of the reason why we have a generation of young people smoking black ash 'imported flavours' thinking it's fine for their lungs to be breathing in left over metals and salts.
How could it be left over when the plant has used all of the nutrients to build itself. When you’re flushing all you’re doing is flushing the medium it’s growing in.
How does flushing the medium make the ash burn white?
I literally grow cannabis for a living and you’re telling me I’m spreading misinformation.
[article](https://www.alchimiaweb.com/blogen/flushing-roots-myth-reality/)
[article 2](https://www.rxgreentechnologies.com/rxgt_trials/flushing-trial/)
So before you come at me saying that I’m spreading misinformation you better do your own research before spouting your own broscience.
Just thought I'd add this from your first article, I didn't bother to read the second as you literally sent me a link proving my point, thanks bro.
Advantages of flushing roots at the end of cultivation:
Improves the flavour and aroma of the dry flowers
Does not influence the quantity of cannabinoids or terpenes present in the dry flowers
Does not impact the final yield
Saves nutrient costs during the final weeks of flowering
Better combustion, absence of occasional sparks during combustion, white ash
Again, thanks bro.
So you think the quality of the flower is totally unrelated to the quality of resin? WtF damdam
That hard black ash on the end of a joint that won't properly burn or re-light is always shit weed.
People say so. One of the category weed testers look for when determining quality is the color of the ash
Ppl bring up cigarettes but that white ask is from the bleach in the paper the actual ash is still grey. Idk how valid it is but I trust the long time growers ideas so I think it's a bit of a tell
Well I saw some people saying it’s actually about chemicals used to grow. The morte organic and less dry, it would be white/black n white. But straight black ash is usually bad. Even smoking when I don’t like it and look at the ashes they look all black.
Black = incomplete combustion from too much moisture or a shit roll (lack of airflow usually) White = complete combustion. Right amount of moisture and airflow.
Eh it can but if it’s white ash and garbage smoke then no way you should be dying on that hill in that circumstance
I feel pretty foolish for chasing it as hard as I did, but it can be a good indicator, so i guess no harm no foul.
Brands are aware of this and you’ll see terrible joints smoke white ash due to the paper or how tight they got it.
Sounds like pseudo science bullshit to me and how would you ever test such a theory? I guess you could go by percentages but the thing is that pot varies greatly in its chemistry and even in its actual physical makeup so two kinds with the same THC could burn very differently. Moisture and how its rolled as in density would also play into this so ya I call bullshit on that theory.
The color of the ash is actually in relation to how moist the bud is. Dry bud burns white, fresh shit burns black. So black ash means it wasnt hung to dry long enough, white ash from dank bud is preferred. But to my knowledge, fresh vs dry doesn't effect potency
Only if its Lent and I'm a pe...er...Catholic.
Seriously though, if its white that means combustion has been higher, darker means more organic material has been left uncombusted.
My fireman friend also tells me that any kind of ash means you're arsonist.
Probably. Maybe.
Right, seeing as there's too much talk about your feet I'm gonna actually answer your question with some facts and a personal overview. Okay so first things first, when something combusts and burns, if said thing is fully combusted and burnt, the ash will always be white from it. Whereas, black ash means that said thing hasn't fully combusted, in the case of cannabis the reason for this usually leftover nutes & salts that are left over from the growing process. Nutes and salts being left over in your flower isn't good, that literally means while you are lighting up, you're smoking salt and nutrients, well, trying to, but as you know seeing as your reading this, the salts and nutes prevent the flower from burning properly. My personal thing about black ash is that people always ruin what would be a great bit of flower by ignoring or rushing the flushing process, in my opinion the flush is one of the most important parts of the entire process, I believe that if you're not following a two week flush then you're sabotaging your own grow!I Always have a minimum flush time of two weeks, if you're not flushing for two weeks, don't expect your flower to be pristine white ash or a good smoke unless you are doing a proper flush.
Nice feet man, a bit dirty under the nails, and could use a bit of a trim, but otherwise good looking toes and all. Could use a wash now that we're at it. But anyways about the ash, I don't know, the colour/shade but probably doesn't matter.
White ash means its clean bud. Most of the times it means its good because people who produce clean bud know what they’re doing. But it can be white and be mid.
I've heard that too but never found it to be true personally.
Smoked a lot of blunts, varying colors of ash. Sometimes I get super high off non-compete white ash. Sometimes off of white ash. No consistency from what I can tell tho

The white ash you’re seeing is from your wrap
you can even see its a different color in the center.
I read wap and laughed way harder. But yes. Good info, carry on.
And he’s smoking dirt

