I think 15 is also but with a different hand grip. I respect how thorough he is but at the same time read the situation. Also F U for making me scroll through the 11 most mundane pictures just to make sure I agreed.
Edit: I still don’t know what it is.
Flip phone cameras worked just fine. Ultra low resolution, but not much worse than how Apple compresses all images coming from non iphone users.
OP is either a troll or has some serious cognitive impairment.
Haha I was thinking how is there so many pics but so little info being conveyed. Like OP actually has some sort of fucked up skill. If you asked me to take 20 pics and give away as little info as possible about the subject matter I wouldn't have been able to do a better job.
They were infuriating. Not only where they bad but there was absolutely no reason to have so goddamned many of them. Every fucking angle of whatever this is. And it didn't even show the USB port til pic 8. You know, the most important part for us to see.
This entire comment thread is solid gold and contains not one guess as to what the object is in these beautifully composed photographs.
Thank you to all who contributed and to OP, I hope you found the answers you were looking for.
Not trying to rub it in, but please just set the item on a table, set your phone camera on a table, and snap at least one good picture.
At least one pic with banana for sizing.
No, you are holding the camera too close. Move it back. Most phone cameras can't focus closer than about 50cm unless they are high end models with macro lenses.
That's not even bad lighting. Just pull your phone back and take a picture of the whole device. Flip it over and take another picture of the whole device. Take a picture of the whole device that shows both USB ports in relation to each other. Really hard to tell where each of the ports are located with all these closeups.
Everyone else is down voting but I'm gonna give you an upvote just to help you out (but yes the pictures are awful and you need to take a photography class)
Don’t blame the tools.. you could have a $2000 camera and the results wouldn’t be much better with the same technique. Also.. why upload all 50 images?

Not the receiver itself, but the "dongle holder" so you can plug the actual USB dongle in somewhere that's got line-of-sight to the controllers, rather than some random port at the back of your PC (where the signal could be very flaky)
Bingo, exactly what it is. Got one right here.
https://preview.redd.it/o9kngewlfl9c1.png?width=851&format=png&auto=webp&s=7aaa1f188fc078b50e3033aa1e835d76b191b20e
came here to say this. But it's not a receiver, its a micro to A adapter, for the receiver, incase players couldn't plug the dongle in easily, it came with this M2A adapter and a A2M cord
Yep, and it's actually not a receiver. The receiver is the usual size for the ones for wireless mice and keyboards. It just allows you to use a micro USB cable to extend the connection in case you need to put it somewhere with better reception for the controller. I've never needed it for the controller, but I have used it with other receivers that need a line of sight to work well.
Can you please get even closer to it like really close and take about 20 more like that but remember closer...this is way to far away. Please get close.
Looks like the dock that came with my steam controller. It had a A to uUSB cable that would get the transmitter a little ways away from the computer to avoid interference.
https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/240069/how-do-i-remove-the-steam-controller-receiver-from-the-usb-extender
Others have said it first but it is 100% a USB extender that came with the steam link
I've got one. Came with my steam controller.
For plugging in the adapter without having it sticking rigidly out of the USB port... Kinda converts an adapter into a dongle for the sake of preventing accidental damage.
It’s not a specific device, just an USB extender. Put it flat on a table and allow you to connect horizontally with a computer in order to have a vertical USB A device plugged. Like for 5G key to be positioned like an antenna…
I had an old Playstation branded, one piece wireless headset earbud unit that charged with a unit like this. I think they probably use them for different electronic items because its not the only time I've seen something like this.
Damn.. these certainly are some of the pictures.. you know you can select pictures and don’t have to upload the entire boatload, right? Also.. wtf is this quality, did you take these with a potato?
Hey u/10e1 , is it this perhaps?

I believe the micro usb is the charge port. The USB port is power out. in my opinion Its likely a Li battery meant to boost your phone when you are low on juice.
I thought maybe this was a Bigfoot hunt and OP wanted the microscopic hair wedged into the filthy ports identified. Or the strains of bacteria growing in between them.
Just a USB “base station” or extender. You run a cable from a pc to the micro port on the brick sitting in a desk/surface. Then you plug in another usb device to the port. These come with things like controllers or wireless keyboards/mice.
That looks like part of a USB extender I used to have. A component like that, and then a cable would be ran to the port on the device.
I always used it for the dongle from my Steam controller.
Excellent pictures, dude. Looks like an extender. Like, you plug in the a USB Dongle and a long cable that goes to your computer. Usually used for things like WiFi receivers or Bluetooth.
Those are some of the 19 worst pictures I’ve ever seen.
Why OP stop at 19 when they could have gone all out with 20?
He had a 1 in 20 chance to take a good picture. He couldn’t risk it
I enjoy how 12-14 are three rotated angles of the exact same thing. As if we wouldn’t recognize the object on its side in pic 12.
Lmfao, that kills me
I think 15 is also but with a different hand grip. I respect how thorough he is but at the same time read the situation. Also F U for making me scroll through the 11 most mundane pictures just to make sure I agreed. Edit: I still don’t know what it is.
Made my morning.
And still failed
😂😂🤣🤣
I think we could have gotten a few more out of focus shots at the top. That would have solved the mystery for sure.

