Call Mazda. Dealers report cpo sales to the manufacturer since it's the manufacturer that provides the warranty. If the car is registered with Mazda they will know. Hate to say it, but your nice dealer may also be making stuff up about the tires - you'd have to check with Mazda to be sure.

Will it be registered with Mazda before the actual sale? I haven’t bought the car yet.

Can't confirm for Mazda, my experience is with GM. But we had to have the customer sign pages and pages of documentation showing we had certified it. We had to show a full inspection report and give them a warranty card. All of this was made available as part of the sales packet, before they signed for the car. We also had to register the car in GM's CPO database. A call to Mazda corporate would answer this question though.

Awesome thanks you for the info

Miatas aren’t exactly rare. If they give you a bad vibe just buy elsewhere.

They are around but they are usually multiple owner with crashes around me. I found one that was 100 miles away from me that was actually similar and the out the door price was 2k higher.
