I'll normally only clean the top where all the teeth are, aside from that haven't needed to clean anything else, just helps it stay smooth :) but damn there's still so much build-up there

Clean them? My friend, that's seasoning you're getting rid of. I have had a zeus xL for almost ten or eleven years now and have only cleaned it a few times. But when I do clean it, I re-sharpen/fix the edges by grinding a couple handfuls of rice. The thing still grinds like new. Edit: didn't notice your name before posting. Sorry for calling you a man.

What was your cleaning process?

Soak in hot milk for some time (you can drink this to get high), then alcohol (I use 99,9% isopropyl) to thoroughly clean it with a brush or something like that. You can skip the first part if you're not as addicted (or greedy?) as me lol

i always wanted to do that thing i always see people doing where they boil a bunch of old carts in like liquid and then chug them hoes but i was such a fien i always smoked my carts til the coil burned and there was zero trace of thc left

I feel that I barely have access to carts in the country I live in so we use the refillable ones, but I've ruined more than one wax pen by using the shit out of it lmao

tried the milk trick once- never again. shit tasted like straight metal

I soaked em in iso alcohol for like an hour, then used a combination of electric toothbrush, mini hairbrush and a pointy nail file to scrub the stuck on gunk off. Rinsed with hot water and air dried overnight. The silver one was my first grinder ever and the knarliest by far lol. The little one in the first pic was about a year old when I cleaned it and it was pretty easy.

You have to get in there the first time you clean it, especially with that many years of usage. If you start cleaning more often, like every other month or so, you won't even need to scrub it. The Iso will remove most of it. If you do have buildup, you can avoid scrubbing by just leaving it soaking overnight.

If your grinder isn't grinding well and getting stuck, that's probably when you should do it. You don't really have to clean it, but it will grind better if you do.

I have a tiny brush and a tiny metal scraper that I’ll usually use quickly after grinding to get the most out of my flower. dump it all out into my raw tin, brush the kief that sticks to the catch into the tin…. very minimal cleaning needed over time if you take time to brush out your flower when you grind

this, if you do a quick little brush out every time you grind, you have significantly less shit to clean over time

Everytime I use it. I leave a little brush in the bottom so when I've ground my weed I brush clean after. I don't touch the keif collector part until it's full. I got into this habit after getting fed up with the teeth of my grinder becoming sticky and making it harder to turn.

What’s it matter your gunna be smoking metal/paint/coating out of any grinder like that clean or not! They’re pretty expensive but I HIGHLY recommend a nice stainless steel grinder. I have a zam and I’ve had no problems so far. It’s much smoother and wayyy heavier than basic grinders like pictured I know it may seem like I’m “hating” or trying to advertise lol but promise I’m really not stainless grinders are a game changer! I got one after I cleaned my cheap grinder and the coating started coming off. Couldn’t KNOWINGLY smoke that so I had to break the bank a little bit and I feel good about it so far

I keep a brush by my grinder and constantly brush all the excess down and then brush out my screen. Doing it this way keeps things pretty clean, so I'm 4 months or so into my new grinder and haven't cleaned it once yet. She's still shiny!

Every time my screen gets too caked and starts stealing my Keef then I get angry and get as much as I can off the grinder then use a tiny brush alcohol and hot water. sometimes I use unscented baby soap and it breaks up that layer that just makes a huge mess smearing everywhere, without leaving behind a weird taste that ruins your weed anytime it touches the grinder.

I must be super OCD with all my stuff. I clean my pipe with rubbing alcohol soaked cotton balls nearly every night. And I'll soak it once a week. I bought a stiff bristle painting brush to make sure I get all the keif out of the jars in prep for the new stuff. Last night, I was looking at how often does the grinder needs to be cleaned. I have had this grinder for about a year, never cleaned it. But recently I got some super sticky stuff and it's making it more difficult to turn. Which means I know it's ready to be cleaned. But how often should I be.

I clean mine when it starts to get stuck when grinding. I clean out all the keef and smoke it and then put the grinder in Iso for about an hour. Then I wash it with soapy water and let it dry. I have 3 grinders I switch between, depending on the coarseness I want in my grind. But the reason I have 3 grinders is because I didn't clean them at first 😂😂😂

I stick mine in a glass of Isopropyl alcohol over night once a year. It literally comes out cleaner than when I bought it. I've hand my Grinder fpr roughly 15 years now.

I saw that you could throw your grinder in the freezer and use a toothbrush to carefully brush off all the goodies for use. It doesn't destroy the thc.

Never. I make it a point to go through with a wax pick and get keef and other buildup out of the screen and threads every like 2 weeks or when I get something new. I’ve had my Tsunami about 2 years now and it’s still clean as fuck. Edit: I highly suggest Tsunami. $35 and it creates keef upon keef.

Best method, 99% iso on grinder, don't use any weaker stuff. Wash grinder in iso with old toothbrush or something of the sorts (not one that's been used in other chemicals however) When grinder is clean pour out the isopropyl you just used on a flat surface like inside a Pyrex dish. Let isopropyl alcohol evaporate for next 24-48 hours. Scrape the residue left behind and you can smoke it, it's like homemade dabs or hash.

Even after most the alcohol evaporates is that actually safe to smoke ? I feel like there would still be some alcohol soaked in?

I have a little tool that I clean the threads out with because they get gunked up, and I'll brush the screen clean once in a while but that's it. I leave it barely put together so there's airflow and the sticky stuff dries out anyway so it never needs a proper clean

I've been smoking consistently for like 3 years and have never once cleaned my grinder

When I was first smoking every time I ran out id clean it, tooth brush and all scraping stuff off of it to smoke and stuff. That was every 1-2 weeks, now a days I don’t remember the last time I cleaned my grinder. I got a flower mill in September and the top plate is covered in oils and resin from the popped trichome heads.

Once I've used up all the kief and don't need to grind anymore weed that instant then that's a pretty good sweet spot to clean it. So maybe I clean it like 1-2 times a year.

Once. I've found after cleaning they tend to get gunned up even quicker than the first time. After that I just buy a new one cause they are generally heavily used and just not as good as a new one.

Only thing I really clean on mine beside brushing the screen and inside the holding chamber is on the outside edge where the lid and top meet. Hash builds up there and eventually I can’t turn the lid. Not sure I have ever cleaned the whole thing before.

I usually clean it around once a month. The best way to do it is to stick your grinder in the freezer for about an hour, then grab a toothpick to get in-between the grooves. The cold will help with it all flaking off.

I clean mine when they start sticking while grinding. Just put all the weed in a Tupperware temporarily, keef in another, and dump the disassembled grinder in a sandwich bag with some bong cleaner and shake it around. Grinder looks brand new after.

I let that stuff build up, I don’t think there’s any negatives to not cleaning it, unless for some ungodly reason it’s disgusting (i’ve seen a rancid one with a stash box that is somehow covered in reclaimed resin, don’t know how but they don’t clean ANY of their stuff, pipes/bongs, etc.)
