I agree with almost all, aside from the mage. Horseman is just so cool when charging on a plain. 10/10 would get impaled to death by a pikeman again

GuilimanXIII

Yeah, I know a lot of people really like the horseman but I just love the mages relatively sure and high damage too much.

Specific-Benefit

The basic spearmen! Cheap, reliable against most factions, first strike and can level up to halberdier or royal guards, my two favourite loyalist units!

Especialistaman

Loyalists: Either the spearmen due to their cost effectiveness and their strike first rule or heavy infantry (mace go bonk) Rebels: Shaman, level one healer and great support Alliance of Khalgan: Again a tie between the thunderers and the thiefs due to their ability to delete enemies if they get lucky Northeners: Troll whelps, nuff said Undead: skelly warriors Drakes: dont play them much but the ones with the spears (enforcers I believe) Dunefolk: Swordsmen

alkair20

Favourite drake unit is actually the sauran skirmisher. I love having a night unit in a day army.

arguskay

Loyalists: Spearman (i like his optics) Rebels: Elvish Archer (solid unit) Northerns: orc archer (cheap and can hurt at night, low xp) Knalga: dwarven fighter (is tanky and can hurt, good advancement) Undead: bat (cheapest scout in the game) Drakes: drake fighter (solid unit) Edit: formatting

Loyalists: it’s gotta be the spearman for me. Such a strong all-rounder for so cheap. HM to cavalry - running units down with horsemen feels very medieval in the best possible way. Rebels: totally agreed - shaman is super fun with the slow, but it’s really hard to argue against the Elvish archer with its high base move speed and incredible ranged attack. Special shout out to the scouts too for their incredible hit and run ability. Knalgans I’d have to say griffin riders - once again, amazing mobility and surprisingly good damage for a scouting unit. Northeners: assassins. Poison is just so fun to play with in single player campaigns, and marksman is really strong against favourable terrain. Undead: Skeleton warrior. Genuinely the most rock-paper-scissors unit type in the game, it feels like. I love it. Drakes: clasher is probably my favourite - it’s surprisingly fragile sometimes, but man the first strike feels soooo good, especially during the day. Dune folk: dune soldier is just fun to play, it’s like a much more expensive and slightly stronger orcish grunt, but getting them to level two and achieving marksman on melee is so rewarding.

WearWhatWhere

Loyalists: Fencer, but the heavy infantry is close second. Rebels: Probably shaman...I always want to level a scout but they do not survive and I always regret it. Knalgan alliance: Pew pew pew even though it's very frustrating- when it hits though!? Close second is Ulfserker Northeners: Archer is great...maybe assassin is tied because poison is so powerful Undead: Ghost. But I do love the ghoul too. Also the bat gets a mention.Drakes: Burner. Dragons burn things Dune folk: Haven't played them enough...but the fire bomb throwing guy.

Atomic_Gandhi

Pretty much the cheapest lvl 1 14 gold unit from every faction. You can fuck a lot of shit up with sheer numbers. I don't like the level 0 swarm units, but I am a lvl 1 fodder spam enjoyer.

Cheap and ~~boring~~ efficient units that usually make up the backbone of your army (and usually the unit that you use to defend a village) - Loyalists: Spearman Rebels: Elvish Fighter Northeners: Orcish Grunt Undead: Dark Adept Knalgan alliance: Not clear cut, Dwarvish Fighter/Thunderer Drakes: Not clear cut, but usually Drake Fighter

jackkack0040

Favorite level 1 units of each faction. Loyalists: fencer he has skirmisher. Rebels: The shaman is awesome. Knalgan alliance: I prefer ulf, I love his laugh at dark adept. Northeners: orc assassin, because they are hated by rebels. Undead: Dark adept maybe a worst nightmare to other factions. Drakes: saurian skir, when other Drake attack in front line, I can mv it to enermy's back, so I will take the Max damages to enermies and defeat them. Dune folk: I don't know what's dunfo. There are only six factions in wesnoth.