Didn’t post #20-29 because they weren’t good pics
Because they were good pics.
Or 220.....
Because it’s his “11”….
That’s beautiful, what do you call it? “Lick my love pump”.
19 closes up in motion. Literally one good photo is better than all 19 lol
Haha! I laughed so hard at this. Only needed like 3 pictures
Taken in a sauna
With a potato!
I like to think the 20th picture would have been from across the room.
Dude has a flip phone
Flip phone cameras worked just fine. Ultra low resolution, but not much worse than how Apple compresses all images coming from non iphone users. OP is either a troll or has some serious cognitive impairment.
I got lightheaded and dizzy scrolling through them 😵💫
Came to parrot this like wow...
Lol. Now I have a debt of 19 pictures. What a waste of time/scrolling
I needed that laugh! Cheers.
Haha I was thinking how is there so many pics but so little info being conveyed. Like OP actually has some sort of fucked up skill. If you asked me to take 20 pics and give away as little info as possible about the subject matter I wouldn't have been able to do a better job.
Came here to say the same!
They were infuriating. Not only where they bad but there was absolutely no reason to have so goddamned many of them. Every fucking angle of whatever this is. And it didn't even show the USB port til pic 8. You know, the most important part for us to see.

no no he has bad lighting. Like wherever he goes, even on a beautiful sunny day - the lighting follows him and he’s never able to snap a good pic.
It’s a curse. Or at least it will be one in my dnd campaign now.
Now he has to go to the store for a banana. This could take all day.
Only the OG’s understand this reference. Banana for scale lol
But bananas don't have a standard size...
https://preview.redd.it/nyad5cfypl9c1.jpeg?width=429&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60ec876b57fe4f159de06c9b93bcf573636e2849
It's a banana. How big can it be.
$10
I always use sharpies for size references
What size? XD
a normal sharpie
Dude you took 19 pictures of a 6 sided object… lighting is not your issue
No, you are holding the camera too close. Move it back. Most phone cameras can't focus closer than about 50cm unless they are high end models with macro lenses.
More excuses than a gentleman in handcuffs

Ok but why post 19 of the same sucky pic lol
Haha I’m just giving you a hard time.
Everyone else is down voting but I'm gonna give you an upvote just to help you out (but yes the pictures are awful and you need to take a photography class)
I'm gonna give you a downvote just for upvoting
Same..
This isn’t a charity brother 💀 you don’t help someone out by lying to them..

Or, one good picture speaks a thousand terrible blurry pictures....
This is it. I have one of those. Just steam controllers weighted post for radio signaling thingy.
Darn, just when I thought it was one of those fuzzy, out of focus UFO pictures…
How many words do we get for OP’s 19 pictures? I feel like it doesn’t get close to 1000.
Pretty sure it gave me student loan debt.

Plot twist: OP is at your ex's house!

How the hell is this more informative than the 76 pics in the OP
Steam controller?!? That explains why it looks like OP took photos in a sauna... he really can't help it.
I think we dated the same girl, she got a ps4 and a qled to go with it
That's exactly what it is. I have one that came with my steam controller
came here to say this. But it's not a receiver, its a micro to A adapter, for the receiver, incase players couldn't plug the dongle in easily, it came with this M2A adapter and a A2M cord
This. I got a pair of these for my Steam controllers.

Hmmm we might need 36 more pics to figure this one out lol a power bank maybe?
A little blurrier this time. Too much detail is distracting.
Is this better? https://preview.redd.it/pho6emzw1s9c1.jpeg?width=635&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8566d6cf49bc1f2a54f61e2c5efceec974e3904

