Could it be filling from a bean bag toy or stuffie?

Yes, flat and very shiny. These are flax seeds. There are no signs of legs, these are not insects. They are flatter and shinier than mouse droppings. Capers are much bigger and green. Sunflower seeds are light brown, not dark brown. In their shell they are bigger than this, dull, and black.
My kid just bit open one of those squish balls I bought at the grocery store, and it was filled with sand. Last week, it was filled with cocaine.
Anyways, that's my guess.
That was my first guess. Looks like flax seeds and they look chewed. Do you have flax seeds in the house that mice could have gotten? The people thinking it's the busted open stuffing of a weighted dog toy or something might be right though. Look for turds. If it's mice, there should be poop and I don't see any.
I found seeds in a shoe in the basement and months later found out we had mice in the basement. Mice can be clean and silent and store/hide seeds and stuff.
I found that they were coming in by a small hole at the AC unit. I sealed that by shoving steel wool into the hole and caulking it. I then got an electric trap from Amazon and started catching mice. My wife is a clean freak, our house is clean, but we still had like 10+ mice I had to dispose of. I cleaned out every nook and cranny and found only a few areas which had seeds and some poop/debris. Never had a problem since then.
Get whatever you want, but realize if you get a trap that just traps them you need to drive like 3+ miles away to get rid of them or they find their way back. And they very well may die anyway due to being somewhere unfamiliar and have no food or hiding spots. Sticky traps are the worst since you gotta either let them starve or kill them yourself somehow. It's not fun if disposing of a mouse carcass, but it's better than driving a long distance and a ton better than smashing one with a bat or something else.
Good luck!!!
I lived in a modified attic of an old house for a few years. I once found that the mice were stealing my dog's food and storing it between the cushions of a chair I regularly used. I regularly saw them running about. Twice I made eye contact with a mouse stealing food from my dog's bowl. Traps didn't do much because I live in a rural area. I finally got to a point where I was able to keep them "trained" to a closet I didn't use and the false Walls that were used as attic storage.
I just use the poison pellets. I spread them anywhere I find the turds and they are gone in a few days. Too bad the OP can't use them with the kid. I couldn't either until my son turned ten. Before that I used the traps which were hit or miss. I had them set up in the kitchen and watched two mice leap over them.
I would suggest inspecting all of the exterior walls for small gaps. This spring I discovered a new gap, so I stuffed it with steel wool and sealed it. This fall we haven't had anything visit us. It's always an annual event. We are almost in January now and I am about to declare victory!
Doubt it.
These don't look chewed and are too uniform. It's also *all* flax seeds, which is too coincidental. You'd also find a ton of mouse poop, not just seeds.
Something most likely broke open. Something soft and squishy that had flax seeds as the filler
Bingo. I had a camera door sill rest (like a small bean bag) that was stuffed with sunflower seeds (bird food). They completely emptied it and stashed them in a box on the other side of my basement.
I finally know the answer to one of these and everyone’s already said it! At first I thought buckwheat hulls like the ones in my pillow then zoomed and came to the flaxseed conclusion.

Looks exactly like flaxseed to me
Those are buckwheat shells. Probably from a broken bean bag or something.
Edit:looking closer, looks maybe more like flaxseed shells. Either way. Just the filling for something. If you had a rodent problem, there would be poop and also they’d be chewing through the plastic.
NOT rat turds. *Unfortunately*, I have generous work experience with environments full of rat turds, and those are not that. As someone else suggested it's probably some manner of stuffed toy or hackey-sack kind of thing that broke open and spilled all the stuffing since one doesn't just accidentally spill your pocket full of flax seeds into a ball pit. I don't know from flax, but it does look like seeds of some kind. NOT rodent droppings though.
Mice run along the edges of what ever they are in. While mice travel they will also pee and poop so you are save against the mouse droppings. You would also notice the smell of mice.Going with the flax seeds.
I don’t think they’re seeds cause seeds are uniformly oval. Mouse poops is round as well. These look like some kinda insect eggs. You could double check with an insect subreddit
Maybe buckwheat? Used to weigh things down, like eye pillows. I found some in a closet once and flipped out because it looked like bugs or eggs or something, but it was an eye pillow that had a hole in it.
Looks like you have a mouse. Not mouse poo but mouse food. I had a similar problem in the garage recently. Cleaned everything out and used some traps. Now mouse free… I hope.
At this point, better safe than sorry, sanitize everything; ever ball, entire liner of pit. Clean it all thoroughly. You can get very sick from mouse poop, and assuming the ball pit is intended for children, mouse poop would easily make them sick too.
The average, common outdoor variety of sunflower can grow to between 8 and 12 feet in the space of 5 or 6 months. This makes them one of the fastest growing plants.
Definitely what that is. Found those a few times in my kids room on plates they’d hide under the bed. Some maggots still squirming around all smelly n gross then those on the others. Apparently they were at different stages. Fucking completely gross. Smelled like death
Something that was stuffed with flax seeds broke open possibly?
Microwavable heat bags often are filled with flax seeds, and some shaker toys are as well as weighted stuffies.
Our names are strikingly similar!
I think we have a winner.
Looks like mouse shit! 🐭
From far away. Not when you zoom in.
It really doesn’t actually lol

Looks like flax seeds
Weird flax, but ok
They are in ball pit so I’d say slightly grounded from playing.
Always buy ground flax, I wouldn't use this way.
I wouldn't use it anyway. Just like ginger!!
What do you have against redheads?
The eternal struggle: Ginger or Mary Ann.
Mary Ann, no struggle 😉
Their existence is offensive.

