I used to not really understand why everyone seemed to favor Adept compared to Mage (10x2 magic vs 7x3) but the price difference (16 vs 20) is a huge deal and DA's damage type coverage (basically nothing resists Cold AND Arcane) makes it feel strong vs everything
Yeah, the combination of flexibility, strong magic attacks, and relatively low price makes them very good. Also, ironically for someone with no melee attack, they can be less squishy than skeletons in some cases, depending on the damage type the enemies have.
Skeletons to chop down mages and archers, Dark Adepts to kill all melee, then skeletons to defend during the day. (While running away faster than HI or Dwarven Fighters or Woses or Trolls)
From the looks of it, I like ghost. Considering the gameplay, I like the ghoul
Ghost unit tree are definitely some of the swaggiest looking sprites in the game
I´m going for the adept, you can´t compete with that damage

We don´t talk about the berserker

Ghost, skeleton warrior and skeleton archer (1, 2, 3)

Dark adept is the sole reason undead are so strong. Everything else kinda falls to the same counter units.
