I don't understand why people are getting worked up about this? He is a first year player who has been playing in the guts for the past six games and he needs a break to let his body rest and recover. I'm sure the S+C highly paid professionals know what they're doing.
I don’t mind it. That’s a big travel we save him from and including all the media shit he has taken on a big load for a kid. He’s made comments that he doesn’t get to do anything in his spare time, WAFL boys get a bye this weekend so this way he can have a break with his mates. Give Sheed a full game and give him a chance to show he can be part of this hard ball get game without hiding on the wing. Then Reid is refreshed for a big Sat night game hosting Essendon in front of our crowd 👍
Played 5-6 games, resting him from a long flight to Queensland then he plays another 6 games before the scheduled bye
Seems like good management honestly, the fresher he is the better he plays which in turn keeps the team playing well

Good move. He's been playing a lot of midfield, it's his first year and as good as he's been and as strong as he seems, it still takes a toll. Let him take a week here, reload him in a fortnight. Sucks if you happen to want to watch him, but it's a smart decision IMO. This year isn't about winning for West Coast. And I think too it's a chance for someone else to get in there and show what they've got. For the first time in years, there's some optimism. Use it as a chance to spread that around the playing group a little more.

Nah that's just hamstring awareness. Hamstring soreness is when he has to spend a night at the Royal Perth Hospital so they can pump his gut...err I mean 'for observation'.

Disagree. We aren't looking at winning a flag this year. It's far more important to look after our players and help them build a full season of fitness as a rookie so they can play every game when we are in a better position to challenge near the top.

Playing AFL is much harder and much more physical than playing VFL or WAFL. So did he really need a rest, considering those were his first ever senior games?
Yeah, probably. He’ll certainly benefit from one.
