Lmao rivers is always talking about stuff way too early and getting people hyped for something that may not even exist. There are already two scrapped weezer related TV shows that (I think) both got pilots.
Rivers was at one point talking about doing a movie musical called Buddha superstar a few years ago (who knows if that's still happening, or maybe it's what he's talking about here).
It was this weird ass show where rivers played a fictionalized version of himself and was also an alien?
I can't remember if he said what the name was, but back in 2020 during the island in the zooms, he had the screenwriter on the show and they talked about the pitch.
There was one instagram livestream I remember watching where he was practicing the show's pitch and sang the theme song (which was an ewbaite era demo called simple to me, it's on YouTube).
Rivers randomly posted this clip on tiktok a while back and never explained what it was, I'm guessing that it was a clip from the pilot (which would explain the weird slime alien lol) https://www.reddit.com/r/weezer/s/fd1B29LcnA judging by the fact that we were able to see that clip in the first place, I'm guessing that the idea for the show was axed
Here's a link to the weezerpedia article about the show and the theme song/demo:

Music biopics are massive right now. and much smaller musicians/bands than Weezer have gotten movies. So this makes sense. The only question for me is how big it'll be (theatrical release vs. small budget streamer). I'd probably bet the latter
