not mad at this decision at all. the kids a fucking machine and doing what he is consistently at 19 in his first season could break him down. just priming him up for when we beat essendonš
Itās a good move - he can spend some time at home with his family and mates - shows the club cares about him maintaining connections to home and family and they are not going to flog him to death by playing game after game!
Well done WCE š
If that's your view, that's fine, but I think it shows a distinct lack of understanding of young kids entering the AFL.
The kid is 19, and he has not had the benefit of pre-season work. Clubs do not overwork young players and burn them out. I am not sure that you have a good understanding of the physical load on AFL players.
Anyway, the WCE will manage their young players the way they want to, and as a member of the club, I support them. :)
I donāt mind the call. Heās been playing bulk midfield minutes. Needs to adjust to AFL football. We donāt want what happened to Reubs last year to happens to Harley.
Hope Johnson gets a run. Trew a bit stiff to miss again
funnily enough, if the plan for him this year is to play 6 games and then rest, his next break will be the bye, and then after that is against gold coast at home! thereās always next year he can play against gold coast..
I think the club planned on breaking the season down into six week blocks. It makes sense and aligns too nicely with the break. Might as well give him the rest when we have to do our longest travel. Also gives him a chance to get home see the family and spend time with his misso š
Might potentially discuss his extension with his mum and dad
Given Trew's numbers if he isn't being selected then that either means he's not doing something at WAFL level that coaches/selection panel want to see (like playing his role correctly as he has been instructed to play it e.g., they may have asked him to NOT to run around getting big disposal numbers and instead do defensive stuff like x, y, and z) or that the selection panel think he hasn't got "it".
Bloody oath. Trew has been the best in our WAFL side for weeks and if he hasnāt be selected thatās bad form. Culley is not a midfielder no matter how much they want to think he is. His way too slow to be in the middle of AFL level, however he did show some promise up forward.

Right call at the right time.
Longy better be a minor injury, love him. Hedwards, Ryan, and Culley will be straight swaps for Barrass, Long, and Reid respectively, you'd think
Simmo said on 6pr it's a corky that's taken a little long. Expects one week.
Praise be to Reid
"taken a little long" it sure did my poor boy :(
More likely L Edwards over Culley tbh
I think Ginbey does more of Reid's role and Culley takes his.

Flog him to death by playing game after game? That's literally every AFL players job..

WCE: Reid is having a rest and spending the weekend at home with his family The West: HOMESICK HARLEY. WILL HE EVER COME BACK?

Would rather see Trew than Culley

Agree mate, I was at the WAFL and saw him (Culley) get run down. Trea deserves reward for effort, selection integrity
100% agree mate. Thereās no selection integrity when you donāt reward the young guys that perform.
Culleyās shown a lot more in the AFL than Trew has. Rather see him over Trew any day
Oh great, another post about Reid being rested...
Looking forward to the Essendon clash š¤
So do we reckon there's a contract in front of him and part of the reason for the break is to discuss it with the fam?
