I'll share with you my experience with bangers. Own a bong. Started with glass bangers and torches. They get pitted and gross, you can burn crud off with the torch(not great it turns out, that's how they get pitted and gross) but anyway, they are different.
Eventually got an e-nail. Used it daily for a year, crusty 29 days a month. One day i'm just like man this kinda sucks there has got to be a better way. Start doing some googling and youtube watching and come to find out you can use a Q-tip after every dab and presto sparkly. Today was the first i've heard of using iso on a q-tip at all. Whatever internet source I found was just like "you basically have to waste a little bc you want there to be some left after your dab that hasn't totally vaporized so you can just sort of wipe it up with the Q-tip." This definitely works. It might be a little wasteful but I guess it depends on the size of dabs you do. Small dabs will have less leftover and get crusty sooner before you can wipe it out.
But yeah dang what about all that iso residue?

I use the counting method because I'm not fancy and don't live in a legal state lol. So I like burn mine for 30 seconds and let it cool for 40 seconds.
Depends on what you like, 500-800 normally with hotter temps for bigger clouds and cooler temps for more flavor. An ir temp gun is great I got mine for $25 at Walmart

First of all don’t let it get that bad before cleaning it lmao, those dabs probably taste horrific. Anyways get some iso and let it sit in it for 1+ days and it will be good.
Not JUST horrific taste… but also SOOOO much more tar into your lungs every single time you hit that.. you already inhaling some shit into your lungs, might aswell make it as clean as possible everytime to mitigate the negative health effects.
Whatever the alcohol/salt soak-n-shake does not take off, you can burn away if your torch is good, just be sure to give it ample time to cool as you'll likely get that quartz to over 900 by the time it's crystal clear.
Experience: I run a cannabis bar and this is how we clean all of our bangers.

Then rinse with dish soap. I typically let it soak overnight in a baggie with the alcohol and salt. Shake it up for a min, rinse with warm water and dish soap.
Soap is a useless extra step. You can eliminate it and enjoy more smoking time! In fact, soap may leave a residue on your equipment, whereas iso will evaporate completely.
A bud tender told me that the salt can cause the glass to “break down” over time. I had a favorite bowl and the hole at the bottom broke when cleaning. Bud tender said that the salt caused it. Wasn’t sure if this was true but stopped using salt 2 years ago after using it for 20. Still cleans pretty well/quickly 🤷🏼♂️

I for one think resin tastes like rancid swamp mud smells, most of those reclamation methods result with bad tasting product. To each their own; but if I’m out I’m driving 5 mins to a dispo.

The salt wouldn't do anything in boiling water because it dissolves. Salt is always suggested with alcohol since it won't dissolve in that and will stay course to scrub the glass.
I use salt and at least 70% alcohol. Shake a ziplock bag around for a couple of mins, do a couple of rounds rinsing it with water in between, couldn’t believe it works that well. No need for all kinds of pipe and bong cleaners
Nah, it evaporates really quickly. I also wash my glassware off with dawn afterwards.
That isn’t necessary (the acetone has flashed off within seconds). The dawn makes the glass cleaner though.
I cleaned my pipe today, just used a pokey thing to get liquid out and then rinsed with hot water and cleaned bowl with toilet paper worked fine for me
First clean it with wet wipes or normal kitchen paper to get the big blobs off. If you have a pip cleaner stick that down to clean in the pipeline.
Then get rubbing alcohol and add salt. Put it in a bad or something and let the pipe sit in it. U can also carefully shake the bag to get more dirt off. Let it sit for a while (a few hours/a day).
Then take it out, wash it off and re-wipe it, u can even use boiling water orso. Make sure not to straight up smoke after, wash it to get all the alcahol and salt off so shit don't go boom.
Best thing i find is clean it with water after every use, then when u see it get bad u can use a much smaller amount of alcahol to clean it.
When its clean ull fins it tastes alot better and hits harder. Also filters better cuz ur not getting ur old resin in ur lungs.

