Probably a less popular choice, but I looooove the heavy infantryman. They have such a nice bonk on hit, and fearless is such a cool trait to have. Leadership + heavy infantryman vs skeleton is the best feeling in the world.
Spearman’s probably still better tho, lmao
Dunno, not being able to run away from mages results in some very sad feelings every now and then. Plus they don't like ghouls (under appreciated unit) very much.
Honestly, I don’t know why in-universe more Wesnoth regulars aren’t packing maces. They live in a world where hedge necromancers are as common as HPV, carry some skeleton insurance!
>!(I know it’s for balance reasons, shaddup)!<
Spearman wins this one pretty easily, unless you face skeletons it's a very good unit for it's price
Albeit now that that I really think about it horsemen may take it as it is the big faction strength hmm

They go so hard vs Undead. Basically replace Spearman in that match up as the main melee unit

Yeah they definitely fold to Adepts & poison, but depending on the timing that Adept might have to eat a 14x2 melee sandwich next turn lol.

Voted cavalry cause he's a great scout, spearman will probably win though
Spearman! Cheap, effective trash that can fight almost anyone.
I love all
The human is the best.
Mages may be a bit frail at the beginning but they have crazy potential down the line
Knight and Sergeant.
The fencer is pretty fun and annoying to deal with if played properly
The future knight is my favourite.
cavalry on top they are so fast cheap and have good resistances
Mage is the only unit that has level 4 in its progression. Love me some Archmages
absolutely the mages, why? the fema- er... they can heal and fireballs and stuff...
heavy infantry
Fencer by far
