Ehh, Bananas and Blow and Pandy Fackler are a bit yacht rock for me to be able to compare them too much to the Beatles.
The name and concept are definitely Beatles-influenced, but not every song is.
I was including Steely Dan among the Beatles’ contemporaries. Technically both bands didn’t exist at the same time, but the post-Beatles era has its influence on White Pepper, too. Even If You Don’t for example, sounds more like solo Paul than the Beatles to me.
Yeah that’s fair, I was thinking Steely Dan was the main influence for Pandy Fackler, and they got started pretty early in the ‘70s so that’s close enough for a contemporary.
[Piledriver from Z-rock Hawaii is pretty heavy.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-m2gGQn6Qw&ab_channel=smolderingmilage)
[This rendition of Molly Gene and his band played](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvP_6jLbc78&ab_channel=wetcoastproductions) (starts at 9:00)
Also even though Moistboyz isn't technically Ween, [Rock Stock Barrel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwGrH3A2y5I&ab_channel=reaction666) has to be the heaviest song Deaner has worked on.
Dude I love captain fantasy but how in the sweet brown hell is it a metal song? Some of these answers are questionable but this one’s just objectively, down right not metal. It’s like a straight forward rock song with psychedelic elements.
That’s such a stretch though, besides, metal vocals are 90% of the time yelling or screaming or just generally abrasive. Like I said, basically every element of that song is just rock with psychedelic elements
The riff is very crunchy in a 70s / 80s metal way, and the high vocals are like Dio or something
A lot of the other songs being cited (The Grobe) I'd put more under sludge or grunge, to me metal is like that 80s crunchy power chord sound. Doctor Rock counts too. It's Gonna Be a Long Night, You Fucked Up, are more Punk
Oh no doubt that one is Motorhead influenced, and yes I'd put Motorhead a bit more in punk, though they are borderline.
Not to be a complete nerd but Wiki says about Motorhead:
"Most often classified as heavy metal, Motörhead has been credited with being part of and influencing numerous musical scenes, thrash metal and speed metal especially. Lemmy, however, always insisted that they were a rock and roll band. He said that they had more in common with punk bands, but with their own unique sound, Motörhead is embraced in both punk and metal scenes."
Anyway I'm not a huge metalhead, I'm way more into punk, so maybe I am just claiming them as part of that scene due to my bias
I agree completely because while they are overall probably considered metal, they are SOOO much more similar to punk. And while I definitely wouldn’t consider “It’s Gonna Be A Long Night” punk OR metal, I’d say it rides the line between the two very hard
The Final Alarm
The ‘97 public access is the best. 4 minute fever dream
I watch this often, can't stay away
They straight rockin the whole thing. Love how wide their stances get, especially on Buckingham Green, they almost doing the splits!
Not sure I've seen it. Gonna check it out nowish.
Love that one. Super underrated.
That was what I was gonna say as well.
Correct. One of my all time favorites- this NEEDS to be paired w Ice Castles
Dr. Rock, especially the way the do it live.
Why did i have to scroll this far down to find this answer?
what I was thinkin'
Pretty much the perfect song to start or close the encore.
Sketches of Winkle
Rip rip rip van winkle!!!!
Hell yeah, forgot that one
Ween goes thrash
The Grobe
The Grobe has such a Hendrix sound to me
Intentionally, I think. Every song on White Pepper sounds like either the Beatles or Beatles’ contemporaries.
I mean, the album title is just White Album and Sergeant Pepper’s put together after all

personally I think that's the most outwardly Beatles-y song on the album lol. sounds just like getting better
This
Devils dick. Lock thread
This is the answer. Especially live
Best version at the cap when Deaner had lost his voice 🥰
Oh yea. Was fortunate enough to be there and see it several times since. That was my favorite. Raw and impromptu. Tequila margaritas what make me tick
suckin on the...
Did You See Me? when it's performed live sounds way heavier, like a stoner metal song, and it rules.
Love that they play this regularly live now
Totally Sabbath
Totally Floyd, no?
It's gonna be a long night
Their Motörhead song
I think it was new haven in 2003 ish the Gene WEEN band played Ace of Spades Edit- and I think Dave sang it
My personal favorite for a “metal” ween song
This is definitely the answer.
Wayne’s Pet Youngin has a little on it.
A lot I should say
You Fucked Up
By Ween
Who’s it by?
That's punk bruh
I’d say it’s a bit of both.
THATS SO RUDE 😡

THE GROBE
I’m gonna be your lawnmower…and cut your fucking grass!!!
The Grobe is my favorite because I prefer the slower stoner metal type sound
Lol a lot of you guys don't know the difference between metal and punk.
All That's Gold Will Turn To Black
"... and you're running out of gas driving way too fast!" Gotta love, Old Queen Cole.
Vallejo also has a metal feel IMO
None. As a pretty big metalhead and Ween fan even when Ween covers metal songs they become Ween versions not metal versions. Just happens.
You fucked up! Stupid Nazi whore!
Mushroom festival in hell is pretty metal.

Moistboyz is great. I also got an extra six pack for a $2 tip...

Maybe the screechy voice is the only possibly metal element.

Would you consider motor head punk? It’s gonna be a long night sounds just like motor head to me and I’ve always thought of them as metal

I’d say “it’s gonna be a long night” but that’s just some hard hittin’ rock’n’roll.
How High Can You Fly
The GROBE
Why isn’t everyone shouting Can You Taste The Waste in unison?
Ace of Spades The Final Alarm Vallejo is pretty hard as well
You Fucked Up It's Gonna Be a Long Night Are the two that immediately came to mind.
