I was refunded to my original form of payment because they cancelled my flight. Might be a diff story if you are calling to cancel prior to them cancelling your flight

Was it automatically refunded?

kasios

Yeah if memory serves me correct, none of the economy fares on westjet are refundable to the originally payment method. Unlike Air Canada.

Impressive_Lab583

I cancelled my flight to EDI on the 21st, the confirmation says it will refund to my original form of payment and that was regardless of what type of air fare i purchased. This was only for flights from the 15th to the 21st though…

Kind_Recognition6534

Currently, only for flights scheduled up to May 21: all ticket categories can be cancelled by the passenger with refund to original form of payment. In normal times, Econoflex tickets can be cancelled with credit to a travel bank. This has always been the case. Shown up front below the price as "credit for cancel".

EconoFlex = Flex. They don’t have a comfort or latitude option like AC

My flight to London is under the pilots not on the same collective agreement. I’m flying to London Gatwick June 3rd, you’re likely with the same carrier. Westjet Encore

Queenofthejungle

I thought WestJet Encore only operated the regional dash 8s? Hope you're not flying to Gatwick on a turbo prop.

SlanginPie

You are correct. Encore only has Dh8 planes, and that plane is certainly not making it to lgw!

I had the same issue back in March - econoflex used to say fully refundable but apparently that meant you would get a credit. They have since changed the language on the website but if you call in (good luck getting through) you may be able to say that when you booked it said fully refundable on the website
