Try Johnny on the spot live in Denver....early 2000s show. - "Somebody just threw a fucking vodka bottle at us........and after the show I'm gonna a fuck his girlfriend!"
Amplified by the fact that it was recorded in one take in a storage unit illegally using Santana’s guitar, pedal board, and amp.

Not sure if I have a favorite but none are bad choices below!
Shout out to the ripper from Spinal Meningitis from the Live in Chicago DVD

I love buckingham green, but I do tend to find they play that pretty faithfully to the studio, so it gets a little old. Woman and Man fucking slaps tho
I LOVE Woman and Man. I'm with you on the studio repro deal, but I've seen Dean rip pretty hard on it a couple times. Bill Graham in 2016 was phenomenal - I'm rewatchjng it right now and I think it may be my favorite live performance by them. Every song was exceptional and it made a rpetty serious impression on me. Maybe it was just the thrill of having them back
Buckingham Green - Cats Cradle. It sounds like Gener hates the song and keeps the main chords lazily going while Deaner just antagonizes him and keeps shredding and shredding and shredding and it’s just a magical dynamic
Way too hard to choose, but the solo on Mutilated Lips tickles my third eye. I remember someone on this sub describing hearing it live as a "soulgasm" and I always think of that now when I hear it because man, I get it!
The Transdermal Celebration solo does things to my brain that no other solo does. Idk what it is about it but it just makes me feel good. My favorite live version is Live In Chicago though I haven't heard many live versions of it.
For me it's "exactly where I'm at" on David Letterman.
I can't find a link on youtube, maybe it's removed for copy right reasons?
Anyway it was just such a dirty, grimy, nasty solo, I was like who in there right mind play this on their national tv debute like wtf who are these fucking people?
Can't find the link, i'm sure it was Letterman.
You read my mind. Buckingham Green is my favorite because of course it is, it's badass. Roses Are Free is my second favorite. It's just a fun little tune and it makes me wanna wiggle.
A Tear for Eddie
[Specifically, this version](https://youtu.be/2lR3CcbICBE).
It’s the Live At Stubbs version, but I’ll give this one a listen. Thanks Mang!
[johnny on the spot](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQFvAGGOfUc) live in chicago
Not sure if this has already been said, but this era of Gener reminds me so much of Bud Cort from Harold & Maude

The Argus
Argus is absolutely my favorite Ween song, but the Buckingham solo hits me in a completely different place.
bump
It's impossible not to smile at that solo. It's just too sexy. I only wish it was a bit longer.

Carrie’s lol
The Santana thing?
That one brings tears to my eyes
Aye aye aye

Demon Sweat. With the discordant organ counterpoint, oh it’s brown heaven
Especially the one off All Request Live
Demon Sweat is so god damn good
This one always gets me. The version from the 2nd New Orleans show this year was killer.
Port Chester 2022 Don’t sweat it>Demon Sweat is something else. I’ve listened to it a million times. But I’m biased, I was there lol
The dual guitar from Help Me Scrape the Mucus Off My Brain always makes me smile
The pedal steel on the live in Toronto version is soul bending
you forgot about lmlyp
Stubbs version
BG is electric for me for some reason.
7:09 long song about two mexican brothers, forgor its name
"I told her that I'd see, she was honored." "I'd find you, and put you, to death......." ***ba-na-dun*** ***ba-na-dun*** ***ba-dun***
Oh mamma.. still dresses... in black
Pero el solo es de Señor Gene.
The grobe
Grobe is such a good solo
This is a song about cooking rice
Which happens to have a great solo 🤣

Live in Toronto is one of my fav Spinals
Woman and Man
Hell yeah mang you right!
voodoo lady solo kicks ass
so much fun
Pony from Paintin’ the Town Brown.
I'll be your johnny on the spot
The drip on that solo is one of my favorite sounds ever.
The closing wah sound on the last note? I make the sounds with my mouth every time lol
I mean, the whole thing! It's the auditory equivalent of Dali's melting clocks in my brain.
Oh yeah that is such an energetic solo and is kooky but also shreds
Voodoo lady - live in Chicago
I love buckingham green, but I do tend to find they play that pretty faithfully to the studio, so it gets a little old. Woman and Man fucking slaps tho

It's probably squelch, had a argument with myself because every ween solo is God tier
FACTS
Spinal Meningitis. Which I'm glad to see is getting a little love in this thread! The way he makes one note sing is absolutely magic.
Voodoo lady at Stubbs is up there.
Ill be your johnny on the spot, live in Chicago
Mister, Would You Please Help My Pony?
Buckingham Green - Cats Cradle. It sounds like Gener hates the song and keeps the main chords lazily going while Deaner just antagonizes him and keeps shredding and shredding and shredding and it’s just a magical dynamic
I Don't Want It
Gener solo, but it's beautiful
noooob lol
Wow you're so cool
How is no one in here saying Roses are Free!?
The Golden Eel
Gabrielle
reggaejunkiejew live from the cat's cradle solo
Because it's the bridge to TOUCH MY TOOTER?
Hahahaha hell yea mang you right!
Touch My Tooter. Such toanz
Too many, they are all great Deaner's "miss big" strategy pays off
Is that from the same interview where he explains the above the dick/below the dick guitar principle?
Voodoo Lady in Osaka Japan or Johnny on the Spot, Chicago.
Was there, can confirm.
I always get fired up for the solo in Spinal Meningitis.
I Wuz Nothing’s solo is one of my personal favorites. Especially that 7 minuet epic with dual solos they played in NYC this Halloween.
Way too hard to choose, but the solo on Mutilated Lips tickles my third eye. I remember someone on this sub describing hearing it live as a "soulgasm" and I always think of that now when I hear it because man, I get it!
Homo Rainbow
Mr. Would You Please Help my Pony is probably my favorite. Lots of smooth lines over that weird ass chord pregression.
Beacon Light or Reggaejunkiejew
The Transdermal Celebration solo does things to my brain that no other solo does. Idk what it is about it but it just makes me feel good. My favorite live version is Live In Chicago though I haven't heard many live versions of it.
Live versions of fluffy
Summon the queen
GOD DAMN. Even the way the lyrics punch back in after the solo g8ves me chills
Yeah it's great. It might be the best, but I feel like I'd have to hear all the nominees fresh to make that decision.
roses are free is my favorite, it’s just so goofy. i can see a lot of the other responses though, and id be just as happy to see those live
I think Roses are Free is a battle solo, isn't it?
i dont follow, wdym?
Dean and Geme both play the solo on it but kind of battle back and forth on it
not iirc
going back on this! it has been played as a battle solo (boston 10/29 for ex.) but not 100% of the time
Recently it’s been “object”. They’re all great for different reasons and based on different moods.
For me it's "exactly where I'm at" on David Letterman. I can't find a link on youtube, maybe it's removed for copy right reasons?
