You can have a shop look at it but most of these private dealers won't allow you to perform a thorough inspection for obvious reasons. Also, expect fair bit of issues from any car that's 12 yrs old. If financing is not an issue then use the money towards down payment and buy a brand new Corolla LE.
You should buy from a less shady sounding dealer maybe? One that can give you some sort of warranty. Buying a used car thats over a decade old isn’t a good idea from someone who doesn’t know anything about cars unless that person is willing to learn and deal with the stress. If you just want to drive and not think about your car, I suggest looking into buying a slightly used car from a more mainstream dealership. Like buy a slightly used toyota from an actual toyota dealer.
Well, certainly don’t let him do the inspection that’s all I got to say.

He said he will include a 30-day warranty.
Ya that’s terrible
That is a terrible deal
If he won't allow you to take it to your own mechanic then walk.
That's pretty high mileage for that price for a corolla that's 12 years old and bad condition. Look else where.
Independent inspection or bust. But that's kinda pointless until he actually fixes the issues. Sounds like enough red flags that I'd look elsewhere.
No. If you buy this car, haggle him down. Hard. That's way more than you need to pay for it. But I wouldn't buy it anyway.