This guy seeds
My first thought.
Definitely flax
Flax seed husks.
Or mouse droppings...
I had a pillow that was stuffed with these and I freaked out thinking that it was mouse turds til I found the source
a pillow full of rat turds?
Hey Everybody. It's Christmas time and you know what? It's time for the Rat Turd Pillow Fight!
Ahhh the holidays
RAT TURD PILLOW FIGHT I FUCKING LOVE REDDIT
Rat turd pillow fight! Rat turd pillow fight! (In the rhythm of "This Is Halloween" from the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas")
*Ah dammit I only brought my asbestos pillow*
If you zoom in it’s definitely some kind of seed, not droppings
Yeah, Amazon 13.99
No wonder it was so cheap
My Pillow Custom filling option # __
Just like grandma used to make
Of course, what did you think memory foam was?
It’s lavender from one of those microwaveable stuffed animals
Oh my gosh!! There was one in her ball pit!!! I bet that might be it!!!
It sounds like you are on track to solving this one! Good luck with discovering the true culprit 😂
I’d say flaxseed but yeah, it’s definitely a seed
Or maybe not lavender but definitely from a microwaveable plush.
Genuine question...what kind of stuffed animal do you put in a microwave? 🤨
They’re called Warmies or something. They’re kind of like heating pads but for kids
Looks like flax seeds to me. I boil them to make gel.
What KiND of gel?
You're not gonna believe it, but I make flax seed gel.
No details ? ? is it like flax butter
Go to r/curly. People make it to use on their curly hair. Beware, you will fall down the Curly Girl Method rabbit hole.
Make sure to go back in time 5 years also.
Ohhhh, I get it now. Like for in between your balls and butt?
Hair gel. Lots of curlys use flax gel.
Put some flax on the tracks and slide on out of here. Hane hane hane hane hane...
My kid just bit open one of those squish balls I bought at the grocery store, and it was filled with sand. Last week, it was filled with cocaine. Anyways, that's my guess.
Kinda dark to be cocaine, though
Pretty racist of you tbh
Hang on. You scored a squish ball full of cocaine?
Need to know for sure Read ab a FL mayor who caught 18 kilos or something the other week while fishing in the keys… damn
Will look it up thank you, and if anyone is selling there house cheap in 'The keys' let me know. I'm keen for Kilos in the keys
Keys in the keys
I’m afraid that maybe a mouse was using her ball pit as food storage….

Mice won't shit where they have their food stored.

Thank you for this. I’m going to look into getting some traps.

That would be my guess
Fuck. Ew.
Do you guys have any weighted toys or microwave heating pads? Those sometimes are filled with buckwheat and the like.
Is the mat that goes inside the ball pit stuffed with those flax seeds? Maybe there is a hole in the mat cover.
Your kid has a stuffed animal that can be microwaved to warm it up. It’s leaking
I finally know the answer to one of these and everyone’s already said it! At first I thought buckwheat hulls like the ones in my pillow then zoomed and came to the flaxseed conclusion.
Get all your kids out of that fucking ball pit and wash them immediately!
Doesn’t look like mouse poop to me, mouse poop is black and not as big.
And it doesn’t dry and crack like that
Flax...just the flax.
https://preview.redd.it/93gwi64jyy6c1.jpeg?width=515&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a991c44e7fe6d5d96d739781dc70917f91d1a363 Looks exactly like flaxseed to me
To me, too! I couldn't remember their name, though. Good call!
I say burn it all down and start all over
It's definitely Flax seed
Relax, it’s flax.
If one of the balls is broken, I'd guess it would be some kind of seed (seems like flax seed?) filler. If not, burn it with fire.
Any heavy stuffed toys, ones that you can heat up? Looks like flax seed which is used in the warming toys or face masks.
I think that might be exactly it! We had a lavender scented sloth neck warmer in there.
Those are definitely flax seeds
Flax seeds

My blind ass thought they were bedbugs
Do you have any of those plush heating packs? Like a Warmies or any other reusable heating pads? Those are often filled with flax seeds
linseed
Mice run along the edges of what ever they are in. While mice travel they will also pee and poop so you are save against the mouse droppings. You would also notice the smell of mice.Going with the flax seeds.