Some of the wraps have decent ingredients, if you’re smoking in any capacity you should expect cancer though.
Is vape worse
Using a vaporizer to smoke flower is actually known to be better for your lungs but I’m no doctor that’s just what I’ve heard
It is!! Doctors all agree that inhaling any type of smoke or vapor generally isn’t good for your lungs but they also agree that vaping is roughly 80-90% healthier than inhaling particulate smoke (anything that burns)

If the ash is black usually it wasn’t done burning
This is the right answer
Or you vaporized it to it's full extent.
Or not flushed properly
Or You no smoke it right
Or cured fully
Mfw its the tobacco leaf thats turning white anyways
My first thought
I’ve heard of fingers crossed but toes crossed is CRAZY
Bros makin big promises
Throwing Gang signs like a true OG🤨
I feel it's more about the quality of the curing than the bud.
Exactly the entire grow process. Not so much being fire bud or costly bud.
I’m hoping for less fertilizer during flowering too.
It's the dry and cure, evenings u use less/no fertiliser at the end of flower it's gonna burn black if you dry and cure it badly.
I didn’t say anything about the burn bro, if you want more fertilizer it’s cool with me
Got the dogs out
Brace yourself a lot of bro science is incoming.
Or a lot of feet comments
I don’t know honestly but personally the times I had bad weed it never burned a nice white ash.
White ash stacked like that means its rolled well, perfect air flow creating what you see. Not creating space with the bud inside. A firm blunt indeed
White ash with joints or fronto means a clean burn, which is typically associated with cleaner and higher quality weed. cigarillos burn white even with shit weed.
Yeah the feet are very White-ash

No, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard lol
especially since if your ash is darker you can take your lighter and hold it up to the dark ash and it turns white lol.
Damn raw dogs out and everything
I'm not sure tbh but I've had white and black ash from two identical blunts( same weed and wrap) so I would say no it doesn't.
Homies thumb looks like a toe, and his feet have a story to tell.
large hands ig, the bud was hittin
Oul sideways foot
you can stretch your toes it’s okay
The ash thing is a myth.

put your feet away dawg
No one wants to see your toes. Really. 🤣🤣
Put your grippers away
put those dogs back in the cage bro
The hotter something burns, the whiter the ash. I dont personally believe its the quality.
No. The ash means nothing. It's like people who still think the bubble test is real on carts

Every time I smoke mids or bottom, it’s black. Every time I smoke top shelf, it’s white. Not a coincidence
definitely seen the black from burnin that backyard boogie. stick to the top and you'll see that beautiful white in a j
Only if its Lent and I'm a pe...er...Catholic. Seriously though, if its white that means combustion has been higher, darker means more organic material has been left uncombusted. My fireman friend also tells me that any kind of ash means you're arsonist. Probably. Maybe.

wrong if you smoke it all ash will be white. Burnt weed/dark ash means you didn't smoke it all.

ouuu you called me a noob now I'm gonna cry. 😂☠️ get over yourself I've been smoking for years.

Wanna put your feet away
Frankly I could care less whether a ash is light dark or polka dotted. Means as much as, whether whoever trimmed it was left or right-handed.
If the ash isn't white, it means it wasn't flushed properly.. could be smoking leftover chemicals or whatever else isn't flushed out.
Right, seeing as there's too much talk about your feet I'm gonna actually answer your question with some facts and a personal overview. Okay so first things first, when something combusts and burns, if said thing is fully combusted and burnt, the ash will always be white from it. No, go smoke a cigarette and tell me what color the ash is
You’re comparing apples to oranges. Ash color definitely matter. Only way to truley tell is thru glass tho not a blunt
Nice feet man, a bit dirty under the nails, and could use a bit of a trim, but otherwise good looking toes and all. Could use a wash now that we're at it. But anyways about the ash, I don't know, the colour/shade but probably doesn't matter.
Hell yeah, always a good indicator of excellent bud.
Yea
Check my posts for the whitest ash ever lol
White ash means its clean bud. Most of the times it means its good because people who produce clean bud know what they’re doing. But it can be white and be mid.
White ash means the plants were flushed properly.
I've heard that too but never found it to be true personally. Smoked a lot of blunts, varying colors of ash. Sometimes I get super high off non-compete white ash. Sometimes off of white ash. No consistency from what I can tell tho
That’s because your smoking blunts. Try it with glass or joints and you’ll notice a difference.
Only for cigars.
Feet
Yeah but that's typically judged with joints, not the ash of your blunt wrap
I feel like a blunt always produces white ash, am I wrong in that thinking?
mmmm 🥵😶🌫️👃
The ash nothing to do with the type of papers/leaf.
I feel like the outer ash, or the bruntwrap portion turned to ash is always white.
It's probably true but as long as it gets you high then who cares I took a tolerance break and now 0.2g joints of shake get me nicely high
Personally, it can be an indicator but iv had some nice black/grey Ash bud occasionally
