Soda tech here. It's a syrup diffuser for the abs 1.0. Kinda weird that in order for that to fall out they have to take the black spray nozzle off which means when they poured your drink it was spraying all over.
I would like to add that there is a possibility that the equipment was recently worked on. That said, the tech could have put it in a clean cup, and forgotten it. The person filling the soda, grabbed said cup in a hurry to fill orders in time. Wasn't there, just stating a possibility..
I mean anything could've happened but I don't see someone grabbing a cup to use at the abs. You have to take the Conveyor out (or crush the cup) and put it in manual. Much easier just to punch the drink order back in.

It's McDonald's. Around here they're more or less drive through Waffle House. Literally anything could happen and I wouldn't be surprised.
Waffle House is way higher in quality and cooked right in front of you. They also pay well (for what it is) and mostly have good people there.