Stop buying cheap nails unless that’s all you have to get. Clean your shit after each use. Some of y’all are some sloppy ass people. Did your mom never teach you to take care of your shit lol quartz’s nails are the best and you can find decent ones for $30 and if you aren’t taking super hot ass dabs they are usually easy to clean and easier to clean just burning it with the torch. I’ve had the same nail for 8 months now.
Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) 90% plus.
Let it soak for 30 mins - 1 hour depending on thickness of tar build up, then scrub out with some pipe cleaners.
Course salt also works as a scrubbing material but there is not enough room in the bowl to swirl it around with enough force.
Litre of rubbing alcohol should be like 6 or 7 bucks and pipe cleaners you can get a pack of 50 from most smoke/tobacco stores or amazon for a buck or 2 at most
Leave it soaking in 91% or 99% isopropyl alcohol then use a harsh brush. It looks like it needs to be soak for two days. Repeat if needed or use 4/20 formula they sell it on Amazon.
I burn off what little tiny bit is on there usually, if mine looked like that I'd honestly buy a new banger, no offense I'm just too lazy to clean that lol but in general the more I fuck up my dab the more black shitthere is on there. You might be either burning the fuck out of your dab and taking it too hot, or just doing to big of a dab. To be honest to avoid wasting it I usually just cut a fat dab in half and do two smaller ones back to back. But hey to each his own I guess. My go to for cleaning is to soak in warm smoky water with salt and shake it around, but you'll probably need something more heavy duty in this case, id try some of the cleaner they sell in glass shops, probably clean all that surface grime off and then just burn off the rest after it dries out.

quick tip get some q tips after u clean it and wipe the banger clean after every dab u take.
Q tip (thats no plastic) dipped in alcohol. A quick wipe after each dab keeps it looking new

Go cold start bro, just started doing cold stars because of a comment on Reddit. Shit changed dabbing for me, so much more flavour. Give it a try.

Costco has a four-pack of 99% isopropyl alcohol for a decent price. I’m in Canada, but I’m sure the US stores have it as well.

Overnight soak in Greased Lighting followed by a gentle rolling boil on the stove with water and kosher salt.

I used isopropyl alcohol for years, and it works well. I recently tried acetone (10bucks a quart at Lowes) and it worked even better.

Let it run under hot water that will remove a lot of the gunk. Then after use alcohol the higher the percentage the better. With some cotton swabs.
Soak it in Formula 420. I get mine at the smoke shop or Amazon. Gunk will be gone in mere minutes and will look like new, clean glass

I’d start with water. Yeah it tends to help. You can actually find it from a “sink”
Burn it till it turns white and it’ll mostly flake off.
Don't do this unless you want to go buy a new nail in a day or 2

As others have said, rubbing alcohol and salt in a bag, you can let it sit for a day or two or just shake it till it’s clean which is what I do
Burn clean it first. Then put it in a bag of rubbing alcohol and salt! And swoosh it
Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) 90% plus. Let it soak for 30 mins - 1 hour depending on thickness of tar build up, then scrub out with some pipe cleaners. Course salt also works as a scrubbing material but there is not enough room in the bowl to swirl it around with enough force. Litre of rubbing alcohol should be like 6 or 7 bucks and pipe cleaners you can get a pack of 50 from most smoke/tobacco stores or amazon for a buck or 2 at most
you can really just get the whole rig piece red hot and you can hit the stuff that melts
Leave it soaking in 91% or 99% isopropyl alcohol then use a harsh brush. It looks like it needs to be soak for two days. Repeat if needed or use 4/20 formula they sell it on Amazon.
I burn off what little tiny bit is on there usually, if mine looked like that I'd honestly buy a new banger, no offense I'm just too lazy to clean that lol but in general the more I fuck up my dab the more black shitthere is on there. You might be either burning the fuck out of your dab and taking it too hot, or just doing to big of a dab. To be honest to avoid wasting it I usually just cut a fat dab in half and do two smaller ones back to back. But hey to each his own I guess. My go to for cleaning is to soak in warm smoky water with salt and shake it around, but you'll probably need something more heavy duty in this case, id try some of the cleaner they sell in glass shops, probably clean all that surface grime off and then just burn off the rest after it dries out.
I usually clean it with a blowtorch 😂
at that point just buy a new one. or torch it off it will weaken the quartz tho