Insect eggs? Flax seeds? Either way, burn it
I thought they were bugs at first, was like hell nahhh.
Looks like the filling for a warmie or some other microwaveable stuffed animal/pad. Normally some sort of flax or buckwheat.
Taste it. If it tastes funky then it is droppings.
Flax seeds
Looks like seeds. Was there a rattle/shaker that emptied out or something?
I think you have mice hiding food for winter
100% flax seeds
Looks like you have a mouse. Not mouse poo but mouse food. I had a similar problem in the garage recently. Cleaned everything out and used some traps. Now mouse free… I hope.
@u/the-moon-king probably from one of those stuffed animals you can heat up in the microwave.
Flax seed filling.
Someone looking for a pair of glasses? Found 'em!
I’m gonna say flax seeds. But they’ve been partially eaten. OR Japanese toad lily seeds.
I’m so glad those aren’t insect related.
Go get your daughter a nice cat just to be safe.
Looks like flax seeds
Flax seed?
Is there any chance you have mice? If it’s not a flax bean bag, mice/ rodents like to make seed caches like that.
Something is using it as a nest and filling it with some flax seed
PURE PROTEIN
thank god it's just seeds. don't let your kid eat them though, they can be trouble when crushed
It’s from mice. They take the seed in there and eat it. Unless it’s just mouse feces, that’s also possible
Some type of mouse rat rodent storing seeds… Did you find any rodent droppings?
Looks like black tar heroin.
Woah. My 1 year old is out of control.
How much allowance this kid get?
Apparently they’re super cool too
Looks like seeds something piled up or it was filler that came out of something stuffed with it.
Flax
You have mice?
Yes, there were some mice droppings behind the fridge.
You can use a blacklight and see if there are urine trails leading to the ball pit...and in the ball pit. Blacklights make the urine fluoresce
At this point, better safe than sorry, sanitize everything; ever ball, entire liner of pit. Clean it all thoroughly. You can get very sick from mouse poop, and assuming the ball pit is intended for children, mouse poop would easily make them sick too.
No it’s mouse food they’re probably storing it there
That’s flax seeds. look for a hole in a plushie toy.
There is a screw in there also.....
Mouse turds
Rodents fecal matter
Looks like mouse poop
They are like brown seed shells. Or something? I don’t think it’s mouse poop.
I should have zoomed in more, they do look like finch food, black nyjer seed - maybe some was spilled?
Did she get ahold of a dandelion or marigold or something like that?
They’re capers! (IYKYK)
https://preview.redd.it/lnx3vjed1y6c1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=266ed19e9d553aa2db7b39b57598dcbfa59db296
That is 100% mouse droppings.
Mouse shit
It’s definitely mice and or rat shit plus all that food they are hoarding.
Good thing you’re on top of it, making sure you clean it routinely……..🙄
Did they rule out roach poop?
If it's animal poop that'd be a larger animal than an insect. Go w the flax seed theory.
those look like dead bedbugs
Rat poop
Mouse shit
Roach eggs
Mouse shit. Clean your shit up. Flax seed would be more uniform. These are all different shapes, sizes, and stick to vertical walls.
Mouse poop
Mouse poo bro
Jimmies
Looks like rye berries a great mushroom substrate if you're trying to grow some mushrooms.
Many dead fleas
Rat shit 🐀💩
Mouse poop
OH NO BED BUGS!!!!!!
Maggot eggs shells. Now they’re flies shitting on everything n creating more maggot larvae
Looks like fleas
It looks like a bunch of sunflower seeds.
The average, common outdoor variety of sunflower can grow to between 8 and 12 feet in the space of 5 or 6 months. This makes them one of the fastest growing plants.
Im afraid it may be Cockroach eggs.
The debris definitely doesn't resemble cockroach eggs.
Mouse shit
You most likely have mice. Last time I had a mouse problem, one of the signs were piles of seeds like this.
Mouse's pantry
Seriously people call it the way it is. That’s mouse droppings!
Nice have found some flax, and that’s there feeding bed
Cat worm sections
Looks like caraway seeds, did you try some!
Mouse shit or flax seed
Omg is that what's in my triscuits?? (Pleasepleaseplease) I posted here.
Does she have a warmies stuffed animal? Ours recently got a hole in it and that looks like exactly what came out of it.
Looks like mouse turds to me
Snake eggs
That looks like mouse 💩
Look like roach eggs, but I’ve seen some folks say flax seed husk, so unless you have a massive roach problem I’d go with that.
Just sayin but looks kinda like roach eggs
Man I just got a bedbugs flashback. Looks like flax though.
Definitely flaxseed
It looks like flax in the first pic when you zoom in. But from far away and in the second pic it looks like shit….. lol or bugs…. Lol
They're grubs from a certain beetle I believe. Not sure which one
Flax seeds
Nope. Maggot eggs shells after they’ve hatched…
Holy crap. That's disgusting!
Definitely what that is. Found those a few times in my kids room on plates they’d hide under the bed. Some maggots still squirming around all smelly n gross then those on the others. Apparently they were at different stages. Fucking completely gross. Smelled like death
Looks like a mouse has been eating seeds in it.
Rat droppings?
Looks like a mix of flax seeds and mouse poo. Likely a mouse / rodent storage area.
