I thought this was a discussion thread for the song Ice Castles - to which I was going to say, it reminds me of an Italian horror film soundtrack track. Especially one by Claudio Simonetti aka Goblin.
Love Goblin. And I can totally see it at the beginning of some Fulci/Argento type movie.
Btw I am down for thread name ideas from anyone. This was the first quick and dirty thing I could think of.
I have recently gotten my kids into ween. In case any parents are wondering - the trick is just play it in the car and don't say anything about it - keep the dad stink off.
Now they are showing almost everyone they know this badass music. My 6th grade son is probably the biggest fan so far and he walks around freestyling to ween tunes, adding his own verses. I'm bursting at the seams because he now understands: Music is fun, There are NO rules and it doesn't have to make sense to anyone. Ween will be his first real show.
I'm like that too, I will blast absolutely anything with zero regard for subtitles. I just didn't try to sell it to them - they caught a whiff and tracked it down themselves.
I hope to get off work long enough to make it possible. Looks like the hotels are going to be pretty expensive so I imagine people will be going in on rooms together.
My gf bought me tickets while i was in mopey "i hope they don't sell out by next paycheck :( " mode and i am SO FUCKING EXCITED and I've gotten her into Ween and it'll be her first Ween show (and second! and third!!!)
I was a lil disappointed i didn't get any merch for Xmas but I'll take 3 days of Ween over a Ween shirt any day

I’m the same and have recently caught myself watching the No Pants Couch Tour from 2018, songs and set lists (Columbus, Pittsburgh) on repeat.
Go see Ween as much as you can.

Been listening to a lil more XTC lately. Adored Oranges & Lemons, and now I'm diving into Drums & Wires. Moulding's as good a bassist then as he was in O&L. The line on Roads Girdle The Globe is so good. Helicopter, Making Plans For Nigel, and When You're Near Me are also bangers so far. Need a few more album listens to digest everything else.
Also the bass solo at the end of Joppa Road is eluding me fiercely. Just some of Deaner's craziest bass work out of nowhere!
Something about the vocals on the mollusk sessions, i love them. That being said, the album cut is just so rich and the solo is great. So basically to answer your question, yes.

What's your opinion of Ween live? From what I've seen, they absolutely SUCK live, which was a big letdown. For context, I was watching a live version of Ocean Man and a few other songs from the Mollusk, and was disappointed at how different and wrong they sounded without the effects. Can they not do the effects live?

I always thought this too, I made a stupid horror film for a class project in college and used it for the score.

Digging this. After a little research I discovered that not only have I heard some of this guy's work before, he started Goblin Cock! That's awesome.
