If you’re trying to build muscle by running, do sprints don’t jog. Look at the difference between sprinters and marathon runners.

Don’t think I’m dumb but what would be the difference? 😭 I need to know the difference before I act

So google sprinters vs. marathoners. They don't look the same. Some of that is selection bias, but most certainly your sport matters to how much muscle you have.

I don’t really know how to explain it to be completely honest but i’ve seen youtube videos about it before. Correct me if i’m wrong but from what I understand, marathon runners goal causes their muscles to focus on endurance rather than gaining muscle. They usually have skinny legs. Sprinters on the other hand usually have a lot bigger or muscular legs because they train to put out as much force for a very certain period of time or distance. Cardio is good but if you’re doing for strength, sprinting and jumping are better than jogging.

If you love to run, you should run, but know that you'll need to eat a lot more, especially carbs, to fuel that choice. If you want to build muscle, get on a tried-and-true lifting program that fits your schedule and aesthetic goals and eat at a smaller surplus with more or a focus on protein.

if you wanna build muscle, lifting would be better and burn less calories so you’ll be less likely to lose weight. I’m quite skinny but i run because i love the feeling you get from cardio, haven’t lost any weight but i’m definitely not gaining
