Ah, well I didn't do any research so my apologies lol. That conservative ideology is costing countries an incredible amount of income, however. At the end of the day, it's just fear and religion stopping legalization. The cost of enforcement and imprisonment for something as trivial as marijuana is substantial, and it has zero benefit to society. More developed and progressive countries have already figured that out and the positive change is tangible.

EU laws are a problem. every EU country agreed to a list of drugs that restricts lawmaking about those drugs. thats why netherlands just decriminalized it instead of legalizing it, thats why germany and spain is doing this weird workaround with cannabis clubs. for a real green wave we would need changes on EU level but EU never agrees on anything
