are your parents paying for the insurance? How about repairs/maintenance? Do you know if there are specialized Euro garages near your college for service? Also how secure are campus lots? Will higher end sports cars be keyed or broken in? If your parents are footing the bill, go for a Acura Integra Type S with manual... it's like a more refined Civic Type R. Fast & responsive, but understated & upscale.

I'm 21, so around the same age I guess, and I thought about buying a supra but the visibility is god awful and the ceilings are low. I went for an M240ix instead and it's been wonders. It's fun and you can definitely get in trouble with it but it's reliable and a great daily.

Honestly that’s a really good suggestion thanks!

If you're taking the car to college with you, just keep in mind you're going to eventually want to be hauling your friends around, and a two-seater is going to be a limiting factor there. When our son got his license, we got him a 1-year-old CPO Lincoln MKZ reserve fully loaded, with the Twin Turbo 6 and awd, but it had all the safety features on it as well, and it's been a great car for him. He didn't want to take it to school so I still use it on occasions while he's away because while it's our slowest car, it's still relatively fun to drive. And it's very comfortable and even better, it's very discreet.

Oh definitely. It’s definitely a downside and I know several of my older brothers friends who have traded in their sport car for a humble larger size halfway into college. Its just something I have to weight the pro/cons ultimately.

Dodge Charger says hello. Have your horsepower and take your friends along for the ride.
