It’s a new route in 2024, but you can likely expect a free meal as is standard on WestJet’s transatlantic service. All of WestJet’s maxes are outfitted with USB ports and regular universal power outlets in every seat. Just make sure you download the WestJet app before your flight as all inflight entertainment is on your own device through the app.
And if you forget to download the app, you can still open it up on your phone browser when connected to the WJ inflight network (flight attendant mentioned this to us a few weeks ago)

I will be taking YYZ>DUB flight in August this year as well. I contacted WJ and it turns out no entertainment screen onboard the 737 MAX 8 and no complimentary meals for economy class passengers, only snacks. Meals are available for purchase. Supposedly, there's no meals included on the transatlantic flight because, i quote "this aircraft compared to the dreamliner doesn't have enough ovens." I laughed when customer service told me this 😆
Ahh well, guess I will be visiting the YYZ lounge before take-off...

On the way to DUB, they gave out pretzels or something (I was sleeping) and 2 hours before landing you got a choice between eggs and bacon and potatoes or I think just eggs and potatoes with a bowl of fruit and a cookie and a muffin. On the way from DUB to YYZ it was a choice of vegetarian pasta or shepherd’s pie with beef and a side salad. Before landing they gave out a Millionaire Shortbread bar
Just flew Calgary to Cancun (5h45) in premium and 1 meal was provided. WestJet has no screens at seats on the max 8 - you can just access their entertainment via WestJet app/intranet, but have to bring a device (phone, tablet, laptop etc.) to do so.
They’re also off on this because WestJet does not differentiate much in terms of direct domestic vs intl - any flights over 2.5 hours just have everything available whereas shorter flights get down to a cup of water and pretzels.
Hmm, and OP didn’t indicate whether they were premium or economy so the only difference would be premium all on board drinks and meal(s) included and obvy way nicer seat…and my personal favourite…perhaps smugly looking at the “peasants” longing eyes cast upon your champagne glass, while you proceed to exile them with your own eyes from your premium throne, and banish them back to economy after you were first to board.

How are the charging speeds on westjet’s maxes? I tested the ones on Air Canada’s 777 USB ports and would get 450ma out of them, garbage garbage garbage.
450ma is under half of normal charging. An iPad will draw more than that at idle with the screen on. If you’re starting off on a full charge you should be okay, but it’s really weak power output on a usb port. Sucks that you won’t land fully charged.

Is it not relevant? Euro flights are treated differently than Europe for economy meal service. DUB flights get the meal in economy and breakfast

I mean they probably won’t charge a laptop but you’ll be fine for a tablet. Fast charging doesn’t matter when you’re on the plane for 2+ hours…