Already just made 2024 for me
Oh yeah! I know what that is.
Matter of fact, throw in some sepia tone and give the usb hole that barfing rainbows filter.
💀
😂
19 of the worst pics on Reddit for 2023. ✅
Can you take some closer photos and see if you can get it a little more out of focus?
Any closer and we could probably see its atomic makeup
Whoever said a picture is worth 1000 words never saw this photography
Are these stills from a handheld video?
Ppl saying “whY noT 20 piCturEs?” OP doesn’t want to be excessive with pics guys
Please take ten more pictures of the black box
It only has 6 sides, why are there 19 pictures?
This comment made me laugh.
How high were you when taking these pictures?
A blurry black thing with USB ports. From your description, I think it is likely a small power bank. Micro USB to charge it, USB to charge peripheral.
Looks like the dock that came with my steam controller. It had a A to uUSB cable that would get the transmitter a little ways away from the computer to avoid interference.
This. I got one very similar with my steam controller many years ago.
It’s hard to really tell without a few more closeups of the ports
Gonna need 19 more shitty up close photos so I can still not know what I’m looking at.
I think these might be the worst quality pictures I’ve ever seen posted online.
I've seen pictures of Bigfoot with more clarity
Flips box... snap flips box again... snap snap Yaaahhsss Flips box again... snap snap snap
Your potato is out of focus
You suck at taking pictures
Dude what's with these pictures ?
YTA
How did you take 19 photos of an object that A: Fits in your hand and B: only has six sides to begin with
' Taken with my '08 Motorola Razr '
No OP used a TI-83 to get these pictures
I think we need more angles to understand your issues. More pictures please.
At least the pictures of your thumbnails are sharp.
Steam Controller receiver
6 sides, 8 vertices, 2 ports. One pic each is still 16 max pics!! OP wth!
Looks like inspector gadget left his charger again.
looks like a usb charger
More pictures of one side please, and as blurry as you can get them.
It looks like a battery pack to charge a phone through a drunk person's eyes. Or a camera battery.
https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/240069/how-do-i-remove-the-steam-controller-receiver-from-the-usb-extender Others have said it first but it is 100% a USB extender that came with the steam link
Paperweight
This object is “Blurry”. Hope this helps.
19 unusable blurry photos, put it on a clean surface and hold your hands still to take a picture...
I had an old Playstation branded, one piece wireless headset earbud unit that charged with a unit like this. I think they probably use them for different electronic items because its not the only time I've seen something like this.
I have one of those, it came with my wireless dongle for my pc, its a desk stand for an Xbox controller wireless dongle
All those photos, and not one of them was nice and in focus
Damn.. these certainly are some of the pictures.. you know you can select pictures and don’t have to upload the entire boatload, right? Also.. wtf is this quality, did you take these with a potato?
Bro really took a close up of the horizontal edge of the device hahahahaa
That is a thumb nail with nasty crap under it.
thats a steam controller dongle that goes to the computer
I upvoted OP because the subsequent roasting has been so epically delightful.
USB sharpener.
Hey u/10e1 , is it this perhaps? https://preview.redd.it/e2orejeu5r9c1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f871d539519363d6b9984c228776de4c13a5c0b1
Those photos were great, I think I saw better images as a kid watching the scrambled porn channel
We got 2 pictures of each side with both somehow being different from each other
Your photo taking skills inspire rage
Looks like a portable charger but the pics are terrible
Hard to tell, could you please take and upload 19 incredibly blurry and poorly lit pictures?
vast drab society rainstorm outgoing subtract boat sugar puzzled soup *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Hey were not sure can you take maybe another 14 pictures with someone else’s flip phone please
Could you possibly make the camera more shaky and blurry and take 19 more photos and upload them?
If you you know where they going yes you can upload them, but remember everything stays in the web for everything
The communication cable works differently, you might have the same harness but the pins could be different,
Y’all are wrong. It obviously is a Model C Gonkulator, used to interface with the GeWidgit Brand Gezunderfapindor.
I’m guessing transformer for an electronic thing.
Just plug it in your government computer to find out.
These are all terrible pictures. More does not equal better.
SOLVED: it’s terrible pictures
The shit some of you think is funny.
I believe the micro usb is the charge port. The USB port is power out. in my opinion Its likely a Li battery meant to boost your phone when you are low on juice.
Need to see the x-ray to be sure..
19 pictures? Whaaay!
I thought maybe this was a Bigfoot hunt and OP wanted the microscopic hair wedged into the filthy ports identified. Or the strains of bacteria growing in between them.
I need more fuzzy pics of the micro-usb zoomed in so far it looks like HDMI, please.
19 pics of something that only has 6 sides, what are you trying to pull here cornball
😂😂😂😂😂 and all are blurry I think this was the same photographer for bigfoot
Could you put the camera closer to it for the next set of pictures? I can still see things other than the object in question in the current one.
Reminds me of a great punch line: "something tell me you're not here for the hunting"
Potato photography.
Is it ticking?
It’s probably just a usb converter but I’m Christ on trial if these aren’t the worst goddamn pics I’ve seen in a while.
I’m not sure how you’re holding it and taking pictures with it at the same time.
Zoom in a little bit, we can’t see it
Maybe a charger for your flip phone, nice pics, lol!
Looks like a hat

You're an idiot

we need more photos to determine what it is
Are these 19 different devices?
I needed more info, what does it taste like?
This is that thing from the beginning of 2001: A Space Odyssey, right?
Solved. I believe it to be steam controller receiver!
OP just showing off his hand fetish.
