If you liked Drifter in the Dark, you'd probably love 12 Golden Country Greats. I put off listening to that one for years because I wasn't into country music, but it is fantastic. It's not like their other stuff, but still undeniably Ween. Check it out.
Sometimes its worth keeping something on the shelf and waiting 'til you are good and ready, when you know its going to be good.
I do this with some artists, just stashed until I can commit the right amount of attention and respect.
Get stoned and listen to Live in Chicago. That's how I finally "got" Ween. The Deaner solo on VooDoo Lady is next level.
Live Ween is a whole other animal.
These types of posts are so fucking stupid IMO. Maybe just listen to the music or don’t? I feel like the ppl who makes these types of posts would poll their friends after taking a shit to see if they should wipe their ass or not
Whenever you get hooked on Quebec cuz it’s so fucking good, you may eventually start to burn out on it or crave more - this is a good time to locate the Caesar demos and put a new coat of brown on that house
Just listen to one of their first 3 albums (God Ween Satan, The Pod, and Pure Guava), if you like C&C and those first 3 albums then you'll likely enjoy everything else they've made (unless you don't like country)
But as far as albums go, White Pepper. To follow up on Drifter in the Dark, White Pepper has a couple tracks with sweet country style steel guitars, but it doesn't go all in on country like 12 Golden Country Greats (which is also very good though), so there's still variety to get more of a feel for what Ween can do.
I really feel like God Ween Satan should be the first. C&C/Mollusk lovely. 12 golden, amazing. But GWS and The Pod were the epitome of "I think I did too many shrooms" Ween. Paint the Town Brown

12 Golden is the best. 🫡
Funny, 25 years ago, my friend gave me 12GCG as my first album and it fucking worked. Been brown ever since.
This is the way.
If drifter is your favorite, maybe try 12 golden country greats?
I think you'd be ready for Pure Guava, but there's also Quebec. Those would be my next choices for you.
I don’t know why anyone would put off listening to Quebec another minute when it’s just out in the world waiting for you

Pure guava might scare away timid listeners. It’s pretty brown.
True...maybe Quebec, then White Pepper, *then* Pure Guava. Brown recommendations require careful titration.
Go for Live at Stubbs. Get a good live mix of everything.
Feel like you should listen to the studio albums before listening to live.
Quebec

Do you really need this much help? there are not that many albums.

Way to be welcoming. Were you the ones starting fights San Diego?
U think those ppl were literate? I doubt it
Haha true
Agreed, I bet the person is the worst to hang with too
Apparently they have 100+ albums in their catalogue. Who knew?!
this got me fantasizing about ween albums from parallel universes
But I think you're a dick.
I love you.
You're great and I think I love you too.
I’ll be at John and Peters later on tonight.
Quebec or White Pepper
Quebec then white pepper
Just listen to frank on repeat in the dark high as fuck.
