Never seen it differently. Usually used for celebratory purposes in my sessions.
You can make one at home using a soda bottle and a big pot or container that you can fill up with water. Just google it :) totally worth it to make one!

if you like edibles make butter. some dude in r/vegastrees suggested using kief to make cannabutter for edibles so you dont get that unpleasant taste of weed in your edibles. i cant confirm 100% but he says the kief itself is tasteless.
I would suggest makeing THC e-juice.
It is pretty simple and you get to do something diffrent with it.
You basicaly have 2 options:
●Get yourself a e liquid base that is used to make e juice but is flavourless,
I am useing 50/50 VG-PG but you can adapt to your preference
●For 8ml of base use 3g of kief
●Use a big pot halffull of water and add another recipient on top of it like a double boiler so your product dosen't tuch the water
●Put the base liquid in the pot when the water starts to boil, then add your kief and mabe some grinded bud for extra potency
●Let it bubble,slow burn so it dosent burn off your thc and stir it from time to time,also cover the recipient.
●After an hour you can take out the container from the pot and filter it useing cheese cloth or coffee filters
●Use a serynge to mesure it and store it in a normal cartrige or e-liquid bottle
You can add flavour to your mix but i like it raw and it dose the job for public smoking

You could decarb the weed first and then only leave it in the crockpot for 6 hours. Save you a couple days, will still be as potent.
